Abstract

Continuing nursing education is a crucial element in maintaining nurses' professional competence amidst the dynamic development of health sciences and demands for quality services. One form of implementation of continuing professional development is participation in scientific activities such as seminars, workshops, and training, which play a role in updating knowledge and improving clinical practice skills. However, nurses' involvement in scientific activities is determined not only by individual motivation but also by the support of the educational management system within healthcare organizations. This study aims to analyze how nurses' participation in scientific activities contributes to the sustainability of nursing education from an educational management perspective in Minahasa Regency. The results indicate that participation in scientific activities is an important indicator in strengthening the ecosystem of continuous professional learning, especially when supported by organizational policies, educational leadership, and access to competency development programs. This finding aligns with global studies that confirm that continuing professional development has a significant relationship with improved clinical competence, service quality, and patient safety. Furthermore, institutional support and a learning organizational culture have been shown to play a role in increasing nurses' engagement in professional development activities. Thus, participation in scientific activities should be viewed as an integral part of a continuing nursing education management strategy that is oriented not only toward improving individual competence but also toward strengthening the professional education system within the context of regional healthcare services.

Abstract

ABSTRACT This study is motivated by the suboptimal variation in students’ learning motivation, which is presumed to be closely related to the teacher’s role in the learning process. Learning motivation is a crucial factor influencing students’ engagement and academic achievement. This study aims to analyze the relationship and contribution of the teacher’s role to students’ learning motivation at SMA Negeri 1 Motoling Timur. The method employed was a quantitative approach with a descriptive correlational design. The sample consisted of 51 students selected through random sampling. The instrument used was a closed-ended questionnaire that had been validated and proven reliable (α = 0.819 and α = 0.799). Data were analyzed using Pearson correlation and simple linear regression with the assistance of SPSS. The results revealed a positive and significant relationship between the teacher’s role and learning motivation (r = 0.775; p < 0.05), categorized as strong. The teacher’s role contributed 60.1% to students’ learning motivation (R² = 0.601), while the remaining variance was influenced by other factors. These findings highlight the importance of optimizing the teacher’s role as a key factor in enhancing students’ learning motivation in a measurable and sustainable manner.

Abstract

The competitiveness among Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) remains an important issue for stakeholders among various sectors. Unfortunately, businesses in the tourism sector have received less attention, particularly in terms of the social capital and innovation. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the relationship between social capital and innovation and their impact on the competitiveness of micro, small, and medium enterprises in Indonesia’s super-priority tourism areas. Using a sample of 40 enterprises, the study reveals that dimensions of social capital, namely trust, networks, and norms, along with innovation, contribute significantly to fostering competitiveness. Furthermore, networks play a crucial role in driving innovation within micro, small, and medium enterprises in the tourism sector. This research provides valuable insights for policymakers in fostering a more sustainable business climate, particularly by emphasizing the importance of social capital and innovation in enhancing MSME competitiveness.

Data were collected from 78 coastal small medium enterprise through a structured survey and analyzed using partial least squares structural equation modeling. The results reveal that social capital has a significant positive impact on both green innovation and sustainable competitive advantage. Furthermore, green innovation became a crucial factor in strengthening sustainable competitive advantage, indicating the adoption of eco innovative practices can improve firms’ environmental and market performance. The findings underscore the strategic importance of integrating social and environmental dimensions to achieve long term competitiveness in resource constrained regions. Theoretically, the study extends sustainability literature by conceptualizing social capital as a dynamic capability that drives innovation based advantage.
