Abstract

The need for electrical energy today is starting to increase along with the increase in population and rapid development, but inversely proportional to the progress or innovations in increasing renewable energy. Given that this renewable energy can be developed continuously and operational costs are relatively cheap, the electricity that relies on coal (fossil) over time will run out and cannot be renewed, the discussion concerns the supply of PLN supplies. So that in this study the focus is on the utilization of electrical energy for the NUWSP development area of Gorontalo Regency Biyonga Village and calculating the total consumption needs of the electrical energy used. After research and data analysis, the results obtained are 189 kVA or 189,000 vA, the total peak demand with load is 3 units of centrifugal pumps, 10 points of room lighting, and 12 points of lighting around the building, the results of the analysis obtained became a reference and suggested to install electrical energy with a capacity of 197 kVA or 197,000 vA with the consideration that when development occurs, the demand for electrical energy is still sufficient from what is installed.

Abstract

This research aims to evaluate the influence of using air as a coolant on photovoltaic module's power output and electrical efficiency. Fossil energy, as the primary energy source today, has limited supply and presents challenges in meeting future energy demands. In an effort to address this issue, we conducted tests by implementing an air cooling system using a blower at the bottom of the photovoltaic module. The tests were conducted with varying air flow rates, and the results indicate that the use of air cooling can enhance the power output and efficiency of the photovoltaic module. The average power output increased by 31.66 Watts with an efficiency of 3.52%. However, when the air flow rate increased by 1.5 m/s, there was an average power decrease of 28.9 Watts and an efficiency decrease of 3.22%. These findings demonstrate that air velocity affects the temperature, power output, and efficiency of the photovoltaic module.

Abstract

The Anggrek Unit Steam Power Plant (PLTU) is a power generation facility whose construction began in 2007 and began operating in 2019 with a capacity of 2 x 25 MW. Since its inauguration, PLTU Anggrek has become one of the main sources of electricity distribution in Gorontalo Province, so the frequency of power outages in the area has now decreased significantly. The water supply system for fire fighting uses BSP pipes. In this research, the aim is to determine the active fire protection system. This research was carried out with a qualitative descriptive design with data collection: observation and interviews. The assessment of the results of existing suitability will be assessed using descriptive percentage calculations. The research results show that of the 7 variables discussed, the average value for the level of fulfillment is 98.57%. Based on the level of fire audit assessment that meets the requirements of Indonesian national standards and international standards, the results are in the Good criteria or have met the requirements.

Abstract

Kebudayaan dianut oleh masyarakat beranekaragam tersebar di seluruh wilayah nusantara salah satunya terdapat di Kecamatan Atinggola Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara Provinsi Gorontalo. Desa Buata yang terdiri dari kawasan wisata Desa Buata adalah salah satu desa di Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara yang rutin melaksanakan kegiatan Mandi Shafar setiap tahunnya. Tradisi Mandi Shafar ini merupakan tradisi warisan yang nenek moyang penduduk asli Desa Buata bagian dari suku Gorontalo. Mandi Shafar ini dilaksanakan di dua tempat yaitu untuk ritual tradisional di pusat kan di hulu sungai Andagile (Desa Buata) sementara untuk ritual mandi Shafar Nasional di tempatkan di muara Sungai Andagile. Tradisi Mandi Safar mempunyai pro dan kontra dilihat dari segi agama Islam persepsi masyarakat terhadap Mandi Safar dan pelaksanaannya ada beberapa masyarakat menganggap bahwa mandi safar tersebut merupakan takhayul atau syirik. Tujuan dari pada pengabdian ini yaitu, 1) Untuk mengetahui bagaimana prosesi budaya mandi Safar, 2) Untuk mengetahui manfaat dari mandi Safar. Metode yang digunakan yaitu kualitatif Deskriptif yaitu melakukan observasi kemudian wawancara secara mendalam. Populasi yang di ambil pada pengabdian ini yaitu masyarakat desa Buata, sampel yaitu berjumlah 25 responden.

Abstract

Pemanfaatan limbah pelepah pisang menjadi cemilan yang dikenal sebagai "Upaso Sagi" merupakan inovasi dalam bidang pemberdayaan masyarakat di Desa Buata, Kecamatan Atinggola, Kabupaten Gorontalo Utara. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan solusi terhadap permasalahan limbah organik, sekaligus meningkatkan kesejahteraan masyarakat melalui pelatihan pembuatan keripik dari pelepah pisang. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh warga setempat, dengan fokus pada teknik pengolahan pelepah pisang menjadi produk bernilai tambah yang layak konsumsi. Hasil dari kegiatan ini menunjukkan adanya peningkatan keterampilan dan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam mengolah limbah menjadi produk yang dapat dipasarkan, sehingga memberikan dampak positif bagi ekonomi lokal. Di samping itu, program ini juga berkontribusi pada pengurangan limbah organik di wilayah tersebut. Dengan demikian, inisiatif ini diharapkan dapat menjadi model bagi upaya pemberdayaan masyarakat berbasis lingkungan dan ekonomi di daerah lain.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy has become one of the basic needs for human life, the limitations and capabilities of the state electricity company in providing electricity to the Indonesian people have not been met. Like a village that has not been reached by PLN electricity. The purpose of this study is to determine the output power of a micro hydro power plant using a flat blade, the load variation used is 1 kg to 15 kg, and to determine the characteristics of the waterwheel, then describe the power and efficiency curve using a flat blade on the type Undershot stream. The method used in this research is to measure power efficiency by varying the flow rate of 0.0166 m3/s and 0.0155 m3/s. The flow rate measurement is carried out by filling a bucket with a bucket volume of 20 L. The results obtained in this study are the largest discharge is found at 0.0166 m3/s discharge to get a power of 12.127 Watt, resulting in a waterwheel efficiency of 18.569% at 56 axis rotation 23 rpm. Abstract

