Abstract

AbstractThis study aimed to analyze the effect of food prices on the development of inflation in Indonesia. Indonesia's inflation showed a declining pattern in 2017 to 2021. An analysis of the effect of food prices on inflation is needed to evaluate changes in food prices that cause and contribute to inflation. Food prices fluctuate in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020 to 2021 because regional restrictions and mobility can affect the distribution process and availability of food ingredients. Food consumption had a fairly large proportion of total household consumption in developing countries, so changes in food prices would have an impact on economic conditions through demand and supply mechanisms. The analytical method used was multiple linear regression. The data used in the multiple linear regression analysis was secondary data consisting of food prices, namely rice, chicken meat, beef, chicken eggs, shallots, garlic, red chilies, cayenne pepper, cooking oil, granulated sugar and inflation for the July period. 2017 to July 2021. The results of the analysis explained that food ingredients shallots, rice, beef, and cooking oil had a significant effect with a negative coefficient direction on inflation, namely deflation tends to occur in food price movements. Garlic, chicken meat, and sugar had a positive effect on increasing inflation. Keywords: Price, Inflation, Commodity

Abstract

This study aims to determine the volatility and market integration between the price of corn in the Indonesian spot market and futures market in the international market. The data used in this research is secondary data consisting of Indonesian corn spot price and corn forward price referring commodity exchange, Chicago. Data in the form of monthly time series in 2007 until 2016. ARCH / GARCH method is used to measure the volatility at spot and forward price, whereas the market integration of spot and forward corn is used Johansen Cointegration and Engel-Granger Causality method. The results show that spot and forward prices of corn occur high volatility. The best ARCH/GARCH model for spot price is GARCH (2,0) with the volatility value of 0,91 and for forward price is GARCH (2,0) with the volatility value of 1.12. It means that volatility of spot and forward influenced by the increase and fluctuations of spot and forward price two previous periods. Between the spot and forward market, there is market integration and a one-way causal relationship. The market integration indicates there is long-run relationship, while one way indicates the spot price effect on the forward price, not vice versa.

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

Abstract

One of the problems in fulfilling the staple food consumption of rice in Indonesia is the rice distribution system. Delivery performance is one of the important measurements in the supply chain system since it is an indicator of the accuracy of the quantity and time of grain delivery from rice farmers involved in partnership with PT MDP. Respondents used in this study consisted of 30 rice farmers chosen through purposive sampling technique in Pamarican District, Ciamis Regency, West Java. The analytical method used is multiple linear regression or multiple linear regression model with Ordinary Least Square to analyze the influence of the distance of the farmer to the grain collection point, the length of time the farmer makes inventory, the experience of farming, the farmer's storage capacity, and the method of payment for grain or the transaction system on the delivery performance. The results of the analysis show the variables of distance, inventory, and transaction systems. The distance variable has a significant positive effect, the inventory variable has a significant negative effect, and the cash transaction system will improve the delivery performance of farmers to PT MDP. Farmers make cost efficiency for grain delivery by collecting grain first. A decrease in delivery performance occurs when farmers store the grain longer

Abstract

Crude Palm Oil (CPO) commodity trading has been carried out domestically and exported, so that theprice developments formed are domestic trading prices in the spot market and global prices ininternational market level. Price fluctuations in CPO agriculture increased the risk of trade causinguncertainty in the spot market and derivatives market. Price uncertainty was the impact of theinability of a market to follow the price changes in other markets. Research on CPO prices in thederivatives market and spot market was aimed to analyze market cointegration and causality.Johansen Cointegration Test and the Granger Causality Test were applied to this research. TheJohansen Cointegration test results explained that the derivatives market and the spot market ofCrude Palm Oil (CPO) were not long-term cointegrated. The Indonesian CPO market has not been ableto become an international reference market due to derivative transactions and lack of literacy. Thespot market that was unable to follow the movements of the derivatives market might be caused byprice fluctuations due to uncertainty during the Covid-19 pandemic with social restrictions on globaltrade activities. There was one-way causality from the analysis using Granger Causality. The causality test depicted the derivatives market affected the spot market, so that changes or shocks in thederivatives market could be transmited into spot market. The derivatives market at the global levelheading to Rotterdam as a market leader showed price discovery function, while the Indonesian spotmarket became market follower. The demand of CPO in the European market was high for biofuelsand many industral purposes and there were regulations on the use of CPO which have contributedto the influence of the spot market in Indonesia. The derivative market provided future priceinformation intended minimize the uncertainty of price changes.

Abstract

Supply chain performance measurement is conducted to evaluate the goal achievement organization and determine its position towards competitors. This study aimed to analyze the supply chain performance of rice at the farmer level using Supply Chain Operational Reference (SCOR). This study is conducted using a case study approach and purposive sampling to locate. Analyze methods using calculation of performance score in every indicator of SCOR attributes, and then the result will be compared to superior card score. Comparing results will indicate the score of parity, advantage, or superior. Results showed that some performance in supply chain activities is not optimal yet, so it has to be fixed. Activities that need to fix to reach a superior score are order fulfilment, order fulfilment cycles, cash to cash cycle time, daily stock, and total supply chain cost. We recommend that MDP Company needs to increase the volume of grains absorbed by farmer partners by adding market targets to push assets flow. The farmers had to reduce moreover remove activities that impacted increasing supply chain costs. In addition, it needs accompaniment from MDP Company to the farmer's partner, especially at post-harvest management, in order to increase the quality of milling raw material and pass the market qualification.
