Abstract

This paper explores inclusive business practices by focusing on the relationship between investments for-profit and social impact for small-scale farmers. Value chain mapping was used and combined with business model canvas to enable fact-finding and linkage between profit-taking action and social impact in the coffee value chain. The study was performed in two regions: East Java and North Sumatra. The study interviewed 72 farmers from Bondowoso District, East Java, and 30 farmers from Mandailing Natal District, North Sumatra. The qualitative analysis revealed the role of local organization networks in supporting the extension and improving performance in value chain governance. The organization networks supported social issues and provided access to diverse resources and environments for companies to build commitments. Furthermore, the business model canvas modeled value propositions that were practically tackling the dimensions of profit and social impact to the organization's context. The coffee value chains in both regions were differ based on key features and elements of small farmers' inclusion in the coffee value chain. The findings show that the coffee business model in Mandailing Natal encouraged smallholder farmer inclusion better than in Bondowoso. Therefore, the study implies that a shifting from profit into social initiatives in inclusive business is needed. This study provides practical evidence of business model canvas in the coffee value chain cases, showing how to develop a mission social innovation in a profit organization. Abstract

This study aims to determine and analyze the role of knowledge management in improving innovation and service quality, as well as analyzing the effect of innovation on service quality in the Drajatprawiranegara regional hospital in Serang Regency. In this study the analysis of data processing using Structural Equation Modeling - Partial Least Square (SEM-PLS). The results of the analysis (SEM-PLS) explain that there is an influence between knowledge management on innovation where the application of optimal knowledge management will increase innovation in the health service process. There is a significant indirect effect between knowledge management on service quality, but innovation influences service quality. Therefore human resource management in Drajat Prawiranegara hospital must be carried out comprehensively. Cooperation between fields of work, be it medical, doctor or non-medical workers must be optimal in facing challenges and demands from changing health services.

Abstract

Indonesian palm oil plantation industry is confronted with sustainability issues that potentially restrict trade access in theglobal market. Smallholders are actors who have  an important role in palm oil plantation sustainable development. Theory of Planned Behavior (TPB) and past behavior are used as the theoretical basis to see the influence of attitude toward sustainability, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and past behavior toward smallholders' intention to implement sustainable palm oil production practices. This study aims to analyze differences in smallholders' intention to implement sustainable palm oil production practices between independent farmers and plasma farmers. The study sample consisted of 121 independent farmers and 121 plasma farmers wich is spread across Kampar Regency. Data collection was done by distributing questionnaires and analyzed using Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) with Partial Least Square (PLS) program. The result of this study indicates that attitude toward sustainability, subjective norm, perceived behavioral control and past behavior have a positive and significant effect on plasma farmers' intention to implement sustainable palm oil production practices, whereas subjective norm has no effect on the independent farmers' intention to implement sustainable palm oil production practices.

Abstract

One of the business training services that is rapidly grown is at the Occupational Health and Safety (Keselamatan dan Kesehatan Kerja (K3)) training services. PT MMK is a K3 training service company that has been developed since 2016. However, PT MMK faces some risks in its business activities. There are various problems and potential risks faced by PT MMK, so it needs a business risk management observation. The research aimed to identify and analyze the level of risk faced by PT MMK by applying a quantitative method. The primary and secondary data were used. Sampling was carried out by using non-probability techniques with purposive sampling through the expert judgment approach. There were eight respondents in the research. Meanwhile, the applied analytical methods were Cochran analysis and Godfrey risk map. The result shows that based on four divisions, PT MMK has 30 internal risks and 8 external risks. There are 4 low-level risks, 14 moderate-level risks, 19 high-level risks, and 1 extreme-level risk. Based on the highest risks, PT MMK should do detailed budgeting, so there is no over cost based on the previous training budget. Moreover, the company can also expand its market share to the other companies by offering its training.

Abstract

Rata-rata penyelesaian masa studi program magister Sekolah Pascasarjana di Institut Pertanian Bogor kurang dari dua tahun (17,5%). Oleh karena itu, faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhi baik dari aspek internal maupun eksternal perlu dikaji. Faktor internal berasal dari dalam diri mahasiswa yang meliputi kemampuan akademik dan motivasi. Faktor eksternal mencakup faktor lingkungan dan pembimbing saat menyelesaikan tugas akhir. Pengambilan data dan informasi menggunakan instumen kuesioner yang terstruktur terhadap lulusan program magister. Analisis menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis faktor, dan regresi linier berganda. Penyelesaian masa studi meliputi faktor-faktor kualitas pembimbingan, pelayanan dan lingkungan, kemampuan mahasiswa, motivasi, responsif serta gelar dan prestis. Analisis lebih lanjut menunjukkan penyelesaian masa studi sangat terkait dengan faktor-faktor eksternal yang berasal dari luar seperti layanan pendidikan dan faktor lingkungan, di antaranya lingkungan kampus yang bersih dan hijau, lingkungan belajar yang tenang dan nyaman. Responsif terhadap feedback dari pembimbing untuk segera memperbaiki tesis secara intens dan tepat waktu merupakan faktor internal.

Abstract

The importance of the ocean economy in island regional development requires the local government to formulate relevant policies according to the potential of its ocean economic activities. Based on the 2012 North Maluku Province I-O table updated to 2016, this study was conducted by aggregating 20 ocean subsectors to measure inter-sectoral linkages, output multipliers, income multipliers, and labor multipliers in the ocean economic sector. The I-O analysis results show that the leading sectors of the ocean economy of North Maluku Province are fisheries, ore mining, and construction. The marine sector which has excellent development potential in the economic development of North Maluku Province is based on the output multiplier, namely the metal ore mining sector, the food, and beverage industry, marine transportation, and the provision of food and beverage. Based on the number of labor multipliers, the education service, construction, and ore mining sectors can absorb high labor compared to other sectors.

