Abstract

This research aims to reconstruct the leadership role of school principals in the digital age, moving from the traditional managerial paradigm to the Murabbi leadership model. Specifically, this study explores how Day Care principals implement transformational leadership to build a sustainable innovation ecosystem in a technology-based education environment. This study uses a qualitative approach with multiple case study designs. This research was conducted at Al-Ghazi Day Care. Data collection was conducted through semi-structured in-depth interviews with principals, innovation coordinators, and senior teachers, as well as participatory observation of curriculum development meetings and technology-based learning activities. Data are analyzed using thematic analysis to identify patterns, strategies, and challenges in leadership practice. Key findings show that the reconstruction of leadership roles occurs through three main dimensions: (1) Technopedagogical Vision, where school principals not only adopt technology but also embed Islamic pedagogical vision in it; (2) Collaborative Empowerment, which is shifting authority from hierarchical to facilitative by creating a safe space for teachers to experiment and fail; and (3) Cultivation of Digital Spirituality, which is to guide the school community to use technology ethically and meaningfully according to Islamic values. The role of Murabbi is manifested in guiding, inspiring, and serving as a role model in innovation, not just in managing resources. This study concludes that the Murabbi leadership model offers a practical framework for transformational leadership in modern Islamic educational institutions. This model allows the principal not only to be an innovation manager but also a character builder and an architect of an ecosystem that fosters creativity authentically and spiritually. The practical implication of this research is the need for a leadership development program that integrates technological competencies with Islamic pedagogical leadership values.

Abstract

The development of science and technology in the era of globalisation requires students to have adequate adaptability and psychological resilience in facing academic and social pressures. Resilience is an important ability for students to survive, bounce back, and thrive from various difficulties they experience. This study aims to describe the resilience of Madrasah Aliyah (MA) students in Surakarta City based on their subjective experiences. This study uses a qualitative approach with a phenomenological method, involving seven MA students as key informants. Data collection was conducted through participatory observation and in-depth interviews. Data analysis was conducted using the Miles and Huberman model, which includes the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and verification-based conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that student resilience is in the good category, as demonstrated by their ability to regulate emotions, self-control, optimism, problem-solving skills, empathy, self-efficacy, and the ability to derive meaning and lessons from difficult experiences. Resilience in this study was measured using resilience indicators based on Reivich and Shatte's aspects, which were consistently demonstrated in the informants' narratives. Student resilience was also strengthened by the support of parents, teachers, and peers in dealing with academic and social pressures.

Abstract

This study examines the incorporation of Islamic psychological ideas to enhance parenting resilience for Indonesian moms facing postpartum baby blues. This research utilized a bibliometric analysis of Scopus-indexed literature from 2014 to 2025 to systematically delineate the intellectual structure, thematic progression, and research horizons at the convergence of Islamic psychology, maternal resilience, and postpartum mental health. The research revealed 119 pertinent articles, examined using the Bibliometrix R package (v4.1) and VOSviewer (v1.6.20) for co-citation, keyword co-occurrence, and temporal trend visualization. Results indicated an increasing academic transition from individual-focused treatment methodologies to spiritually informed and culturally contextualized resilience frameworks. Islamic psychological ideas, especially tazkiyatun nafs (purification of the soul), serve as a theoretical basis connecting emotional management, cognitive restructuring, and social support systems. Spiritual activities including dhikr, sabr, syukr, and tawakkul have been demonstrated to augment maternal coping, diminish physiological stress indicators (cortisol), and boost oxytocin-mediated bonding. Moreover, familial concepts highlighting sakinah (tranquility), mawaddah (affection), and rahmah (compassion) bolster collective resilience and societal cohesion. The results of the bibliometric analysis indicated publication trends, collaborative networks, and thematic clusters related to Islamic psychology and postpartum mental health. Rather than demonstrating the clinical capacity of Islamic psychology or evaluating therapeutic outcomes, the findings primarily mapped the development of the field—showing which themes dominate. This study advances the decolonization of psychological knowledge by providing a culturally relevant framework that incorporates faith, emotion, and adaptive functioning, facilitating future evidence-based applications in clinical and community contexts.

