Abstract

Abstract

This study uses the weighting approach to evaluate decision-making strategies in order to rank the importance of the traits that a leader must have in order for the Cadet Regiment Commander to create a transformational leadership model. A decision support system's weighted sum or simple weighting method can be applied to issue solving through the use of Simple Additive Weighting (SAW). This kind of research is called mixed method, since it uses a survey methodology along with qualitative and descriptive quantitative research methods. The author, who is actively engaged in the research, is the research instrument in and of himself. The purpose of this study is to determine the respondents by means of a purposive technique, in which information for research objectives will only come from specific individuals or parties. The study's findings should determine which leader qualities are most important for creating a transformational leadership model. This will be done by applying the SAW method, which is based on five weighting criteria for transformational leadership: motivation and traits, knowledge, skills, and abilities, organizational culture, vision, and vision implementation. Of the five characteristics of the leader, motivation and traits are the criteria that are the top priority to be developed based on the respondents' assessment with a value of 22.3%. Where a leader must have the ability to achieve, ambition, persistence, passion, initiative, have leadership motivation and have the values of honesty/integrity, confidence, originality, creativity and flexibility/adaptability needed to set an example, encourage and motivate other cadets towards achieving the vision of the organization. Followed by weighting on other criteria such as knowledge, skills, and abilities at 20.5%, organizational culture at 18.8%, vision at 19.5%, and vision implementation at 18.9%.

Abstract

The research aims to analyze student needs for developing project-based learning digital modules to improve understanding of concepts in the Aviation English course. A total of 77 cadets who took the Aviation English course at the Politeknik Penerbangan Palembang were involved in the research conducted from May to June 2023. The research instrument used is a closed questionnaire sheet that has four answer choices. Analysis of cadets' needs to develop project-based digital modules was carried out using descriptive statistical analysis. This is done by processing percentage data from filling out cadet questionnaires. The percentage is obtained based on the calculation of the modified Likert Scale. The results showed that as many as 77 respondents or 100% of respondents strongly agreed to the development of project-based learning digital modules to improve understanding of concepts in the Aviation English course

Abstract

The flow access road in the airport make-up area still has obstacles from many Grounds Support Equipment (GSE) scattered during operational and non-operational hours that can be a hazard endangering ground handling officers and passengers. This study aims to overview the problems in the make-up area of Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang International Airport and provide a solution with a new layout of GSE to make a safe flow in the make-up area. This research used descriptive qualitative methods, data collection by observation, interview, and documentation with analytics design by Miles and Huberman. The solution to the problem in this study is designing a new eastern equipment parking area layout by optimizing the empty land of former containers and providing land for Baggage Carts (BCT) to make it tidier. The conclusion of this study is a layout design of the equipment storage area that can optimize the empty land of the former container into additional land to make equipment area storage more efficient and safe. The researcher also provides land for baggage carts. Hence, their placement is neater to avoid becoming an obstacle and suggests that third parties consider this research, which can also be applied at Jenderal Ahmad Yani Semarang International Airport.
