Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of obtaining information about the impact of the spread of Covid-19 on the implementation of Study From Home at the elementary level. As well as getting information about the effectiveness of the implementation of Study From Home at the elementary school level. This study uses a qualitative method by studying literature from several sources, both print and electronic media, as well as online books and journals. Journal searches were carried out through Google Scholar with the keywords "Impact of Covid" and "Implementation of Study From Home". Then selected with the criteria that there are discussions related to the impact of Covid and the implementation of SFH. The research technique used is documentation and data analysis techniques, namely data collection, data reduction, data display and conclusion drawing.

Abstract

This study used a class action research (CAR) method, which was carried out in cycle I and cycle II that consists of the stages of planning, action, observation, and reflection. The data collection in this study used test and non-test techniques and to analyze the data was carried out quantitatively and qualitatively, with a classical completeness target of 85%, with a KKM value of 78, and a KKM value of attitude with a predicate (B). Based on the results, the learning process of compiling explanatory texts has increased in every aspect of his observations, with an average value of three observers of 79.7% not reaching 85% in the first cycle, increasing in the second cycle by 95.14%, or an increase of 10.14%. For the results of an increase in the composition of the explanatory text, compilation increased from the results of pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II by 76.3% increased in cycle I by 80% increased in cycle II with an average value of 83.3%, or with a percentage the increase between pre-cycle I to cycle I was 3.7% and between cycle I to cycle II by 15%. The results of students' responses from cycle I to cycle II experienced changes with the results of responses that were getting better or positive in cycle II related to activities learning to compose explanatory texts with Problem Based Learning (PBL) using media images of natural events of forest fires and haze in Central Kalimantan that occur every year during the dry season.

Abstract

This study aims to describe (1) spelling mistake on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya, (2) describe diction mistake on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya. This study is a qualitative research. Qualitative research is used to describe the mistakes in the use of spelling and diction on banners and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya. Based on the results of the data analysis of spelling and diction mistakes on banner and billboards in the city of Palangka Raya, there are 55 language mistakes, the dominant data is the data of spelling mistake from the use of diction mistake data. There are 36 data of spelling mistake, and 19 data of diction usage mistake. The results of the analysis based on the formulation of the problem are as follows. First, the mistake in the use of spelling that were analyzed were 36 data. There are 20 data of spelling mistakes on banners and there are 16 data of spelling mistakes on billboards. Second, there were 19 data that were analyzed in the mistakes of diction. There are 8 data of diction mistakes on banners, and 11 data diction mistakes on billboards.

Abstract

This study aims to (1) describe the obsession of the characters in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata, (2) describe the inner conflicts experienced by the characters in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata, (3) describe the relevance of the obsession of the characters in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata in literature learning in high school. The method used in the research is a qualitative description method. The data in this study were sentences, dialogues, and paragraphs in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata. The data source in this research is the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata published in February 2021 published by PT Bentang Pustaka with a total of 336 pages. The data collection technique is done by using the library / reading technique, taking notes, and then entering it into the data collection table. Data analysis techniques used data reduction, data exposure, and inference. The validity of the data was obtained through source triangulation. The results of this study indicate that (1) the obsession of the characters in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata, there are four characters who have an obsession, Desi is one of the characters who has an obsession with Desi's obsession, which is obsessed with finding students who are geniuses in mathematics in Ketumbi's village. (2) inner conflict in the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata, there are ten characters who have inner conflicts, Desi is a character who often experiences inner conflicts. (3) the relevance or relevance of the novel Guru Aini by Andrea Hirata in learning literature in class XII high school with basic competencies. 3.3 Analyzing fiction in novels.

Abstract

The aims of this research are (1) to describe the form of code mixing in Resign! (2018) by Almira Bastari, (2) describes the function of code mixing in the novel Resign! (2018) by Almira Bastari. The approach used in this research is a qualitative approach. The qualitative approach in this study is to describe the form of code mixing and the function of code mixing. The data analysis technique used in this study is using library techniques and reading and note-taking techniques. The results of this study indicate that there is a code mixing event in the novel Resign! (2018) by Almira Bastari. First, the form of code mixing found in the novel Resign! (2018) by Almira Bastari totaling 251 data. The data specifically relates to the inclusion of elements of English into Indonesian. (1) mixed code in the form of words, there are 143 data, (2) mixed code in the form of phrases, there are 55 data, (3) mixed code in the form of clauses, there are 11 data, (4) mixed code in the form of repetition of words, there are 2 data, (5) mixed code in the form of expressions or idioms, there are 3 data, and (6) code mixing in the form of baster, there are 37 data. Second, the code mixing function contained in the novel Resign! (2018) Almira Bastari's work is (1) to respect the interlocutor there is 1 data, (2) to emphasize a certain intention there are 23 data, (3) to show self-identity there are 30 data, (4) as the influence of the subject matter there are 2 data, (5) as speech opponent specifications there are 192 data, (6) as quotations there are 3 data. As for the code mixing function, the inclusion of English elements into Indonesian as sentence inserts and as repetition was not found by the researchers.