Abstract

THE ROLE OF SOCIAL SUPPORT FROM THE REGIONAL DISASTER MANAGEMENT AGENCY (BPBD) IN HANDLING DISASTER VICTIMS IN SURAKARTA CITY Natural disasters are events that can cause damage and loss of life. Natural disasters are unavoidable events that often leave deep scars of suffering for the individuals and communities affected. Disaster management in Surakarta City is regulated in an integrated manner by the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Surakarta City, which focuses on mitigation, preparedness, emergency response, and recovery. In handling disaster victims, social support is a very important factor. This study aims to determine the role of social support provided by BPBD officers in handling disaster victims in Surakarta City. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of interviews and participatory observation, which were conducted directly through the involvement of seven BPBD officers as informants. The data analysis techniques used include data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results of the study indicate that BPBD officers provide good social support in handling disaster victims in Surakarta City. The social support provided includes emotional support, informational support, and instrumental support. This study also shows that social support plays an important and positive role for BPBD officers in carrying out their duties. Social support not only plays a role in the process of handling victims, but also functions as an effective stress reliever for officers in dealing with disaster situations.

Abstract

Current classroom management in Indonesian pesantren often overlooks psycho-spiritual dimensions needed to mitigate academic stress, and empirical data on faith-based interventions is lacking. This quasi-experimental study aimed to evaluate the impact of a structured eight-week Islamic psycho-education intervention on student engagement and academic stress levels. Using a pretest–posttest non-equivalent control group design, participants were 60 pesantren students selected through purposive sampling. The experimental group received an Islamic psycho–education–based classroom management intervention integrated into routine instructional activities, incorporating the muhasabah technique and reflective learning journals grounded in selected Qur’anic verses. Data were collected using the Student Engagement Scale (SES) and the Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scales (DASS-21). MANCOVA analysis revealed that the intervention significantly increased student engagement (mean difference = +12.4, p < 0.01) and reduced academic stress (−9.7, p < 0.05) compared to controls. Specifically, the integration of tawakal and tazkiyah emerged as a dominant predictor of reduced anxiety (β = −0.42, p = 0.003). This study advances educational and Islamic psychology by empirically supporting the integration of Islamic spiritual constructs into psycho-educational interventions. In practice, the findings support the use of structured Islamic psycho-education in pesantren classroom management and student counseling, offering a culturally responsive model for policy and curriculum development in faith-based education.

Abstract

Discriminatory parenting is the consistent unfair or differential treatment of children by parents, which then negatively impacts the child’s mental health. This study explores in depth the impact of discriminatory parenting and family violence on an individual’s mental health. This qualitative case study focuses on the experiences of a young adult who felt neglected and under-represented, especially financially, compared to her siblings. In addition, she experienced repeated physical violence from authority figures that left her deeply traumatized, compounded by the lack of protection from other family members. This condition triggered feelings of anger, injustice, disgust, and even suicidal ideation. Despite the various pressures, the participant showed significant resilience, developing adaptive coping mechanisms such as isolating herself, crying, and seeking comfort through art. Crucial support from close friends was a significant turning point that helped her through difficult times, demonstrating the vital role of social support in resilience. Spiritual beliefs also provided an internal source of strength that allowed her to find meaning in her suffering and view challenges as a process of self-strengthening. The results of this study confirm that discriminatory and abusive parenting can seriously damage mental health, but also highlight the extraordinary capacity of individuals to survive and find a way out. Practical implications emphasize the need for comprehensive psychological interventions, such as Client-Centered Therapy, CBT, Trauma-Informed Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, as well as the importance of psychoeducation and strengthening social support networks for vulnerable individuals.