Self-supporting housing construction carried out by the community in general still does not meet liveable quality, tends to sprawl (irregularly) and is well-organized based on a lack of infrastructure and facilities that meet the requirements of a healthy environment. Things like this tend to make settlements wider and form separate slum neighbourhoods. In order to improve the quality of people's housing, it is important to make efforts to make people aware that building healthy housing is the responsibility of the people themselves. Therefore, empowerment is an effort that must be carried out by strengthening the power possessed by each community. In addition, positive steps and directions are needed to create a conducive environment and atmosphere for every actor involved in housing development, especially for residents. Strengthening the provision of facilities and support in opening access and opportunities that can make the community more empowered. For this reason, the Government is carrying out the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) Assistance Activities.

Abstract

This paper presents the results of a study on increasing the efficiency of solar panels with a comparative analysis of cooling systems utilizing air flow, air and without cooling. The method with cooling flow is used to absorb heat generated by the PV module. This study was designed simply and effectively, tested in outdoor conditions. The rear surface of the PV panel was flowed with a fluid that was in direct contact. The results showed that solar panels with air cooling systems were relatively more effective compared to other cooling systems, namely being able to increase output power by 36.50 watts and efficiency by 12.7%, compared to air cooling systems with output power of 34.56 watts and efficiency of 11.12%, while for solar panels without cooling the output power was 31.01 watts and efficiency of 10.56%.

Abstract

Abstrak: Analisis Pengaruh Variasi Sudut Kemiringan Terhadap Optimasi Daya Panel Surya. Di Gorontalo suhu atau temperature udara yang tinggi yang dapat mempengaruhi kinerja pada panel surya. Suhu udara di Gorontalo pada siang hari dapat menembus angka diatas 34°C dibandingkan suhu optimal operasi dari panel surya sendiri adalah 25°C. Rumusan masalah dalam penelitian ini adalah apakah ada pengaruh perubahan sudut sel surya terhadap intensitas cahaya. Sedangkan Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah upaya mengoptimalkan output tegangan, arus dan daya pada sel surya agar lebih maksimal. Salah satu metode pengoptimalan sel surya adalah dengan memvariasikan sudut kemiringan panel surya 9˚, 12˚ dan 15˚. Metode pada penelitian ini dengan melakukan pengukuran besaran intensitas cahaya matahari, arus dan tegangan dengan menggunakan panel surya 50 WP, pengukuran tersebut dilakukan selama 9 hari. Hasil analisis pada penelitian ini adalah persentase peningkatan daya sebesar 43.85 Watt pada sudut kemiringan 15˚, sedangkan daya output mengalami penurunan pada sudut kemiringan 12˚ dan 9 ˚ yaitu 41.70 Watt dan 39.43 Watt. Secara keseluruhan perubahan arah sudut sel surya berpengaruh terhadap intensitas cahaya matahari yang berakibat pada kuat lemahnya tegangan yang diterima panel sel surya. Semakin besar intensitas cahaya yang diterima, maka semakin besar pula tegangan yang dihasilkan panel surya. Kata kunci: sel surya; intensitas cahaya; sudut azimuth; daya Abstrack: Analysis of the Effect of Tilt Angle Variations on Solar Panel Power Optimization. In Gorontalo the temperature or air temperature is high which can affect the performance of the solar panels. The air temperature in Gorontalo during the day can reach above 34°C compared to the optimal operating temperature of the solar panels themselves which is 25°C. The formulation of the problem in this study is whether there is an effect of changing the angle of the solar cell on the light intensity. While the purpose of this research is an effort to optimize the output voltage, current and power in solar cells to be more leverage. One method of optimizing solar cells is by varying the angle of inclination of the solar panels to 9˚, 12˚ and 15˚. The method in this study is to measure the intensity of sunlight, current and voltage using a 50 WP solar panel, the measurements were carried out for 9 days. The results of the analysis in this study are the percentage increase in power of 43.85 Watt at an angle of 15˚, while the output power decreases at an angle of 12˚ and 9˚, namely 41.70 Watt and 39.43 Watt. Overall changes in the direction of the solar cell angle affect the intensity of sunlight which results in the strength and weakness of the voltage received by the solar cell panel. Abstract

This study describes the calculation of cold storage analysis for planning the preservation of vannamei shrimp in Pohuwato Regency. The purpose of this paper is to calculate the cooling load on frozen fish cold storage, calculate the performance of the vapor compression cycle including mass flow rate, compressor power, and COP. This study uses a theoretical design method. Cold storage design for product storage. The design data was obtained from field observations. The calculation results showed that the Refrigerant used was Refrigerant 12 (R-12), a vannamei shrimp product. The cycle cooling load is 47.33 kW. Cold storage designed for the process of preserving shrimp with a capacity of 13 tons, Cooling temperature in cold storage is 10° C, Superheated temperature is 5° C, Sub cooled temperature is 5° C, Refrigerant temperature in the condenser is 35° C, Refrigerant temperature in the evaporator is 5° C, the pressure in the condenser is 0.8 MPa, the pressure in the evaporator is 0.4 MPa so that a coefficient of performance (COP) of 4.7 is obtained.
