Abstract

Abstrak   The purpose of this research was to describe the use of solfegio in drum band  extracurricular  activities  at  SMP  N  8  Padang.  The  activities  covered praticing  rhythm and melody through audio-visual. This was a qualitative research which applied descriptive analysis method. The object of the research was the use of solfegio in drum band extracurricular activities  at  SMP N 8  Padang.  The date were  collected  through  observation, documentation, and library study. The result of the research revealed that, after the students were trained to listen to the rhythm and melody (audio) and read the rhythm and melody (visual): (1) the  students’  knowledge and concept about music increased, (2) the students’ ability to read rhythm notation and melody increased, (3) the students’ skill to use rhythm notation and melody on musical instrument they could play increased, (4) the student’ skill to play music together in presenting the song got better, and (5) the students’ were more excited and self-confident to take part in drum band extracurricular activities.   Keyword: Use, Solfegio, Drum band

Abstract

This article aims to determine whether by giving high touch aspects in the learning process can improve student learning outcomes. The type of this research is Classroom Action Research (PTK), which aims to improve the learning process to improve student learning outcomes in class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang. The object of research in this research is the students of class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Sources of data in this study is the process and the results of the action is done that is giving high touch aspects on the learning process on the students of class VIII 9 in SMP Negeri 13 Padang. Data collection techniques used were interviews, observation, literature study and documentation. The results showed that the giving of aspects in the process of learning art and culture (music) in class VIII 9 SMP Negeri 13 Padang gave positive results to the students. Student learning outcomes increase as well as students appreciate teachers in the learning process. Abstract

The purpose of this research is to find out how the implementation of online learning of art and culture in grade VII.3 SMP Negeri 26 Padang. This type of research is using descriptive data that produces qualitative data. The instrument of this research is the researchers themselves. The data was obtained by collecting data conducted by means of literature studies, observations, and interviews as well as documentation containing photographs during the learning process conducted online. Based on the results of the study, that the implementation of online learning of cultural arts with the results of students' learning in grade VII.3 on musical ensemble material is less than maximum. Because in the process of practical learning that should not be achieved in online learning, due to the lack of media owned by learners so that evaluation can only be done with theory only.

Abstract

Abstract The study aims was to describe the application of cooperative learning method in the subjects of art and culture on class VIII.3 in SMP Negeri 26 Padang. The main data sources in this study were students who had given cooperative learning method. Technique of data collection was done by using techniques such as observation, interview, results of the study and library research. This study used a qualitative approach. In applicating the cooperative learning method, there were some steps as follows: in the first meeting, teacher explained traditionalal music material, as well as the divided of the group. The second meeting, teachers shared a sub material which would be discussed by each group. In the third meeting, each group presented the results of their discussion. The last one was teachers provided daily trials to evaluate learning process. The results of this study showed that the process and learning outcomes of the art and culture materials with traditional music styles which were implemented on class VIII.3 by using cooperative learning method was very helpful in improving results of study and cooperation among group members. A structured learning plan could motivate the learners so that the learners ddi not get bored with learning that teachers provide. Giving the learning facilities to the learners and groups, giving a reward and assessment to individuals and groups could stimulate the learners in order to faster understanding and it was able to give motivation to the learners in achieving purpose of learning. Key Words: Application, Cooperative Learning Method, Art and Culture

Abstract

This study aims to describe Vocal Learning in SMP 1 Payakumbuh. This research used qualitative approach, and it belongs to descriptive research. The data were collected through observation, interview, and documentation. The data analysis was conducted through data collection, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing .Data validity test was done by extending observations and increasing persistence. The results of this study indicate that: (1) lesson planning includes: a. The material being taught is provided in stages, b. The methods used are the lecture method, demonstration method, question and answer method, and assignment method, (2) the implementation of vocal learning includes: initial activities, core activities, and final activities, (3) learning evaluation includes process evaluation seen from students’ discipline, activeness, and seriousness. In addition, evaluation of results seen from the activities when students demonstrate. It uses indicators of techniques, material, and appearance.

