Abstract

During the COVID-19 outbreak, the Indonesian government implemented several policies to handle and prevent the spread of the disease. One of the policies launched is to shift face-to-face services in universities towards implementing online academic services. The Mechanical Engineering Study Program implements the Telegram group feature as a social media for academic service processes. This research aims to understand how communication patterns have changed during the pandemic and post-pandemic period in telegram group media use analyzed from the uses and gratifications theory in the Mechanical Engineering Study Program at Jember University. This research uses a qualitative descriptive research methodology. Research data was collected by observing Telegram groups, interviews, and distributing questionnaires to students using Telegram groups. The results of this research state that there has been a change in communication patterns during the COVID-19 pandemic using the telegram group media from previously being conducted face-to-face. After the pandemic passed, even though there was adaptation to changes in communication patterns, students had other choices in using media. Not every student felt that the telegram group media was effective based on their communication needs.

Abstract

Community-Based Intervention (IBM) is one of the programs for the Prevention of Eradication of Narcotics Abuse and Illicit Trafficking with the concept of community empowerment (from the community, by the community, and for the community). These programs aim to intervene in light drug abusers by people who have been trained by the National Narcotics Agency and have competence. BNNP Central Kalimantan started implementing the Community-Based Intervention Program in 2021 where there are several obstacles in its implementation. This study aims to produce recommendations and strategies so that the Community-Based Intervention program at BNNP Central Kalimantan can run optimally. This research used qualitative research methods. The data was analyzed using the Interactive analysis model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldana. The research results indicate that the variables that require attention and serve as preconditions for the success of the implementation process have been met in the implementation of the IBM. As for the constraints still encountered, they will serve as recommendations for the sustainability of future programs

Abstract

Peranan lahan pekarangan secara tidak langsung mampu mempengaruhi ekonomi rumah tangga, namun dapat dimanfaatkan untuk meningkatkan kesejahteraan rumah tangga bila dilakukan secara optimal. permasalahan utama di Desa Tajur Halang khususnya bagi RT 01 RW 02 Desa Tajur Halang Kec. Tajur Halang Kabupaten Bogor dalam program pegabdian kepada masyarakat di Desa Tajur Halang dapat ditinjau dari tingkat ekonomi masyarakat setempat dan dari kesadaran masyarakat terhadap  pemanfaatan lahan pekarangan yang tersedia. Kegiatan pengabdian dosen Universitas Terbuka ini berfokus pada peningkatan kreativitas masyarakat dalam memanfaatkan bahan alam atau tanaman yang terdapat di lingkungan sekitar masyarakat secara tepat guna dan arif, peningkattan kreativitas masyarakat untuk dapat mengembangkan pembuatan lilin aromaterapi dari berbagai jenis tanaman aromatik lainnya yang pada akhirnya akan menumbuhkan kesadaran dan kreativitas masyarakat untuk memanfaatkan segala sumber daya potensial yang mereka miliki secara optimal. Metode yang digunakan dalam kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah metode ceramah, demonstrasi, praktek, monitoring serta evaluasi. Hasil kegiatan pengabdian semua warga belajar dapat memanfaatkan lahan pekarangan menjadi efektif dan dapat membuat lilin aromaterapi. The role of house yard can indirectly affect the household economy, also can be used to improve household welfare. The main problem in Tajur Halang Village, especially for RT 01 RW 02 Tajur Halang Village, Bogor Regency in the community service program in Tajur Halang Village can be viewed from the economic level of the local community and community awareness of the use of available yards. This Open University lecturer service activity focuses on increasing community creativity in utilizing natural materials or plants found in the environment around the community efficiently and wisely, increasing community creativity to be able to develop the manufacture of aromatherapy candles from various other types of aromatic plants which will eventually raise awareness and community creativity to optimally utilize all the potential resources they have. The methods used in this community service activity are lectures, demonstrations, practice, monitoring, and evaluation methods. The results of the community service activities for all learning residents can make effective use of the yard area and can make aromatherapy candles.

Abstract

People can take education from everywhere, such as formal education conducted in schools. Additionally, there is non-formal education, which can occur outside formal education, such as in courses, training institutions, study groups, and others. Continuous education involves activities that aim to enhance evolving knowledge in one's job or responsibilities, leadership training, and improving managerial skills to manage institutions, finances, facilities, and human resources. This community service activity took place in Cibodas Village, Rumpin District, Bogor Regency/City, with the aim of raising awareness among the community about the importance of continuous education to improve human resource quality. The low level of education (above 75% at the elementary education level) is a social problem in the village. This training include materials about continuous education, entrepreneurship, and digital promotional media as a form of continous education. The training was provided to 50 participants from the Family Welfare Empowerment (PKK) of Cibodas Village, resulting in the creation of village flagship products. Through this training, participants will become catalysts, spreading information to raise awareness in the community and improve continuous education to achieve greater well-being and quality of life.

