Digital technology that is growing rapidly at this time also provides a significant contribution. Photos that record an event can be immediately disseminated in seconds using digital cameras and computer devices that have internet facilities. the photos that analyzed the meaning of photo denotations that appear such as mass mobilization, burning actions due to clashes between the masses and the police as well as photos of the Jakarta Governor's trial non-active Basuki Tjahja Purnama or Ahok reinforces the narrative that delivers news showing the two daily newspaper media giving support or partisanship to the actions of defending Islam 411 and 212. The meaning of connotations that appear in photographs can be seen from the photo taking process which generally from the upper and front sides of the object gives an impression of object density in the resulting image, further reinforcing the assumption of daily media alignment who only saw the Defensive Action of Islam 411 and 212 as a news commodity not a movement that defended the banners of Islam or defended a suspect in the religion, namely Basuki Tjahja Purnama or Ahok.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the communication patterns of President Jokowi-Ma'ruf's campaign team in the 2019 elections in North Sumatra, the communication management of the campaign team, the response of the voters, and the results achieved by the campaign team. The data sources consisted of primary data, namely from the North Sumatra regional campaign team and secondary data from various books, documents, journals, articles, websites and others related to this research. The main informants were the campaign team which was determined purposively in accordance with the research objectives. Besides that, the community also distributed questionnaires to the voters for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin presidential candidate in several cities and districts, namely Medan, Tebing Tinggi, Simalungun, and Tapanuli Tengah as a form of representation from the regions in North Sumatra because of the diversity of ethnicities, cultures, and religion. The results of the study indicate that the communication pattern of President Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin's regional campaign team in North Sumatra is carried out in broad lines through two forms, namely direct communication with the community and indirect communication or by using mass media. The delivery of infrastructure development work programs to the campaign masses received a response from the voting public. Campaigns through the approach and involvement of religious leaders can also attract sympathy from the voters. The voters for the Jokowi-Ma'ruf presidential candidate in North Sumatra generally answer because of the figure of the presidential candidate. Meanwhile, the position of Kiyai Haji Ma'ruf Amin as a vice presidential candidate is a factor that can influence or increase the electability of Muslims in determining the victory of a presidential candidate.

Bomb explosions carried out by the ISIS network in Indonesia attracted the attention of the mass media, both local, national and international, including detik.com and republika.co.id. Framing reporting aims to make the audience also have a similar tendency to the media read. The purpose of this study is: To find out the tendency of reporting on ISIS by detik.com and its implications for the reader's perception of the Islamic state. This study uses a qualitative approach with a type of descriptive research that aims to explain the implications of detik.com framing related to ISIS terrorism news in Indonesia, especially regarding audience perceptions about the Islamic Caliph. Media framing was carried out through the analysis of Zondang Pan and Kosicki. For framing effects the reception theory is used. The speakers were activists of Islamic Student Organizations, IMM, KAMMI, HMI, HIMMAH and PMII. The results showed that detik.com's readers' perception of the Islamic State was a positive concept, but it did not have to be realized in a formal or forced form, especially in Indonesia. Detik.com readers also view the concept of Islamic sharia as something positive, but not made in formal form through statutory regulations. In detik.com news, it is more likely to be neutral by submitting field facts and opinion facts in the news without relating to matters related to Islam.

Abstract

This study examines in depth the communication model of the Islamic Shari'a Service in implementing Islamic Shari'a policies in Langsa City, the themes that are communicated and the communication barriers faced. This research was designed with a qualitative descriptive approach. Data were collected by in-depth interviewing 11 informants who were taken purposively. Repeated observations of the location are also part of the data collection which is then analyzed using Miles and Huberman's interactive analysis techniques. The results of this study indicate that; First, there are two communication models commonly used by the Langsa City Islamic Shari'a Service in implementing Islamic Shari'a policies, namely the SMCRE (Source, Message, Channel, Receiver, Effect) communication model, and the chain and bitang communication model. Both of these communication models are practically applied in the form of interpersonal communication, group communication and mass communication. In the end, this study argues that a communication model that is relevant to the socio-demographic situation and condition of the community can support the effectiveness of the messages conveyed so that the community can support the implementation of Islamic law in Langsa City.
