Abstract

MSMEs significantly contribute to employment and economic growth, particularly in Indonesia, and impact the socioeconomic conditions of the lower middle-class community. The Fourth Industrial Revolution has transformed the fundamental managerial aspects of the industry. The aim of this era was to revolutionise industries through digitalisation. Digital technology can help MSMEs adapt swiftly and accelerate through digital transformation. This study investigates the influence of digital technology on the preparedness of MSMEs in Bogor Regency, West Java Province, for Industry 4.0, and on enhancing business performance using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). This study employs a quantitative approach with structural equation modelling (SEM) analysis tools for 116 business actors. Readiness indicators are measured using organizational resilience, infrastructure systems, manufacturing systems, data transformation, and digital technology. The findings of this study indicate that the adoption of digital technology by business actors has a minimal and insignificant impact on business performance in MSMEs, but does influence the preparedness of MSMEs to face Industry 4.0. Readiness indicators indirectly affect the use of digital technology and business performance.

Abstract

The Performance of Indonesian researchers is relatively low at the international and ASEAN levels. Moreover, LIPI (Indonesian Institute of Sciences) as one of the largest research institutions in Indonesia, its ranks on webometrics continue to decline. This study aims to prove the factors that influence the performance of LIPI researchers.  This study aims to examine the effect of competence, training, organizational support, organizational climate, and researchers'characteristics on performance. With a stratified proportional sampling data collection technique, we obtained 153 researchers in research centers in LIPI. Data was collected using a questionnaire manually and online. Data were analyzed using partial least square (SEM- PLS), multiple linear regression, and descriptive statistics. The analysis concluded that research competence, training, functional position, academic qualification, and age had a significant effect on performance. But, organizational support and organizational climate had no significant effect on performance. Research competence contributes to the highest influence on performance. From this study, we recommended an increasing frequency of organizing international scientific writing training to improve researcher performance.

Abstract

Implementation of Sustainable Supply Chain Management (SSCM) is crucial for cement manufacturers to enhance competitive advantage while minimizing economic, social, and environmental impacts. As a result, cement companies must assess, manage, and report the sustainability performance of their supply chains. However, there is no appropriate measurement framework to evaluate SSCM performance. This study designs a specific and relevant SSCM performance measurement framework, referring to global cement industry indicators, empirical indicators of Indonesian manufacturers, and validation of seven cement supply chain specialists. A systematic literature search was conducted using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) method, and the Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) was used to assign weights to performance indicators. This study develops an SSCM framework that integrates three aspects of sustainability: environmental, social, and economic. The framework consists of 22 performance indicators, including six environmental indicators, eight social indicators, and eight economic indicators. Testing the framework on leading cement company in Indonesia resulted in a strong performance score of 80.7. This study addresses the existing gap in research related to supply chain sustainability and, for the first time, provides locally developed SSCM performance indicators that are aligned with the context of the Indonesian cement industry. This study also discusses the implications of the developed SSCM framework for sustainability education and capacity building within the Indonesian cement industry, highlighting the importance of integrating environmental, social, and economic performance indicators into training programs and educational curricula to foster sustainable business practices.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital transformation has led to innovations in the financial sector, one of which is the paylater service. This service has significantly influenced financial behavior, particularly among millennials in Indonesia. Paylater allows consumers to make purchases immediately and defer payments with flexible terms, making it increasingly popular due to its accessibility. The growing adoption of this service reflects a consumerist trend that may contribute to increased debt, especially in urban areas. This study aims to examine the influence of financial literacy, digital literacy, self-control, lifestyle, and financial behavior on consumer behavior in using paylater services among millennials in Bogor City. A quantitative approach was employed, involving a sample of 280 respondents from diverse age groups, occupations, and educational backgrounds. Data were collected through questionnaires and analyzed using the SEM-PLS technique with SmartPLS. The findings indicate that financial literacy, lifestyle, self-control, and financial behavior have a significant positive impact on consumer behavior, whereas digital literacy does not show a significant influence. This study provides important implications for paylater service providers, the government, and society to enhance financial literacy and self-control, promote responsible lifestyle and financial behaviors, and encourage the wise use of paylater services.

Abstract

The role of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) in influencing company performance has become a central topic in many investment considerations today. However, in its development, ESG alone has not been sufficient to deliver a significant improvement. Therefore, Digital Transformation (DT) has begun to be utilized to enhance the effectiveness of ESG. This study aims to analyze the effect of ESG on the performance of companies listed in the Indonesia Stock Exchange Environmental, Social, and Governance Leaders Index (IDX ESGL), with digital transformation as a moderating variable. The sample consists of 45 companies that were consistently included in the IDX ESGL index over five evaluation periods from 2019 to 2023. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and panel data regression, with the aid of Microsoft Excel, Python, and EViews 13. The findings of this study indicate that ESG has a positive and significant impact on financial performance, as proxied by Return on Assets (ROA) and Return on Equity (ROE), as well as on firm value, as measured by Tobin’s Q (TQ). However, digital transformation (DT) as a moderating variable does not strengthen the effect of ESG on financial performance or firm value. Based on the panel data regression results, the best-fitting model for the analysis without moderation (ESG only) is the Random Effect Model (REM) for Model 1 (ROA), Model 2 (ROE), and Model 3 (Tobin’s Q). Meanwhile, for models with DT as a moderator, the best-fitting models are the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) for Model 4 (ROA) and Model 6 (Tobin’s Q), and REM for Model 5 (ROE).

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) on customer loyalty, mediated by customer trust and satisfaction, at PT. Swen Inovasi Transfer, which implements a CSR program in the form of biogas digester assistance. The program seeks to introduce biogas as an environmentally friendly renewable energy source and to raise public awareness of the importance of clean energy. This research employs SEM-PLS analysis to examine the direct and indirect effects of CSR on customer loyalty. The findings reveal that CSR has a significant positive impact on customer satisfaction and loyalty, and it can enhance loyalty through increased satisfaction. However, customer trust was not found to have a significant effect on loyalty. These findings suggest that effective CSR programs should incorporate efforts to enhance customer satisfaction in order to build sustainable loyalty, with a particular emphasis on transparency and product quality.
