Abstract

Secara geografis Indonesia berada dalam garis khatulistiwa atau tropis, namun secara thermis (suhu) tidak semua wilayah Indonesia merupakan daerah tropis. Daerah tropis menurut pengukuran suhu adalah daerah tropis dengan suhu rata-rata 20°C, sedangkan rata-rata suhu di wilayah Indonesia umumnya dapat mencapai 35°C dengan tingkat kelembaban yang tinggi, dapat mencapai 85% (iklim tropis panas lembab). Keadaan ini terjadi antara lain akibat posisi Indonesia yang berada pada pertemuan dua iklim ekstrim (akibat posisi antara 2 benua dan 2 samudra), perbandingan luas daratan dan lautannya, dan lain-lain. Kondisi ini kurang menguntungkan bagi manusia dalam melakukan aktifitasnya sebab produktifitas kerja manusia cenderung menurun atau rendah pada kondisi udara yang tidak nyaman seperti halnya terlalu dingin atau  terlalu panas. Suhu nyaman thermal untuk orang Indonesia berada pada rentang suhu 22,8°C - 25,8°C dengan kelembaban 70%. Langkah yang paling mudah untuk mengakomodasi kenyamanan tersebut adalah dengan melakukan pengkondisian secara mekanis (penggunaan AC) di dalam bangunan yang berdampak pada bertambahnya penggunaan energi (listrik). Cara yang paling murah memperoleh kenyamanan thermal adalah secara alamiah melalui pendekatan arsitektur, yaitu merancang bangunan dengan mempertimbangkan orientasi terhadap matahari dan arah angin, pemanfaatan elemen arsitektur dan material bangunan, serta pemanfaatan elemen-elemen landscape.

Abstract

Limboto Lake in Gorontalo Province has experienced a decline in ecosystem quality due to the massive growth of water hyacinth (Eichhornia crassipes). The presence of water hyacinth reduces lake productivity and disrupts fishing activities. Common control efforts has been mechanical removal of water hyacinth with high cost due to fuel consumption. This study aims to assess the feasibility of utilizing a floating Solar Power Plant (PLTS) as an alternative energy source to power the water hyacinth lifting machine. The methods used in the study include a literature review, field surveys, calculations of engine energy requirements, design of a floating PLTS system, and technical feasibility analysis. The water hyacinth lifting machine requires 12–18 kWh of energy per day, which a floating PLTS system can meet with a capacity of 5 kWp. The findings demonstrate that the proposed floating solar power system is technically feasible for implementation. In addition to supporting the sustainable operation of water hyacinth-lifting machines, this technology also reduces evaporation from lakes and increases the use of renewable energy in Gorontalo.

Abstract

The increasing demand for energy and the depletion of fossil fuel reserves have accelerated the development of renewable energy sources, with biomass emerging as one of the most promising candidates. Corncobs, an abundant agricultural residue with considerable energy content, represent a viable feedstock for gasification processes. This study evaluates the performance of a corncob-fueled updraft gasifier integrated with a photovoltaic (PV) solar power system as an auxiliary energy source for reactor operation. Experimental tests were conducted to assess flame characteristics, syngas composition, thermal efficiency, and overall energy potential. The influence of air flow rate (AFR) on temperature profiles across the drying, pyrolysis, oxidation, and reduction zones was systematically analyzed. The findings show that low AFR enhances heat accumulation but restricts oxygen supply, whereas excessively high AFR produces cooling effects that reduce thermal efficiency. Optimal operating conditions were achieved at intermediate AFR values (11.5–13.4 m/s), yielding stable heat distribution and high-quality syngas dominated by CO, H₂, and CH₄. Under these conditions, the system demonstrated promising thermal efficiency for small-scale applications. The 600 WP. PV system effectively supplied power to operate the blower, pump, and instrumentation, supporting operational autonomy and reducing reliance on external electricity sources. Overall, the integration of corncob gasification and solar energy offers a sustainable, environmentally friendly, and technically feasible hybrid energy solution, while promoting the utilization of agricultural waste and reducing dependence on fossil fuels in rural areas.

Abstract

Improving the capacity of village officials in development planning is very important to support the effectiveness of budget management and program implementation at the village level. This community service activity aims to improve the competence of village officials through the socialization of the application of appropriate technology and training in the Budget Plan (RAB) and Detail Engineering Design (DED). The monitoring results show that the level of participation of village officials in this activity is quite high, with a value of 90% of participants attending all training sessions, the initial evaluation through a pre-test showed that participants' understanding of the preparation of RAB and DED was still limited. However, after participating in the training, there was an increase in understanding of 75% based on the results of the Post-test. In addition, 80% of participants understand the basic stages of making simple RAB and DD as the final task of the training.

Abstract

The need for electrical energy has become one of the basic needs for human life, the limitations and capabilities of the state electricity company in providing electricity to the Indonesian people have not been met. Like a village that has not been reached by PLN electricity. The purpose of this study is to determine the output power of a micro hydro power plant using a flat blade, the load variation used is 1 kg to 15 kg, and to determine the characteristics of the waterwheel, then describe the power and efficiency curve using a flat blade on the type Undershot stream. The method used in this research is to measure power efficiency by varying the flow rate of 0.0166 m3/s and 0.0155 m3/s. The flow rate measurement is carried out by filling a bucket with a bucket volume of 20 L. The results obtained in this study are the largest discharge is found at 0.0166 m3/s discharge to get a power of 12.127 Watt, resulting in a waterwheel efficiency of 18.569% at 56 axis rotation 23 rpm. Abstract

Siswa kelas XII di SMK Negeri 1 Gorontalo Utara memiliki keterbatasan akses informasi tentang pendidikan tinggi di bidang teknik karena jarak geografis sekolah yang jauh dari kampus. Keterbatasan ini menghambat pemahaman mereka mengenai gambaran dunia perkuliahan, kurikulum kampus, praktikum dan prospek karier bi bidang teknik, minimnya paparan realistis mengenai dinamika perkuliahan teknik yang berpotensi menyebabkan ketidaksesuaian antara pilihan studi siswa dengan prestasi akademik mereka. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan minat siswa di SMK 1 Gorontalo Utara untuk melanjutkan studi di Fakultas Teknik Universitas Gorontalo dengan pilihan program studi Arsitektur, Teknik Mesin, Teknik Pertambangan, Teknik Sipil dan Teknologi Informasi. Metode sosialisasi partisipatif diterapkan dengan melibatkan 80 siswa dan 5 orang guru. Kegiatan ini dikemas dalam tiga sesi yaitu pemaparan umum menggunakan slide dan video profil, pengenalan mendalam masing-masing program studi yang disampaikan oleh siswa serta diskusi interaktif yang disertai kuis motivasional. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan tingginya antusiasme peserta selama sesi tanya jawab serta peningkatan pemahaman konkret mengenai bidang teknik. Lebih lanjut terjalin komitmen kemitraan antara pihak sekolah dan kampus untuk tindak lanjut program. Kegiatan ini terbukti berhasil menjembatani informasi dan menumbuhkan minat siswa terhadap studi teknik.
