<![CDATA[This article explores the theme of women’s silent resistance against patriarchal oppression as depicted in Yiyun Li’s A Flawless Silence and Ni Komang Ariani’s Sepasang Mata Dinaya yang Terpenjara. Through a comparative literary analysis, the study examines how silence becomes a strategic form of resistance employed by the female protagonists Min and Dinaya who navigate the constraints of patriarchal expectations within their respective cultural settings. Rather than interpreting silence as submission, this article highlights how both characters use silence to assert agency, preserve identity, and subtly challenge the power structures that confine them. Central to this analysis are the interwoven themes of domestic constraint, cultural expectation, and psychological endurance, which shape the characters’ experiences and strategies of resistance. The study contributes to discussions on women’s narratives of struggle and resilience, offering insights into how literature portrays quiet defiance as a meaningful response to gender-based oppression.]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this research is to reveal the influence of the environment to Maggie s behavior in Crane s Maggie: A Girl of the Streets In conducting this research in which the data are in the form of words rather than numbers In analysing the data the writer used objective and psychological approach The data collected in this research from two sources primary and secondary sources Primary sources is Crane s Maggie: A Girl of the Street and secondary sources are the other books and data from internet that related to this research The result of this research shows that Maggie has a miserable life that caused by her bad environment Caused by her family condition her job her neighbourhood her love relationship with Pete and all the problems that she has to face in everyday of her life But the conditions make her depressed At the end of the story Maggie chooses a wrong decision She kills herself < p>]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to determine the actions of racial discrimination committed by white people against black people in The Help < em>This research used qualitative method in terms of using words or text In conducting this research the data are collected from primary and secondary sources The primary source is the novel entitled The Help< em> written by Kathryn Stockett The second sources are some related books and articles from the internet that are supporting this research The result of this study is presented descriptively As the result of this research the researcher found that there are many actions of racial discrimination reflected in The Help< em> It can be seen in some several sections First there is a Discriminatory Law namely Jim Crow Law of the Southern United States Second the Discriminatory Stereotypes that the white people created about the black people such as Blacks are dirty Black people are Thieves Black People as Diseases and Black People are Dumb And the last is the Discrimination in Public Services that can be found in residential area library education health services voting and public transportation < p>]]>

<![CDATA[The Minahasan community of North Sulawesi Indonesia has witnessed a significant shift in women s roles and empowerment in recent years This study examined the economic and social political empowerment of Minahasan women including their participation in income generating activities entrepreneurship community leadership and advocacy for rights and representation However this empowerment has also brought about challenges as Minahasan women grapple with the double burden of balancing their newly acquired roles with traditional domestic responsibilities of childcare and household duties Through a comprehensive library research approach this study analyzed the tensions and role conflicts experienced by Minahasan women as they navigated the contrasting societal expectations Key findings revealed the strain on family dynamics potential neglect of children s upbringing and marital relationship challenges arising from the double burden The study also identified strategies and best practices for reconciling these contrasting roles such as promoting equitable domestic workload sharing establishing childcare support systems advocating for flexible work arrangements and fostering societal attitude changes towards gender norms Ultimately this research highlights the importance of addressing the double burden challenges faced by Minahasan women to ensure their empowerment is sustainable and does not come at the cost of sacrificing traditional caregiving responsibilities or family well being < p>]]>

<![CDATA[The purpose of this study is to reveal the causes of resistance against Aristocracy in France Revolution as seen in Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities < em> This research employs a qualitative method which is richly descriptive In conducting this research the data was taken from primary which is Dickens A Tale of Two Cities < em> and secondary sources The historical approach to literature simply means that the critic the person trying to understand any work of literature looks beyond the literature itself to the broader historical The findings show that the resistance against aristocracy arises as a result of conditions in poverty that still dominate most of the community in which the community received improper treatment The government services to the community in Charles Dickens A Tale of Two Cities< em> were considered a failure and were made worse by the dirty and slum environmental conditions of the community which made the people angry and human rights violations also occurred The author views that the study s conclusions would encourage readers to evaluate literary works and comprehend the historical events the novel portrays < p>]]>

<![CDATA[This research explored the impact of Video Based Learning VBL and Web Based Learning WBL on enhancing the understanding of conditional sentences Types 1 2 and 3 among Grade 10 students at SMA UNKLAB Airmadidi Employing a quasi experimental design 60 students were assigned to two groups: one received instruction via VBL while the other was taught using WBL Pre test and post test results were examined using IBM SPSS Version 26 with both paired sample and independent sample t tests applied The paired sample t test indicated notable improvement in both groups The average score for the VBL group rose from 33 60 to 77 87 and for the WBL group from 33 20 to 59 73 The independent sample t test yielded a Sig 2 tailed value of 0 001 signifying a statistically significant difference between the groups While both approaches were effective VBL demonstrated a more substantial effect on students grammar proficiency Additionally analysis showed no significant difference in performance based on gender suggesting that both teaching methods were equally effective for male and female students Overall the findings underscore the advantages of incorporating digital media in grammar instruction with VBL particularly enhancing student engagement and understanding of complex grammar topics This study affirms the value of multimedia in English teaching and highlights the potential of visual and interactive content to boost learner motivation and success < p>]]>

<![CDATA[Feminism is an enduring social issue persisting from ancient times to the present The struggles of early feminists resonate today with patriarchy still evident in modern media such as Greta Gerwig s adaptation of Little Women This research examines how Little Women portrays the social issues of feminism focusing on the experiences of the main character Utilizing Sugihastuti s feminist approach which defines feminism as a movement advocating for equality between men and women across political economic educational and social spheres the study explores the film s depiction of these themes Additionally Betty Friedan s feminist theory is employed to delve deeper into the feminist issues presented The findings highlight several key feminist themes including the societal expectation that women must marry to secure their future the notion that women s roles are confined to homemaking and the resistance to these norms by characters who choose their paths The film illustrates the tension between traditional expectations and the characters desires for independence revealing the complexities of feminism and its relevance in contemporary society Through this analysis the research underscores how Little Women reflects ongoing feminist struggles and challenges the persistent patriarchal norms offering a nuanced portrayal of women s autonomy and empowerment< p>]]>

<![CDATA[In this era of technology it helped us to easily get the other interesting learning media when the textbook become bored especially through this pandemic of Covid 19 Most of learners want improvement of their language skills in their learning process novel could be the interesting and powerful booster This systematic review aims to examine the effectiveness of using novels in learning process to improve the language skills in English with showed the benefit and the weakness or problem that may encounter while using novel and also the solution to optimize the use of novel in learning process Previous research study about Novel in ELT published 2009 to 2021 Eleven previous studies were included and reviewed in terms: context focus and main findings Result showed that mostly learner s language skills reading writing speaking and listening in English are increased Novel also can improve grammar vocabulary pronunciation social culture critical thinking personal growth motivation and foster student centre learning This systematic review could help learners and teacher to consider the novel as a learning media that could be included in learning process to improve their language skills in English For the future researcher this systematic review could be another reference to improve the research about novel in ELT especially the right and reliable solution to face the lack of novel when apply in ELT < em>< p> nbsp;< strong>< p>]]>

<![CDATA[This study aims to discuss what environmental damage is discussed in the novels The Color Purple by Alice Walker and Bekisar Merah by Ahmad Tohari In this study using a qualitative method as the method data collection is done by analyzing the dialogues in the novel and then writing it down and researching it The use of supporting sources is also applied in this study For further research it is suggested to put more emphasis on what environmental damage occurred in the novel and compared it with environmental damage in the real world Comparisons like this are very interesting to study but due to the lack of available sources it is requested to conduct further research < em>< p>]]>
