Abstract

Spiritual revolution is a phenomenon that has long been discussed in various contexts of human life. One of the figures known as a thinker and writer who raised the theme of spiritual revolution is Yusuf Qordawi. In his works, Qordawi discusses the importance of spiritual transformation in the lives of individuals and society. In the history of Islam there is a very valuable treasure of spiritualism, namely Sufism, it developed following the dialectics of the times since Muhammad SAW was sent until now in the classical Islamic era, Sufism is an individual interest. In the Middle Ages, it turned into a tarekat. Spiritualism in the first generation of Islam served to push history forward and at the same time make life more balanced for underdeveloped communities.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the relevance of Umayyad Islamic educational thought in forming a holistic independent curriculum. The data collection technique in this research is through identifying discourse from books, papers or articles, magazines, journals, websites, blogs, or other information related to the title of the writing. The research method carried out here uses library research with discourse analysis. The research results show the relevance of Umayyad Islamic educational thought with the independent curriculum, including emphasizing Islamic religion-based teaching, emphasizing freedom of learning and critical thinking skills, emphasizing teaching moral values, developing creativity and innovation, and disseminating aspects of knowledge holistically. The conclusion of this research is that education today adapts to the more complex demands of the modern era. Educational thought in previous historical periods certainly had a big role in making a contribution to the world of education. Therefore, the current reforms must relate to the spiritual side so that a young generation is created that has skills, creativity, critical thinking and is religious.

Abstract

The transformation of Islamic education from the marginal phase in Mecca to the civilized phase in Medina brought significant changes. In Mecca, education was carried out in secret due to pressure. In Medina, organized educational centers such as the Nabawi Mosque and Kuttab were formed. The curriculum becomes more systematic with varied teaching methods. The number of teachers and students increased. Education includes religious and general knowledge, as well as character formation. This transformation has an impact on the spread of Islam more effectively, the formation of a strong Muslim society, the development of science, and tolerance between people. This experience provides valuable lessons for contemporary Islamic education.

Abstract

Education has a crucial role in human life, providing the ability to understand the universe and maintain existence. In the Islamic context, the importance of education has been recognized since early times, from the time of the Prophet to the time of Khulafaur Rasyidin, the Umayyads, the Abbasids, and up to the present. This research uses the library research method, namely research carried out systematically to collect, manage and conclude data using methods or techniques to find answers to the research discussed. In this research, the information produced comes from drawing conclusions sourced from citing references and abstracted as research findings. The research results show that the Abbasid dynasty has made a very high contribution to Islamic civilization in Islamic history, which is marked by the development of Islamic educational and scientific institutions. This development could not be separated from the socio-political conditions that occurred at that time. The emergence of various Islamic educational institutions during the Abbasid dynasty meant that they had participated in encouraging the progress of the Abbasid dynasty in the field of education. This was an effort that really paid off with satisfaction from what the Muslims did at that time. So, the aim of this research is to find out about Islamic education and the socio-political conditions of the Abbasid era.
