Abstract

Background: The toddler years are often referred to as the golden age, a critical period in a child's development that encompasses physical, psychomotor, mental, and social aspects. Good nutritional status is crucial for optimal child development, while excessive nutrition, such as overweight and obesity, can hinder growth and increase the risk oflong-term diseases such as hypertension, diabetes, and cardiovascular diseases. Purpose: To determine the effect of education using leaflets on improving knowledge about balanced nutrition among mothers of toddlers with nutritional problems. Method: The method used in this study was a quasi-experimental design with a pre-test post-test group design conducted in Dewisari Village, Rengasdengklok District, with a total of 30 respondents. Results: The statistical test results using the Wilcoxon test yielded a p-value of 0.002 (p<0.005), which means that there is an effect of providing education through leaflets on the balanced nutrition knowledge of mothers of toddlers with nutritional deficiencies. Conclusion: This study shows that education through leaflets is effective in improving mothers' nutritional knowledge, which in turn can contribute to improving the nutritional status of toddlers

Abstract

The health and development of school-aged children are greatly influenced by their breakfast habits, which provide essential energy and nutrients for daily activities. However, many children often skip breakfast, which can affect their nutritional status. This research is an observational study with a cross-sectional approach conducted at Adiarsa Barat Elementary School 1. The subjects were 66 sixth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Breakfast habits data were collected using a questionnaire, while nutritional status was measured based on height and weight. The correlation between breakfast habits and nutritional status was analysed using the Spearman Rho test with SPSS version 25.0. About 60.6% of respondents had breakfast 1-3 times a week, while 39.4% had breakfast 4-7 times a week. Most respondents (69.7%) had a normal nutritional status, with 3.0% experiencing malnutrition and 12.1% being obese. The analysis results showed a significant correlation between breakfast habits and nutritional status (p value = 0.000) with a correlation coefficient of -0.568. There is a significant correlation between breakfast habits and nutritional status in schoolchildren, although the negative direction of the correlation suggests that other influencing factors may be present.

Abstract

Background: During adolescence, rapid changes occur that affect the nutritional requirements of the foods they eat. Health problems often arise during this period, including nutritional problems that arise during adolescent growth and development. The pocket money teenagers receive can influence how often they choose fast food. The more pocket money they have, the more often they tend to eat fast food because that money is usually used to buy unhealthy foods that are high in fat. Objectives: This research aims to examine the relationship between the amount of pocket money they have and the nutritional status of students at SMPN 1 West Karawang. Research Metodes: This research is a quantitative observational study that uses a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was class 7J students at SMPN 1 West Karawang. The research sample was taken from the entire population tested using a total sampling technique, which means that all 7J class students at SMPN 1 West Karawang, totaling 37 students, were included in the research. Data analysis was carried out using the Spearman test. Results: In statistical analysis using the Spearman test at a 95% confidence level, a value was obtained (p-value 0.471) for pocket money per day and (p-value 0.186) for pocket money used to buy food and drinks per day. Therefore, with this p-value, the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is rejected and the null hypothesis (Ho) is accepted. Conclusion: There is no significant relationship between pocket money and the nutritional status of students at SMPN 11 West Karawang. These findings indicate that the pocket money factor has no effect on the nutritional status of adolescents.

Abstract

Abstract

The nutritional status of elementary school children is influenced by various factors, including breakfast habits and the amount of pocket money received each day. This study aims to determine the effect of pocket money and breakfast habits on the nutritional status of children at SDN 1 Mulyasari. This study employs a quantitative approach with a cross-sectional design. The sample consists of 48 students selected through total sampling. Data were collected via questionnaires and anthropometric measurements using the body mass index (BMI) according to age. Data analysis was conducted using univariate and bivariate methods (chi-square test with Fisher's exact test as an alternative). The results show that most respondents have high pocket money (91.7%) and often eat breakfast (72.9%). The majority of respondents (72.9%) have a normal BMI. There was no significant relationship between pocket money and BMI (p = 0.445), nor between breakfast frequency and BMI (p = 0.254). The conclusion of this study is that the amount of pocket money and breakfast habits do not have a strong influence on children's nutritional status. These findings are expected to serve as a consideration for schools and parents in fostering healthy eating habits in children.

Abstract

Portion standards and ingredient costs are two important interrelated components in determining the selling price of a dish. This study aims to analyze the relationship between animal protein portion standards and ingredient costs on the selling price of animal-based dishes at Catering K in the Karawang region. This is a quantitative study with a cross-sectional design conducted from May to June 2025. The study population includes all data on portion standards for animal-based side dishes (chicken, eggs, meat, fish, squid, shrimp), ingredient costs, and the selling price of animal-based dishes. Data collection techniques used total sampling with a total of 28 dishes. The results of the study show that portion standards are divided into three sizes, namely I (35–80 g), II (42–100 g), and III (49–120 g), with an average compliance rate of 99.1%. Ingredient costs and selling prices were also divided into three categories according to portion size. The Spearman test results showed a significant relationship between portion standards and the selling price of animal-based dishes, with a p-value of 0.020 (p<0.05). The larger the portion size standard set, the higher the selling price charged. The Spearman test results also showed a significant correlation between ingredient costs and selling prices, with a p-value of 0.000 (p<0.05). The higher the ingredient costs incurred, the higher the selling price set.
