Abstract

Abstrak                                                                                 Berdasarkan observasi yang telah dilakukan di SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi, masih dibutuhkan penyegaran terutama pendalaman materi Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, hal ini mengingat bahwa materi Penelitian Tindakan kelas sangat dibutuhkan bagi guru dalam rangka berinovasi membenahi proses pembelajaran agar proses pembelajaran terlaksana dengan baik. Mengingat pentingnya materi tersebut bagi guru-guru di SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi, maka harus dilakukan pelatihan agar guru-guru memiliki keterampilan dan handal dalam memahami pelaksanaan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas dengan baik. Tujuan pengabdian ini adalah untuk memberikan wawasan dan pengetahuan kepada para guru agar guru-guru mampu melaksakan Penelitian Tindakan Kelas, guru-guru dapat melakukan penelitian dalam rangka memperbaiki proses pembelajaran di sekolah. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini adalah workshop, tanya jawab dan pelatihan. Adapun tahap pengabdian adalah observasi menidentifikasi masalah dan kebutuhan, pelaksaan kegiatan berupa workshop, tanya jawab dan pelatihan tentang penelitian tindakan kelas, dari hasil pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa guru-guru di SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi sangat membutuhkan pendalaman materi penelitian Tindakan kelas, hal ini terlihat dari hasil workshop, diskusi dan pelatihan, mereka sangat perperan aktif selama kegiatan tersebut.  Kata kunci: penelitian tindakan kelas; SMPN 1 Muaro Jambi. AbstractCommunity service has been carried out at SMP Negeri 1 Muaro Jambi with the title "Deepening of Classroom Action Research Material for Teachers at State Junior High School 1 Muaro Jambi". Based on observations that have been carried out at State Junior High School 1 Muaro Jambi, there is still a need for refreshment, especially deepening of Classroom Action Research material, this is considering that Classroom Action Research material is very much needed for teachers in order to innovate to improve the learning process so that the learning process is carried out properly. Given the importance of this material for teachers at State Junior High School 1 Muaro Jambi, training must be carried out so that teachers have the skills and are reliable in understanding the implementation of Classroom Action Research properly. Abstract

Developing students’ critical thinking skills remains a central challenge in contemporary science education, especially in physics learning that demands analytical reasoning and reflective understanding. Integrative pedagogical models such as the STEM-R (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics, and Religious Values) approach have emerged to promote deeper engagement by connecting scientific inquiry with moral reflection. This research aimed to analyze the influence of STEM-R-based Problem-Based Learning (PBL) on students’ critical thinking skills compared with conventional PBL. A quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group was employed, involving 46 students from MAN 2 Kota Jambi, consisting of 24 in the experimental class and 22 in the control class. The experimental group received PBL integrated with STEM-R, while the control group was taught using standard PBL without reflective or integrative elements. Data were collected through validated critical thinking assessments and analyzed using the Shapiro–Wilk test, Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test, and Mann–Whitney U Test. The findings indicated significant improvement in both groups, with a higher increase in the experimental class (Z = 4.108, p < 0.001) than in the control class (Z = 2.944, p = 0.003). The between-group comparison showed no significant difference (p = 0.288), although the experimental class achieved a higher mean trend. These results suggest that embedding reflective and scientific integration through STEM-R can enhance students’ analytical and evaluative reasoning in physics learning.

Abstract

Critical thinking skills are essential in physics education, particularly in understanding abstract concepts like wave functions in quantum mechanics. However, traditional teaching methods often fail to foster these skills effectively. This study explores the use of an interactive e-module titled Quantum Physics: Wave Function to enhance critical thinking skills among students in a physics education program. A quasi-experimental design was employed with an experimental group using the e-module and a control group following conventional methods. Pretest and posttest results showed a significant improvement in critical thinking skills for the experimental group (average increase: 26.30) compared to the control group (average increase: 11.70). Statistical analysis confirmed the e-module's effectiveness (t = 2.95, p = 0.01). The e-module fostered active participation, problem-solving, and independent exploration, demonstrating its potential to improve critical thinking and engagement in complex physics topics. These findings highlight the value of integrating technology into physics education to enhance learning outcomes.

Abstract

This study aimed to develop a printed practicum guide for the Millikan oil drop experiment using glycerol liquid as a source of oil droplets and to determine its feasibility based on expert validation and student perceptions. The study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach using the 4-D development model proposed by Thiagarajan, consisting of the define, design, develop, and disseminate stages. The research was conducted with 35 Physics Education students of the Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, University of Jambi, who were enrolled in the Physics Experiment course. Data were collected through observation, interviews, validation questionnaires, and student response questionnaires. The developed practicum guide was evaluated by material and media experts using a four-point Likert scale. The material validation results showed an average score of 3.8 with a feasibility percentage of 95%, indicating a very good category. The media validation results obtained an average score of 3.5 with a feasibility percentage of 88.3%, also categorized as very good. Furthermore, student perception data showed an average score of 3.51 with a percentage of 87.96%, indicating that the practicum guide was highly accepted and considered useful for supporting independent learning. These findings demonstrate that the developed practicum guide is valid, practical, and feasible to be used as a learning resource in physics experiment courses, particularly for the Millikan oil drop experiment using glycerol liquid.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh sulitnya mahasiswa memvisualisasikan konsep abstrak dalam statistik kuantum yang berdampak pada rendahnya pemahaman konsep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan e-modul Termodinamika Statistik berbasis Flip PDF Professional berbantuan MATLAB pada materi statistik Maxwell-Boltzmann, Bose-Einstein, dan Fermi-Dirac yang valid dan praktis. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Research and Development (R&D) dengan model pengembangan 4D (Define, Design, Develop, dan Disseminate). Instrumen pengumpulan data meliputi lembar validasi ahli materi, ahli media, serta angket persepsi mahasiswa menggunakan skala Likert. Temuan utama menunjukkan bahwa e-modul yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria sangat layak, dengan hasil validasi ahli materi pada tahap akhir mencapai rata-rata 98,3% dan validasi ahli media sebesar 85,4%. Selain itu, uji coba pemakaian menunjukkan respon mahasiswa berada pada kategori sangat baik dengan rata-rata persentase sebesar 84,5%. Hasil ini mengindikasikan bahwa integrasi simulasi MATLAB ke dalam e-modul mampu memvisualisasikan grafik distribusi partikel secara dinamis dan akurat. E-modul ini terbukti efektif digunakan sebagai media pembelajaran mandiri yang interaktif untuk membantu mahasiswa Pendidikan Fisika dalam mengatasi hambatan belajar pada materi yang bersifat abstrak.
