Abstract

This research was conducted in April 5 to May 15, 2017 in Laboratory of Fishing Gear Material of Aquatic Resources Faculty of Fisheries and Marine University of Riau, Pekanbaru. The purpose of this research is to know the increase of PA net yarn length after soaking in fresh water and sea water. The method used in this research is the experimental method, the result data for changes of the length net yarn is processed using the formula according to SNI 08-0889-1989 and then analyzed descriptively. From the result of this research, there are changes of polyamide (PA) yarn length after soaked in fresh water and sea water with average length will change after soaking in freshwater and sea water of 1002.51 mm and 1002.89 mm while average change of length after several condition in freshwater and seawater of 1002.51 mm and 1002.79 mm. The authors suggest to do for further research on the changes of the net yarn length after soaking in freshwater and sea water with the addition of soaking time and conducted research on the tensile strength of PA yarn after immersion. Keywords: Changes Of Net Yarn, Fresh Water, Sea Waters

Abstract

AbstrakHandline fishing is a fishing gear that is widely used by fishermen in Lengayang District in Pesisir Selatan Regency, West Sumatra Province with a total of 245 fishing gear. The operation of handline fishing gear by fishermen in Lengayang District is usually assisted by FADs as a means of collecting fish and has never used a dip lamp in water as a fishing aid. To determine the effectiveness of the use of a dip lamp in water, it is necessary to compare the catches from hand line fishing gear with and without the use of a dip lamp in water where the dip lamp in water has a power of 50 watts. Of the three treatments, the highest catch was found in the operation of handlines using a dip lamp in 50 watts of water with a total catch of 23 fish compared to the catch from the operation of handline fishing equipment without the use of dipping lights in water with a total catch 15 tails Key word : Handline, fishing

Abstract

ABSTRACThe dominant fishing gear used in the Ombilin River is the bamboo trap compared to other fishing gear. The process of making bamboo traps takes a long time and the type of bamboo used as the basic material for the bubu is increasingly difficult to obtain, so some fishermen try to use PVC wire counters. This study aims to compare the number of catches using bamboo traps and wire traps operated in the Ombilin River. The results showed that the difference in the number of catches based on weight and tail was more wire traps than bamboo traps. The number of catches based on tails and weight obtained by bamboo traps with an average catch for 15 days of capture is 37.33 fish (2533.20 grams), while in wire traps the average catch is 52.86 fish (2810.87 grams). Keywords : bamboo trap, wire trap, number of catches.

Oceanic fishing gears are almost the same as ordinary gill nets. It's just that what distinguishes this oceanic net fishing gear from ordinary nets is the size of the ship, the type of net and the size of the mesh size and area of operation. Whereas for the construction part such as buoy, ballast, lever, upper rope, lower rope, and leash are basically the same as ordinary gill nets. Keywords: Construction, Oceanic Nets, Karimun.