Abstract

Peningkatan jumlah populasi penduduk yang diikuti dengan perlambatan ekonomi dan stagnasi stok dan volume produksi perikanan tangkap menjadi masalah dalam perekonomian nasional. Perikanan budi daya diharapkan menjadi salah satu alternatif penggerak perekonomian nasional di masa datang. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi isu dan permasalahan serta menganalisis kinerja pembangunan perikanan budi daya nasional berdasarkan tipologi ekosistem budi daya. Penelitian ini dilakukan di 17 provinsi yang memiliki kontribusi lebih dari lima puluh persen produksi nasional, yang didasarkan pada 3 (tiga) ekosistem, yaitu; air payau, air laut, dan air tawar. Metode analisis yang digunakan untuk menganalisa efisiensi dan produktivitas adalah Data Envelopment Analysis (DEA). Data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah data primer dan sekunder yang bersumber dari forum grup diskusi dan data stastitik. Data luas lahan dan jumlah pembudi daya digunakan sebagai input sedangkan volume produksi dan indeks penerimaan pembudi daya ikan sebagai output. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa isu dan permasalahan perikanan budi daya bersifat multi dimensi yang dipengaruhi oleh aspek ekologi, ekonomi, dan sosial. Hasil perhitungan nilai efisiensi dan nilai indek Malmquist menunjukkan bahwa masih terjadi inefisiensi pada pembangunan perikanan budi daya nasional, meskipun secara rata-rata terjadi peningkatan produktivitas relatif di masing-masing tipologi ekosistem, yaitu air laut, air payau, dan air tawar rata-rata sebesar 8%, 13%, dan 12%. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa kinerja pembangunan perikanan budi daya nasional belum optimal selama tahun 2013 – 2017, tetapi berpotensi untuk ditingkatkan di masa datang apabila didukung dengan implementasi kebijakan yang memperkuat efisiensi manajemen sistem produksi dan pengembangan inovasi teknologi.

Abstract

IPB University should implement its function: teaching, research and community services through collaboration with external partners, especially in national scope.  However, the Memorandum of Understanding sometimes did not follow by concrete programs.  In addition, the university should maintain string relationship to improve it partner’s commitment. Therefore, it is necessary to analyze the factors of relationship marketing to IPB’s partners.  This study used survey methods to 100 respondents with questionnaire as the tool. The study used descriptive analysis to describe partner profiles and answers with top three boxes method.  The results identified that based on location, partners were concentrated in Java with the most types of institutions are district and city governments. Cooperation initiators generally come from partners. The maximum duration of cooperation is 1-5 years. Number of collaboration 1-5 activities dominate partners. In general, partners are still actively collaborating with IPB, with more active MoU compared to those that are non-active. Trust has the highest perception value of respondents and followed by communication and shared values. Partner's perception of commitment to cooperation and satisfaction is good, while the benefits of cooperation are categorized sufficient. The variable relationship benefits need to be of concern to IPB and be improved by increasing competencies, human resources and appropriate technology that are applicable to the industrial world and local governments.

Abstract

Since 2016, XYZ Insurance has measured customer satisfaction using a CXI value but it has not shown the relationship of using self-servicing digital application to customer satisfaction. This research will examine the impact of usage of digital applications on customer experience, customer satisfaction, and customer loyalty at XYZ Insurance. The research is used non-probability sampling with the quota sampling method by taking survey from 203 respondents who have used the features in the eXYZ application at least 2 times,. The specified sample criteria are customers who have used the eXYZ application at least twice since downloading the application. In this research, with an expected error rate of 5%, the number of samples required is 349, from a population of 3800 customers. then the data is processed using SEM PLS. From this research it was concluded that usage of digital applications has a significant relationship and has a positive impact on customer experience, customer experience has a significant and a positive impact on customer satisfaction, customer experience does not have a direct positive impact on customer loyalty but it has indirect impact through customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction has a significant and a positive impact on customer loyalty. The most important factors for customers when using digital applications are digital application innovation, the convenience, and perceived value to customers. Abstract

Suppliers are one of the business partners who play an important role in ensuring the availability of raw materials needed in production activities in a company. Companies in meeting the needs of raw materials in production activities of course conduct a selection of suppliers who can meet the supply of quality raw materials and on time in the delivery of goods. The purpose of this study is to develop a method of assessing the performance of palm oil suppliers that does not only look at economic criteria but also pays attention to sustainability factors, namely economic, social and environmental criteria in choosing the best supplier. The supplier performance assessment method aims to obtain the priority of the selected supplier by using the Multi Criteria Decision Making-PROMETHEE method. Assessment of supplier selection is carried out by filling out a questionnaire by two expert respondents, namely the Chief Engineer and Quality Assurance Assistant. This case study of sustainable supplier performance assessment was conducted in one of the state-owned companies engaged in plantation commodities, namely PT Perkebunan Nusantara III. Based on the type of decision-making using the PROMETHEE method, the suppliers selected and meeting the supplier performance assessment with sustainability criteria were UD. Satya Radja and UD. Meji Jaya suppliers with the highest Net Flow value of 0,1250.
