This research is motivated by the lack of understanding of students in learning mathematics. So that the Problem Based Learning approach was chosen by means of peer tutor discussions. The research process was carried out in three cycles, where each cycle includes 4 stages, namely: 1) the student orientation stage on the problem 2) the student organization stage, 3) the stage of guiding the investigation, 4) the stage of developing the work, 5) the analysis and evaluation stage. Data was collected by purposive sampling, namely 10 students of class XI SMK Karya Bhakti Pusdikpal. Technical analysis of the data is seen from the learning outcomes or the scores obtained from three cycles with a minimum limit of 85% reaching the KKM score of 75. The results obtained from the implementation of the research show an increase, where the student's score has increased from an average of 64.5 to 81.4 and becomes 85.6. Therefore, it can be concluded that the application of the Problem Based Learning Method by means of peer tutor discussions can improve students' mathematics learning outcomes and teachers should use this method to increase student activity in understanding the concepts of mathematics learning.

The purpose of this study is to analyze the increase in understanding of mathematical concepts in quadratic equations. The method used is Classroom Action Research with the stages of research using the Taggart model. The subjects in this study were class IX students at MTs An-Nur Cikalongwetan with a sample of 15 students. Data collection techniques using test and non-test instruments. The test instruments used were pretest and posttest with indicators of understanding students' mathematical concepts. The non-test instrument was in the form of a questionnaire related to student learning independence. Data analysis using descriptive qualitative with tests processed using N-Gain, while the non-test is processed using a Likert scale. Based on the N-Gain analysis, it was concluded that there was an increase in students' understanding of mathematical concepts from the results of the students' pretest and posttest with a total percentage of 62.3% with quite effective criteria. Student learning independence is at an average percentage of 61.04% with strong criteria.

This study aims to examine the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students at MTs An-Nur class VIII on Cartesian Coordinates using a scientific approach. This research is a Classroom Action Research (CAR). The research subjects are junior high school students at MTs An-Nur class VIII with a total of 22 students. The research instruments used in this study were pretest and posttest questions on mathematical problem-solving abilities, observation sheets for teacher and student activities, and student learning independence questionnaires. This classroom action research was carried out in 2 cycles, with the stages of the research, namely: planning, action, observation and reflection. The results showed that there was a mathematical problem solving ability of junior high school students using a scientific approach.

In this study using classroom action research. The goal is to find out information on the application of the discovery learning model to online learning of set materials to improve the learning outcomes of junior high school students. With the implementation of research on class VII-E students at one state junior high school in Cimahi City, totaling 37 people. This class action research is carried out in 2 cycles, where each cycle has 2 meetings. The research instrument uses observations, study test results, and journals conducted online. Analyze the data in the form of average and percentage results with descriptive statistics. The average score of 71.64 with a percentage of 56.75% is the learning outcome of students in the first cycle and the average score of 80.74 with a percentage of 86.48% is the learning outcome of students in cycle II. The activities of teachers and students in each cycle in online learning are quite good and effective but there is something that needs to be improved in student activity during the online learning process. It is concluded that there is an increase in student learning outcomes in online learning, so the discovery learning model can be applied to class VII students of the set material.

This paper aims to describe students' mathematical critical thinking skills through a scientific approach to the subject matter of algebraic forms in grade VII SMP Pataruman. This research uses classroom action research method. The subjects of this study were 25 students of class VII-A of SMP Pataruman Cihampelas in the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year. This research was conducted through 2 cycles, each of which was carried out by following the procedures, namely planning, implementing actions, observing, and reflecting. The first cycle was carried out by distance learning (online), while the second cycle was carried out face-to-face (offline). The data collection instruments used in this study were test instruments in the form of pretest and posttest, learning independence questionnaires, and observation sheets for teacher and student activities. The results showed that there was an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills in grades VII-A of SMP Pataruman on the subject matter of algebra by applying a scientific approach.