Abstract

Media is one of the essential things in the teaching-learning process. One of them is video maker. Video maker is one of the applications that can be used as a media in teaching writing. The research aim is to see the utilizing of video maker as a media in writing greeting cards. There were sixteen students as a sample, especially eighth grades students. The researcher gave them ten items’ of questionnaires. The findings of this research can be divided into two categories. The first was video maker gave the students motivation in learning English. They were in statement one (84,44%) statement two (94,44%), statement four (88,89%), and statement six (93,33%).  All of the statements have category very high. It meant video maker gives the students motivation to learn writing. The second was the students interested in using video maker as a media in writing. They were in the third statement (81,11%) and the category was very high, the fifth statement (83,33%) and the sort was very high, the eighth statement (76,67%) and the sort was high, the ninth statement (68,89%) and the sort was high, the tenth statement (86,67%) and the sort was very high. There was no questionnaire in medium, low or very low levels. Based on the result, it can be concluded that the utilization of video maker as a media in writing at SMPN-1 Mantiat Pari was positive. The students gave a positive response to it.

Abstract

Intermediate English Speaking expected the students to be able to use vocabulary that is relevant to the material and fully participated in casual conversation including describing an object. In the 21st century, critical thinking, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration or 4Cs skills should be mastered by students. So, the lecturer uses Project Based Learning as the method suggested by the government, together with TikTok, the popular application among the students, which can facilitate them to achieve their goals. This paper will present the implementation of Project Based Learning in the Intermediate English Speaking class of English Department, FKIP, Palangka Raya University, and the utilization of the TikTok application as the tool for creating the project. This paper also describes the improvement of students’ speaking abilities in their video projects. The implementation of PBL in the Intermediate English Speaking classroom by utilizing TikTok is a great combination in increasing students speaking ability.

Abstract

The general research objective is to obtain an overview of the value of struggle in a film and to find out its implications for drama learning for Grade VIII students of junior high school. This study uses a qualitative descriptive analysis approach, in which the researcher records carefully and carefully the data in the form of words, sentences, pictures, and videos..Researchers found 40 values ​​of struggle in the film Memorization of Shalat Delisa and have described their implications for drama learning for class VIII students. The value of the struggle that was found the most was the value of the struggle for patience consisting of 19 data and the value of the struggle for the unyielding spirit consisting of 11 data, while the least was the value of the struggle for cooperation consisting of 5 data and the value of the struggle for mutual help consisting of 5 data. The film Memorization of the Delisa Prayer provides many descriptions of the value of struggle that can be presented as examples for students at school.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe (1). describes the markers in the KKN Desa Penari film (2). Describe the signified meaning in the KKN Desa Penari film, (3). Describe the myths resulting from signifiers and signifieds, and (4). Describe the implications of this research with learning Indonesian in schools. The method in this study uses a qualitative approach in collecting data using descriptive methods using Roland Barthes' theory which includes signifiers, signifieds and myths. Qualitative data were obtained from dialogue excerpts and screenshots taken from the film KKN Desa Penari. The results of this study show that (1) There are 19 data in the form of markers in the Penari Village KKN film (2) There are 19 data about the form and meaning of the sign in the Penari Village KKN film (3) The meaning of myths in the Dancer Village KKN film and (4) The implications in this study are adjusted to basic competencies 3.16 and 4.16 in grade VIII junior high school in odd semesters.

Abstract

Choosing the right learning media during the Covid-19 pandemic is very important. Students are helped in understanding the learning material delivered with learning media, even though they are studying at home. The purpose of this study is to find out how Edmodo as a medium is used in teaching and learning activities. This research is a research that uses a qualitative approach and uses a phenomenological method to students and teachers. The conclusion obtained in this study is that the communication that occurs between teachers and students in Edmodo takes place effectively through the delivery of material that is easily understood by students.
