Abstract: Hypertension is a condition where a person experiences an increase in blood pressure above normal in the long term. The therapy of diaphragmatic breathing Relaxation Technique is very good for doing every day by people with high blood pressure, muscle relaxation that helps the body especially the muscles that maintain the elasticity of blood vessels arteries. This study aimed to determine the effect of a deep breath of relaxation techniques to decrease blood pressure in patients with moderate-severe hypertension. The method of this research uses a pre-experimental study with Non-Equivalent Control Group. Respondents were 30 people, consisting of 15 experimental groups, 15 control groups, selected by purposive sampling technique. At first, the blood pressure of the respondents was measured with a sphygmomanometer clock and adult stethoscope and recorded. Deep breathing relaxation techniques taught to the experimental group respondents for 15 minutes, and blood pressure were measured and recorded again. The control group was given no treatment, only the initial blood pressure measurement and 15 minutes after the initial blood pressure measurement. Analysis using the Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test (α =0,05). Average result of reduction in systolic blood pressure and diastolic relaxation with techniques of breathing in 165.77 mm Hg and the average diastolic blood pressure was 90.00 mmHg at day 1and at day 2was 149.33 mmHg and the mean-average decrease in diastolic blood pressure was 84.00 mmHg.