Abstract

This study discusses the Implementation of Online Learning in SMP Negeri 7 Padang. This research is a qualitative research and it uses the descriptive analytic approach which tends to use theoretical basis analysis used to guide the focus to be in accordance with the facts in the field. The research data were collected through interviews done to informants. Based on the results of the research implemented in two meetings, the author concludes that the implementation of online learning of Cultural Arts in music ensemble material to class VII.1 SMP Negeri 7 Padang is the use of WhatsApp Group media recommended by the assistant principle of Curriculum of SMP Negeri 7 Padang to deal with online learning so that learning activities still can be constructed even in a remote condition. The planning of online learning of music ensemble material is not optimal because the teachers do not create lesson plans specifically for the online learning process. The implementation of online learning in Cultural Arts in class VII is in accordance with the lesson plans implemented during face-to-face learning in the classroom. The online learning of Cultural Arts of the ensemble music material continues to run smoothly despite the simple learning. The learning outcomes of Cultural Arts of music ensemble of class VII are less than optimal because the learning activities are constructed without paying attention to the standards related to the preparation of online learning materials.

Abstract

Abstract Implementation of the work Senting Meter to serve as expression of the composer’s musical experience, music composition has inspired and encourage a composer to learn music. In the implementation of the work, the composer present a collabortive instrument rebana with modern instrument with new packaging, so the composer can show that the game is the rebana can be merged with other instruments and not just use a rebana it just as well as eliminate the thought of teens today that says the game is boring rebana. Here composer present a development techniques Senting (a stong blow) is also one of the techniques of the game rebana. the development of rhythm, sound and colour on the paper Senting Meter is rendered into other instruments, both in terms of musical studies as well as the selection of the instrument. So the works presented more attractive and can be accepted at this time. Keywords: Senting, Meter

Abstract

Abstract The cultivation of this Serumpun's musical works is aimed to express musician musical experience in which compositional musics has inspired and gave the spirit of musician to learn music. On working on this musical work, musician presents Minang and Malay music collaborations with new packaging form, so that the producer can give the description that there are many similarities and congregation of both cultures.  This musical works presents the development of melody, rhythm, and timbre into other instruments in terms of produced music and the selection of its instruments, so that the work presented becomes more attractive and acceptable at this time. Keywords: Serumpun.

Abstract

AbstractThis article was aimed to find out 1)how to use demonstration methodin local music learning especially talempong in class X IPA SMAN 1 Bukittinggi, 2)  how students' ability in playing talempong with the right tempo and tone. Type of the research was qualitative. The source of data were divided into two, they were primary and secondary. Technique of data collection was done by using some methods by taking observation, interview and documentation. Technique of data analysis was carried out based on Miles and Huberman’s theory namely data reduction, presentation and verification. Result of the research showed that the use of demonstration method used by teachers was appropiate as it should be, i.e. teachers gave example and guided the students well, it meant that the method has already worked. For the Students' ability in playing talempong, there were 19 students got 90 (52.8%), and 17 of students got 60 (47.2%). So it could be said that only 19 of students were able to play talempong withgood and right. Keywords: Usage, Demonstration Method, Local Music Learning (Minangkabau)

Abstract

This article aimed to explain the results of learning the art of music by using a course book made by teacher on Cultural Arts (Music) subject at MTs Padang Laweh, Sijunjung Regency. The main instrument in this study was the researcher himself and assisted with supporting instruments such as stationeries and cameras. The technique of data collecting was done by survey, literature study, observation and interviews. Then, the data were analyzed by looking at the results of observation and the results of interviews that had been conducted during the study. The results of the study indicated that interpersonal communication  applied all learning methods, through the course book of cultural arts learning made by art and culture teacher at MTs Padang Laweh in Sijunjung District succeeded in the learning process through the course book. The learning  process was  designed in such a way as to apply the concept of simple and fun learning process to produce young generation that are intelligent, active and characterized. The implementation of the course book objectives consisted of interpersonal communication which referred to the continuity of education in which all activities involved teacher and students. Interpersonal communication was proven to be effective in helping teacher and students in the learning process because they could understand and each other’s characters. Thus, the educational process could take place well and effectively. The achievements of the MTs Padang Laweh in Sijunjung Regency indicate the success of teaching materials of the course book applied at the school.
