Abstract

This study explores contemporary patterns of cultural transmission of gamelan among children in Surakarta through the interconnection between formal school learning and community-based learning. Using an ethnopedagogical perspective grounded in Social Learning Theory (Bandura, 1986), the research examines how observation, imitation, modeling, and reinforcement function as interconnected processes in karawitan education. Data were collected through an ethnographic approach that included interviews, observations, and visual documentation by observing extracurricular practices and gamelan learning activities in elementary school programs in Surakarta. The findings show that gamelan learning functions not only as musical instruction but also as a moral enculturation process, where collective practices cultivate social values such as rukun (harmony), gotong royong (cooperation), and tata krama (cultural respect). These findings affirm that the sustainability of Javanese musical heritage depends on active collaboration between schools and local communities, which transforms traditional music into a living pedagogical medium. Integrating traditional arts into formal education can foster mindful, meaningful, and joyful learning, a culturally grounded approach that blends skills, empathy, and collective happiness.

Abstract

The internalization of Pancasila values among elementary school students remains insufficient, particularly regarding tolerance, responsibility, and social awareness, highlighting the importance of contextual character education grounded in local wisdom. This study aims to describe the effectiveness of a Kebo Kinul dance instructional video incorporating local wisdom in enhancing elementary school students’ understanding of the value of cooperation. This study employs a qualitative approach with a descriptive design. Data collection was conducted through observation, interviews, and documentation involving one fifth-grade teacher, 10 students, and one school principal. Data analysis was carried out through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions, while data validity was ensured through triangulation techniques. The results of the study indicate that the use of Kebo Kinul dance educational videos is effective in enhancing students’ understanding of the value of cooperation. This is evidenced by increased student engagement in group activity discussions, as well as the emergence of collaborative behaviors such as cooperation, mutual respect, shared responsibility, unity in completing tasks, tolerance, responsibility, and social awareness. The conclusion of this study shows that educational video media on Kebo Kinul dance containing local wisdom is effective as a means of instilling collaborative character values, containing elements of local wisdom in understanding the value of collaboration in elementary schools.

Abstract

The presence of children with special needs (CSN) in non-inclusive public elementary schools has become increasingly visible due to the limited number of inclusive schools and the growing demand for equitable education services. This study aims to describe the existence of CSN in non-inclusive public elementary schools in Gladagsari District based on 2025 recapitulation data. The study employed a descriptive qualitative approach using secondary data collected in July and November through documentation and data compilation techniques. Data were analyzed using a descriptive-comparative method to examine changes in the number, distribution, and types of special needs identified. The findings indicate an increase in identified CSN, with slow learners as the dominant category. This trend reflects improved awareness among schools; however, it has not been supported by adequate educational readiness, including the provision of special education services and adaptive learning strategies, highlighting the need for stronger inclusive education policies.

Abstract

Textbooks are elements of the curriculum that function as learning resources for students, while for teachers, textbooks function to assist the implementation of learning. The purpose of this research is to identify and explain verbal-linguistic intelligence and logical-mathematical intelligence in student textbooks for grade IV Bahasa Indonesia Kurikulum Merdeka. This research is qualitative research using literature study, document study, and note-taking techniques. The validity of the data obtained was tested through source triangulation in the form of a teacher's handbook and through increased persistence. The data obtained were then analysed using the Miles and Huberman interactive model. The results of the study are presented in tabular form and described using descriptions to show representations of verbal-linguistic intelligence and logical-mathematical intelligence. The results showed that writing skills were dominantly developed in activities in students' textbooks while listening skills were still low. Meanwhile, student activity in textbooks shows a dominant representation of verbal-linguistic intelligence compared to logical-mathematical intelligence.

Abstract

In the learning process, assessment is crucial since it establishes students' differences from one another and their level of quality. Complete assessment will influence learning and serve as a guide for future policies. The precision with which evaluation principles are used will have a significant impact on validity and objectivity. In order to evaluate math learning in elementary schools, this study will look at how authentic assessment methods are applied. This study is a qualitative descriptive one. The subjects of the study were teachers, administrators, and students. In this study, interviews, observation, and document analysis were employed to obtain data. The Miles and Huberman model of interactive data analysis approaches is used in this study's data analysis method. Techniques for assessing the validity of data rely on a triangulation of sources, methods, and times. The findings of this research indicate that the principles of elementary school mathematics learning assessment are effective in realizing the authentic assessment concept.
