Abstract

rapid physical, emotional, and social changes. Limited knowledge about reproductive health often leads to risky behaviors such as premarital sex and unintended pregnancy. This condition is further exacerbated by limited communication between parents and adolescents as well as the lack of comprehensive reproductive health education in schools. Consequently, many adolescents have low self-efficacy in making healthy and responsible decisions for themselves. The PRIMA (Independent and Safe Adolescent Reproductive Education) program was designed to improve adolescents’ knowledge, attitudes, and self-efficacy in maintaining reproductive health independently and responsibly. This study aimed to determine the effect of the PRIMA program on the self-efficacy of senior high school students in maintaining reproductive health. This study employed a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest with control group approach. The research sample consisted of 34 respondents divided into intervention and control groups using a purposive sampling technique. The study was conducted at SMA PGRI 1 Temanggung. The intervention group received the PRIMA education through an 8-minute-21-second animated video. Data were analyzed using paired t-test and independent t-test. The paired t-test showed a significant increase in the mean self-efficacy score in the intervention group (p=0.000 < α=0.05), while no significant difference was found in the control group (p=0.237 > α=0.05). The independent t-test revealed a significant difference between the intervention and control groups after the PRIMA intervention (p=0.00 < α=0.05). The PRIMA program significantly improved adolescents’ self-efficacy in maintaining reproductive health.

Abstract

Adolescents are vulnerable to reproductive health problems due to rapid biological, psychological, and social changes, which may be exacerbated by low reproductive health literacy. This study aimed to examine the effect of the PRIMERO (Reproductive Education through Modules for Optimistic Youth Empowerment) module on adolescents’ reproductive health literacy. A quasi-experimental study with a pretest–posttest control group design was conducted among 34 adolescents aged 15 years, who were equally divided into an intervention group (n = 17) and a control group (n = 17). The intervention group received reproductive health education using the PRIMERO module, while the control group received conventional health education. Reproductive health literacy was measured before and after the intervention and analyzed using paired t-tests and independent t-tests. Data were collected using a reproductive health literacy questionnaire administered to adolescents twice, namely before and after the interventionThe results showed that the mean literacy score in the intervention group significantly increased from 194.59 to 215.06 (p = 0.032), whereas the control group showed no significant improvement, with mean scores increasing from 172.88 to 173.76 (p = 0.188). Furthermore, a significant difference in post-intervention literacy scores was found between the intervention and control groups (p = 0.001). These findings indicate that the PRIMERO module is effective in improving adolescents’ reproductive health literacy and can be used as an educational medium to support reproductive health promotion among adolescents.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze Maternal Fetal Attachment (MFA) within the context of pregnancy adaptation by examining the influence of internal and external maternal factors through a qualitative descriptive literature approach. The research employs a library study method using secondary data sources, including peer reviewed journal articles and relevant academic documents, collected through systematic literature search and analyzed using thematic analysis, data reduction, categorization, and inductive interpretation. The findings reveal that MFA is a multidimensional construct influenced by internal factors such as maternal mental health, particularly depression and anxiety, as well as positive psychological states, and external factors including social and family support. Pregnancy adaptation emerges as a key mediating process that connects these factors to the quality of maternal fetal bonding. The study also highlights that strong MFA contributes to positive infant developmental outcomes, especially in emotional regulation and adaptive behavior. These findings imply that maternal well being and supportive social environments are essential components in strengthening prenatal attachment. In conclusion, this study contributes to the theoretical understanding of MFA as a biopsychosocial process and provides practical insights for integrating mental health screening and family centered interventions in antenatal care to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

Abstract

Adolescents are a vulnerable group in relation to reproductive health issues due to limited knowledge and exposure to unfiltered digital content. Innovative digital-based educational media are therefore needed to enhance reproductive health literacy while simultaneously promoting safe and creative digital literacy. The main objective is to enhance knowledge, promote healthy digital literacy skills, and strengthen the ability of teachers and students to use and critically evaluate digital information in a wise, safe, and responsible manner. This community service program was implemented at SMA Negeri 2 Ungaran and SMK Islam Sudirman 1 Ambarawa through reproductive health education using VIRGIN (Innovative Animated Video on Reproductive Health), healthy digital literacy workshops with hands-on content analysis, and teacher mentoring in the use of animated videos as learning media. Program evaluation was conducted by assessing students’ knowledge before and after the intervention, as well as measuring improvements in participants’ and teachers’ capacities. The results demonstrated a significant increase in students’ knowledge following the VIRGIN-based educational intervention, with a p-value < α (0.03 < 0.05). The healthy digital literacy workshops were effective, with more than 80% of participants showing improved understanding and 78–85% demonstrating the ability to analyze digital content safely. Teacher mentoring enhanced pedagogical and digital competencies in approximately 85% of teachers, while 80–88% became more creative and confident in utilizing animated videos.Animated video–based reproductive health education integrated with healthy digital literacy is recommended for sustainable implementation and expansion to other educational institutions as a preventive strategy to empower adolescents to become informed, healthy, and digitally responsible individuals. Abstract

Anemia prevention is crucial because this condition of hemoglobin deficiency has serious impacts on health and productivity, such as chronic fatigue, decreased concentration and academic achievement, and weakened immune systems. In adolescent girls and pregnant women, anemia increases the risk of childbirth complications, premature births, low birth weight (LBW), and stunting. Anemia in adolescent girls remains a serious public health problem in Indonesia. Preventive efforts through health education are crucial, particularly with engaging media approaches such as animated videos. The aim is to determine the effectiveness of anemia risk prevention education (Si PERI EMA) on adolescent girls' knowledge of anemia risk prevention. This study used a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest with a control group design. The sample consisted of 30 respondents, divided into 15 respondents in the intervention group, who received a 10-minute animated video about Anemia Risk Prevention in Adolescent Girls, and 15 respondents in the control group. Data were analyzed descriptively (mean and SD), using paired sample t-tests to compare pretest and posttest results within each group, and independent sample t-tests to compare posttest results between groups. The average knowledge score increased significantly in the intervention group from 10.164 to 12.401, while in the control group the increase was insignificant from 9.283 to 9.342, with a p-value of 0.001 < α (0.05). Therefore, it can be concluded that education on anemia risk prevention using animated audiovisual media is effective in increasing knowledge among female students at An Nur Ungaran Middle School. Regular education about anemia using animated video media can be widely used in schools as part of adolescent health education programs.