This study aims to examine the application of a scientific approach in improving the learning outcomes on the material of Relations and Functions. The research subjects were students of class VIII-D of SMP Pataruman for the academic year 2021/2022 as many as 20 people. This research is a classroom action research conducted in two cycles consisting of four meetings. The stages of this research are: Planning, Action, Observation, and Reflection. This stage is applied repeatedly to achieve the target so that student learning outcomes experience an increase in the mastery of learning scenarios. The results showed that the application of the scientific approach was able to improve learning outcomes in each cycle. It can be shown that the average score in the first cycle was only 57.3% and increased in the second cycle to 81.85%. Student learning outcomes increased by 24.55% from the first cycle to the second cycle. So it can be concluded that the scientific approach is believed to be very effective and has a positive effect on learning that is able to improve student learning outcomes in the material Relations and Functions in class VIII-D SMP Pataruman.

This study intends to investigate and learn about the improvement of mastery of the concept of Relations and Functions in Grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung. The hypothesis of this research action is that via scientific approach, the mastery of the idea of Relation and Function of Grade VIII Students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung may be improved. With a total of 32 students, this study was conducted on grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 28 Bandung in the 2020/2021 school year. The instrument utilized is a learning outcomes test that assesses students' mathematical concept skills. Initial tests (before action), cycle I and cycle II tests (after actions), and observation sheets for teachers and students are all examples of testing. Planning, action implementation, observation and assessment, and reflection are all part of this study approach. The data processing technique in this study is to find the average value by using Microsoft Excel. Cycle I's average test score was 73.86, up 18.21 points from the average beginning test result of 55.65. The average score of cycle II test results was 82.45, up 26.8 points from the average initial test result and 8.59 points higher than cycle I test results. The mastery of the idea of Relationships and Functions in grade VIII students of SMP Negeri 28 Bandung can be improved using a scientific method, according to work indicators.

Research with a scientific approach in an effort to help students' mathematical understanding of grade IX SMP in transformation material has the aim of analyzing the effect of the scientific approach on students' mathematical understanding ability on transformation material (reflection). In this study, the type of classroom action research was used, with the research subjects with the criteria being students of class IX-A SMP IT Budi Luhur Cimahi. The number of samples used were 21 students for 2 cycles. The analysis was carried out with test and non-test instruments, giving questions as research test instruments consisting of 5 pre-test and post-test questions in the form of descriptions that will measure students' mathematical understanding abilities. While the non-test instrument is a questionnaire scale of 15 statements given to students to measure students' self-confidence. The data processing technique for the test instrument used is the N-Gain analysis test, while for the non-test instrument, Microsoft excel is used. The results showed that the scientific approach affected the mathematical understanding ability of class IX-A students with average criteria with a value of 0.55. The average value of the pretest is 3.86 and the average value of the posttest is 12.71. Based on these data, there was an increase in the value of 8.86, while the average value of the questionnaire was 68.41%, meaning that it had a strong effect on students' self-confidence.

The purpose of this research is to study the mathematical thinking skills of junior high school students in solving mathematical problems by using the Problem Based Learning approach on fractional materials. This study is a class action study conducted in class VII B Junior High School Pasundan Sidamulih. This study is a class action study. The subjects in the study were 22 students, 12 male students, and 10 female students. This study was conducted as many as 2 cycles, accompanied by the provision of pretes and postes. The data collection technique carried out in this study uses test instruments in the form of pretes and postes, non-test instruments in the form of observation sheets of student and teacher activities. Based on the analysis obtained the average pretest score of 11.95 and the average postes score of 18.45. The data showed an increase in students' mathematical critical thinking skills by 21.74%.

The purpose of this study is to analyze and find out the mathematical communication skills of junior high school students by using a scientific approach to the material of straight-line equations. This research consists of two cycles based on the Kemmis & Taggart model. which consists of: planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The subject of this study was 30 students of VIII grade from SMP IT Budi Luhur Cimahi of 2021/2022 academic year. The test instrument used in accordance with the indicators of mathematical communication ability is in the form of a description of as many as 5 numbers. Normalized gain data was generated in this study, resulting in a score of 0.36. Data processing in the study was obtained from normalized gain data, with a score of 0.36. This shows that students' mathematical communication skills have improved, with a moderate category. The non-test instruments used included a questionnaire on the scale of learning interest attitudes as many as 16 balanced statements with positive and negative responses. The results of the response to students' interest in learning mathematics have a positive effect on students' mathematical communication, namely 76.6 with a positive category.
