Abstract

Studies on sexual violence in Indonesian literature are still limited to the socio-cultural aspects, while the representation of the psychological impact on child victims has not been widely examined. This article fills this gap by analyzing the short story Azul Maya by Laksmi Pamuntjak from the anthology Kitab Kawin, with a focus on the trauma of child victims of incest. This research is limited to one short story to explore the complexity of the main character's psychological experience. Using a literary psychology approach, descriptive qualitative method, and thematic analysis, the research found trauma symptoms in the form of anger, anxiety, fear, and depression reflected in emotional changes, withdrawn behavior, eating disorders, and dissociation. This representation reveals trauma as a structural impact of sexual violence in a patriarchal system. The findings affirm the function of literature as an aesthetic medium as well as social critique, and expand the interdisciplinary contributions between literature and psychology.

Abstract

Sarcasm is a way of conveying meaning or messages through humorous or figurative insinuations and harsh criticism, including during the Indonesia’s 2024 presidential debate. Therefore, this study aims to reveal the application and meaning of sarcasm in the first 2024 presidential debate. The study adopts a descriptive qualitative research design. The data in this study are sourced from video recordings of the first 2024 presidential debate on YouTube. This study utilizes data in the form of words, phrases, clauses, sentences, and discourse containing sarcasm obtained through the note-taking technique. The collected data were then analyzed based on the data analysis technique guidelines of Miles and Huberman (1994) to identify the forms of language style through the analysis process with the following stages; 1) data collection on the aspects of sarcasm, 2) data reduction by sorting the data to be analyzed, 3) presenting data in tables, and 4) drawing conclusions/verification from the analysis as findings. The results of this study found that there are styles of sarcasm, namely innuendo, irony, and cynicism, by looking at the meaning in the words of the 2024 presidential debate speakers. The styles of innuendo and irony are the most dominant types of sarcasm that appear in the results of this study. Abstrak Sindiran menjadi suatu cara dalam menyampaikan makna atau pesan dengan menyindir baik secara lucu atau kias dan kritik pedas termasuk saat debat Capres Indonesia 2024. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap pengaplikasian dan makna sindiran pada debat pertama Capres 2024. Penelitian mengadopsi jenis penelitian kualitatif deskriptif. Data dalam penelitian ini bersumber dari rekaman video debat pertama Capres 2024 pada kanal YouTube. Penelitian ini memanfaatkan data berupa kata, frasa, klausa, kalimat dan wacana yang terkandung sindiran melalui teknik simak catat. Data-data yang telah dikumpulkan kemudian dianalisis berdasarkan panduan teknik analisis data model Miles dan Huberman (1994) untuk menemukan bentuk-bentuk gaya bahasa melalui proses analisis dengan tingkatan; 1) pengumpulan data berupa aspek sindiran, 2) reduksi data dengan memilah data yang akan dianalisis, 3) penyajian data dalam tabel, dan 4) penarikan kesimpulan/verifikasi dari analisis sebagai hasil temuan. Hasil penelitian ini menemukan terdapat gaya bahasa sindiran yaitu gaya bahasa sindiran innuendo, ironi, dan sinisme dengan melihat makna dalam kata-kata penutur debat Capres 2024. Gaya bahasa sindiran innuendo dan ironi merupakan jenis sindiran yang paling dominan muncul dalam hasil penelitian.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze student perceptions regarding the use of RStudio application to analyze ordinal data in statistics learning. The method used in this research is qualitative research. The data in this study are responses from students of the Informatics Engineering Study Program, Faculty of Engineering, Tanjungpura University in the 2022/2023 second semester. The data obtained were then analyzed using thematic data analysis techniques to obtain themes that can describe student perceptions of the use of the RStudio application to analyze ordinal data in statistics learning. This study succeeded in revealing the themes of perception, namely perceptions of Ease of Use, Application Sophistication, Application Usability, and Continuity of Use