Abstract

Digitization brings about fundamental changes in almost every aspect of life, including marketing communication strategies. PT. Redo Marketing Indonesia, a distributor of beauty clinic equipment, has shifted its marketing strategy from canvassing to digital marketing through the social media platform Instagram. This research aims to examine the effectiveness and the impact of this change on the marketing communication process in the company, and used descriptive qualitative data analysis methods. The data was collected through interviews to several marketing staf. The research results indicate that digital marketing through Instagram is more financially efficient and enables instant communication with a wider target audience, thus accelerating the spread of information. However, on the flip side, canvassing methods remain effective for very specific and local target markets. PT. Redo Marketing Indonesia's efforts to optimize Instagram have built a strong brand image and increased customers interaction. Keywords: Brand Image, Canvassing, Marketing Communication.

Abstract

The advancement of technology and mass media has had a significant impact on the formation of parasocial relationships between fans and their idols, particularly in the growing phenomenon of K-Pop. This study aims to analyze how the use of social media by RIIZE fans relates to the situation experienced by Seunghan. Using a netnographic approach, this research observes fan interactions on platform X from October 11 to November 1, 2024. The results show that RIIZE fans expressed support, protests, and emotional reactions toward SM Entertainment's decision regarding Seunghan's departure from the group. Fans demonstrated high loyalty through support movements and solidarity, while also criticizing the agency's decision, which was perceived as unjust. This study reveals that parasocial relationships can influence fan behavior in voicing opinions and shaping public narratives about their idols. Social media serves as a space for fans to advocate for their idols' rights and create a broader social impact within the fan community

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of smart campuses across various higher education institutions in Indonesia and to identify the challenges and strategies involved in supporting the three pillars of higher education (tridarma). Employing a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with six informants consisting of lecturers, students, and IT experts from both academic universities and vocational institutions. The findings indicate significant variation in the adoption of smart campus technologies, influenced by infrastructure readiness, digital literacy levels, and institutional priorities. Academic universities tend to adopt administrative and digital learning systems more rapidly, while vocational institutions focus on the practical application of technology for industrial training. The main challenges identified include limited access to internet infrastructure and digital devices, as well as low digital literacy, particularly among senior faculty and students. In response, many institutions have initiated digital literacy training and the development of integrated information systems. This study highlights the need for a standardized and adaptable smart campus framework tailored to each institution’s context. Furthermore, collaboration between universities and technology providers is considered essential for accelerating campus-wide digital transformation. The results of this research are expected to serve as a reference for policymakers and institutional leaders in formulating more effective, sustainable, and inclusive strategies for smart campus development in the era of digital transformation in higher education.

Abstract

Marketplace is a digital platform that is familiar to use when buying and selling online. Marketplaces are crucial in enhancing the quality, marketing, and competitiveness of MSME services and products. There are so many MSMEs in the form of online stores in the marketplace. The existence of a marketplace is beneficial for business owners who are just starting their business on a particular marketplace platform. However, the existence of these online stores is considered not optimal in reaching a very broad market due to the lack of experience and knowledge to make business innovations. Therefore, a training through MOOCs is needed for MSMEs that have online stores incorporated in a marketplace. using the ADDIE Model to acquire prevalent knowledge regarding business strategies in the marketplace, xMOOCs are developed. The developed MOOCs consist of seven materials, namely (1) Basic Concepts of Marketplace, (2) Marketplace Business Models, (3) Preparation for Starting an Online Business in the Marketplace, (4) Selling in the Marketplace, (5) Strategies for Increasing Traffic in the Marketplace, (6) Managing and Developing Stores, and (7) Success Stories of Online Sellers in the Marketplace. The development of MOOCs through research obtains complete information from the design, development, to evaluation stages. These MOOCs can be used massively and effectively in providing useful knowledge for participants to increase sales in the marketplace.

Abstract

The transformation towards a smart campus is no longer an option, but an urgent necessity for universities in Indonesia to survive and excel in the digital age. The implementation of technology in the three pillars of higher education is key to improving efficiency, educational quality, and global competitiveness. This study aims to examine the adoption, implementation, and integration of technology in the implementation of the three pillars in Indonesian universities using a qualitative approach. The results of the study show the formation of a digital learning ecosystem model consisting of the following main components: strong technological infrastructure (campus internet and Wi-Fi); hardware and software, such as LMS; competent human resources through continuous training; and active student involvement in digital learning. Other components that support this ecosystem include digital content, data-based evaluation, institutional policies such as green technology, system interoperability, and digital communication tools. The main challenges in implementation are uneven digital literacy, funding constraints, and resistance to change. However, through regular training strategies, policy strengthening, and inclusive change management, smart campuses in Indonesia have the potential to become a key strategy for creating adaptive, innovative, and globally competitive higher education.
