Abstract

The first period of halal certification obligations according to Undang-Undang Nomor 33 Tahun 2014 and its derivatives will end on October 17, 2024, including food and beverage products. Therefore, the halal certification process for products of micro, small, and medium enterprises needs to be carried out promptly. The aim of this research is to examine the factors influencing the willingness of agricultural commodity-based UMKM players to pay for halal logistics services. This study employs a quantitative approach with purposive sampling for data collection and SEM-PLS for data analysis. The research includes 350 respondents who are UMKM players based on agricultural commodities. The findings of this study reveal that, in addition to the variable knowledge on halal, other variables such as concern on halal, awareness on halal, perception of halal logistics, and service capability have a positive and significant influence on the willingness to use halal logistics services. Furthermore, the willingness to use halal logistics services can encourage halal logistics service providers to renew their halal logistics certificates. The research findings will be beneficial for policymakers and managers of halal logistics companies as it helps them understand the factors that drive the adoption of halal logistics services.

Abstract

Farming activities that require love of the environment, tenacity, creativity and responsibility are expected to be able to improve the productive and independent character of program participants. The target participants for this program are teenagers who take part in the taklim assembly. Implementation methods include surveys, outreach, training, mentoring, evaluation and reporting. The survey was carried out by visiting potential partners, requesting their willingness to partner in carrying out activities and determining the time and place for socialization and training activities on hydropnic farming as a form of backyard farming. Socialization and training were carried out by inviting mosque teenagers and parents of Islamic study students who were motivated to take part in the activities. Furthermore, mentoring activities are carried out periodically until the plants are ready to be harvested. After the first harvest, several partner members were interested in continuing backyard farming activities using a hydroponic system and growing plants in pots/polybags. The results of monitoring before reporting the progress of this activity show that it is ready to harvest for the second period and the hybrid red chili plants planted in polybags have started to bear fruit. This condition indicates that the participants' motivation to carry out production activities, one of which is backyard farming, is starting to grow. It is hoped that program participants will be skilled in carrying out backyard farming and be able to develop it into an additional source of family income, so that apart from being beneficial for a greener environment, it also provides economic benefits. In order to measure the success of the program, the implementers conducted a survey via questionnaire to participants regarding the participants' attitudes towards socialization and training activities as well as towards hydroponic cultivation as a form of backyard farming practice. The results of filling out the questionnaire have been tabulated and analyzed at the next stage

Abstract

The realization of national food security is expected to be built on regional food security. Local governments are obliged to build their own regional food security, and contribute to national security. This is in line with the mandate of Law No. 23/2014 on Regional Government, which states that food is a mandatory matter for the central and regional governments. In relation to this background, this study aims to determine the availability and affordability of food in the East Priangan region, as one of the food production centers of West Java Province. The research method used is mixed method research with the dominance of quantitative design. Based on the results of the analysis, the research can be concluded that the food security conditions of regencies and municipalities in the East Priangan region are categorized as strong. However, based on the results of the comparative analysis among the regencies and cities, it shows a quite unique condition. The condition of the level of food availability (independent) is inversely proportional to the condition of the level of affordability. Regencies and municipalities that have a high marketable surplus of food tend to have a relatively low level of affordability. Conversely, regencies and municipalities with high food affordability have low marketable surplus.

Abstract

Abstract

Dry land has great potential to support increased agricultural production, but its status is critical and farmers generally have weak capabilities (especially on capital). There is also a practice that destroys the environment and low technology adoption resulting in low income. Therefore, farmers are required to think rationally so that their needs are met through a livelihood strategy that is not limited to livelihoods but rather a livelihood strategy through the use of agricultural development capital. This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the livelihood strategies and livelihood systems of dry land farmers. The research method used a survey in two selected sub-districts, namely Cibalong and Karangnunggal, Tasikmalaya Regency, with a population of 3,684 dry land farmers, then the sample was taken by proportional simple random sampling, as many as 44 farmers from Parung Village, Cibalong Sub-District and 59 farmers from Cikupa Village, Karangnunggal Sub-District, so that the total sample is 103 people. The research was conducted from May to July 2023. Farmers' livelihood strategies were analyzed by the income and expenditure structure of farmer households and the purchasing power of farmers. Meanwhile, the farmer's livelihood system was analyzed descriptively in relation to the farmer's access to natural resource capital, economic capital, social capital, human capital and physical capital. The results showed that the strategy for fulfilling the needs of farmer households was carried out by seeking income from agriculture and non-agriculture. The average income of farmers from farming is IDR 17,793,227.18 per year and from non-agriculture is an average of IDR. 3,893,689.32 per year. So that the average total income of farmer households per year is IDR 21,686,916.50 or IDR 1,807,243.03 per month. Expenditures for farmer households IDR. 16,590,417.48 per year (for agricultural businesses IDR. 8,909,495.15 and for non-agricultural businesses IDR. 7,680,922.33 per year). As many as 36 percent of farming families are categorized as food insecure, while others are categorized as food secure. Based on the power value, all farming families are able to meet their expenses. The results of the analysis of farmers' livelihood systems related to capital factors (natural capital, economic capital, socio-cultural capital, human resource capital and infrastructure capital) are needed to support farmers' livelihood systems through sustainable Integrated Polyculture Plantation Farming (IPPF) management. 88.36 percent of respondents agreed and strongly agreed that natural capital is capital that supports farmers' livelihood systems through sustainable IPPF.
