Abstract

Effective management of school facilities and infrastructure is essential for supporting quality education. This study evaluates how facilities and infrastructure are managed in elementary schools using the CIPP (Context, Input, Process, Product) evaluation model. A descriptive qualitative approach was used, with data collected through observations, interviews, and document analysis. The research was conducted at SD Negeri Tekaran 2, Wonogiri, Central Java, involving the principal and six teachers as participants. Data were analyzed using the Miles and Huberman model.Findings indicate that SD Negeri Tekaran 2 has adequate infrastructure, including well-equipped classrooms, a library, sports and arts facilities, sanitation, and technology resources. In the input phase, infrastructure management is supported by transparent budget planning, involving procurement, routine maintenance, and emergency allocations with expert involvement. The process involves periodic inspections, damage reporting, and asset inventory. In the product phase, well-maintained facilities have positively impacted learning outcomes, increased student motivation, and enhanced practical skills, fostering a supportive and effective learning environment. The study concludes that systematic and transparent management of school facilities significantly contributes to the quality of education in elementary schools. Well-maintained infrastructure not only supports teaching and learning but also enhances the overall educational experience and outcomes.

Abstract

This study explores how teacher collaboration within the Kelompok Kerja Guru (KKG/Teacher Working Group) enhances foundational literacy in Phase A (Grades 1–2) of Indonesian elementary schools. Responding to the persistent issue of low literacy performance among early-grade students, the research investigates collaborative strategies to improve reading and writing skills within the framework of the Kurikulum Merdeka. Employing a qualitative case study design, the study involved 8 public elementary schools in the Yudistira Cluster, Selogiri Subdistrict. Participants included school principals, teachers, and the KKG coordinator, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected over nine months via interviews, observations, and document analysis, then analyzed using the Miles and Huberman framework. Findings indicate that systematic collaboration in planning, implementation, and evaluation—supported by reading corners, enriched libraries, and a 15-minute daily reading routine—led to improved student engagement and foundational literacy outcomes. Teachers employed differentiated instructional strategies, including the Alphabet, Phonics, SAS, and Global Methods, tailored to students’ initial abilities. KKG meetings served as reflective spaces to share best practices and design interventions based on student data. The study highlights the potential of teacher-led learning communities to strengthen literacy instruction in low-resource settings. It recommends sustained institutional support and further research using longitudinal methods to assess long-term student outcomes. Ethical clearance was obtained, and informed consent was secured from all participants.

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of the small group discussion (SGD) learning metode based on interactive video media in improving the engagement and learning outcomes of elementary school students. The method used is descriptive qualitative research with a case study approach. Data were collected through observations, interviews, and thematically analyzed documentation. The results of the study show that the SGD learning metode allows students to be more active in discussing, exchanging opinions, and building understanding of concepts collaboratively. The use of interactive video media increases the appeal of learning, facilitates the understanding of concepts, and strengthens students' motivation to actively participate. Compared to the lecture method, the SGD metode showed increased student involvement, confidence, and better understanding of the material. However, there are challenges such as the variety of student participation, the limitations of technological facilities, and the need for teacher guidance in managing discussions. Therefore, this study recommends improving technology-based learning facilities, teacher training, and learning differentiation strategies. The implications of this study highlight that the interactive video-based SGD metode can be an innovative approach in improving the quality of learning in primary schools and is worthy of further study. Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model based on paired cards on elementary school students' critical thinking skills in fractions. This study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental method and a matching-only pretest-posttest control group design. The sampling technique used was cluster random sampling, with a sample size of 78 students, consisting of 40 students in the experimental group and 38 students in the control group. Data collection was conducted using a critical thinking ability essay test containing indicators for interpretation, analysis, and evaluation. Data analysis was carried out using normality test, homogeneity test, N-gain test, and independent sample t-test assisted by SPSS Statistics 25. The results of the study showed that the paired card-based TGT model had a positive influence on the critical thinking skills of elementary school students with a significance value of 0.001 in the independent sample t-test. The experimental group achieved a higher increase in critical thinking skills (0.7048) compared to the control group (0.6090). Learning activities involving group discussions, educational games, and tournaments can increase student engagement in the mathematics learning process. This research shows that game-based cooperative learning models can be used as an alternative mathematics learning strategy to develop elementary school students' critical thinking skills. Furthermore, the use of matching cards can help create more active, collaborative, and meaningful learning. This study integrates the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) model with paired card media in elementary school mathematics learning to improve students' critical thinking skills on fraction material, which has been limitedly studied in previous studies.
