Abstract

Patih Selera Village Barito Kuala Regency faces serious problems in ineffective waste management, causing piles of garbage in various places, especially around the river. This service program aims to create innovative solutions in overcoming the waste problem in Patih Selera Village. The method of implementing the service was carried out by involving the Government and the community of Patih Selera Village. The main focus of the program is the creation of a Waste Disposal Site (TPS) which functions as a place for burning and sorting waste. This TPS is also designed to minimize negative environmental impacts by utilizing the ash from burning for plant fertilizer. In addition, the program also includes education to the community on proper waste segregation and management. The result of this community service program is an increase in community awareness and responsibility for the environment as well as a reduction in piles of garbage in various places. The educational program also succeeded in teaching the community about the importance of sorting waste and utilizing recyclable waste. In addition, this program creates a positive collaboration between students, village government, and the community in maintaining environmental cleanliness. This service activity reflects an effort to turn waste problems into innovative solutions by involving active community participation and understanding the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness. This program helps to improve the environmental quality of Patih Selera Village and increase community understanding of local potential and better waste management.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the organizational structure, main tasks and functions, and challenges faced by the Legal Section in carrying out its role as a center for local government legal services. The research method used a qualitative approach through interviews with the Head of the Legal Section, direct observation in the work environment, and literature studies of various related documents and regulations. The results of the study indicate that the organizational structure of the Legal Section consists of functional positions, implementing officers, and temporary employees, each of which has a crucial role in supporting the legal product drafting process. However, the effectiveness of organizational performance still faces obstacles, particularly related to employee discipline, work ethic, and efforts to build a culture of bureaucratic integrity. The Head of the Legal Section emphasized that the quality of human resources is a key factor in determining the success of the process of harmonization of regulations and legal services. Thus, a sustainable apparatus development strategy and strengthening of the work system are needed so that the Legal Section can carry out its functions optimally in supporting the implementation of the Palangka Raya City government.

Abstract

Background: The construction industry in Indonesia, particularly in the city of Yogyakarta, is experiencing rapid development along with the increasing demand for educational infrastructure. In projects that involve challenging topographical conditions, the selection of an appropriate earth retaining structure method becomes a critical technical and managerial decision. This study aims to compare the cost and time efficiency between two widely used methods in retaining wall construction, namely the conventional masonry retaining wall method and the shotcrete method, in the Universitas AMIKOM Yogyakarta development project. Methods: The analysis focuses on direct and indirect costs, project duration, productivity, and critical path determination using the Critical Path Method (CPM). Data were obtained from project planning documents, detailed engineering drawings, Bill of Quantities (BoQ), and scheduling data developed using Microsoft Project. Findings: The results of the analysis indicate that the shotcrete method provides significant advantages in terms of time efficiency, with a project duration of approximately 358 working days, which is 42 days faster than the retaining wall method requiring around 400 working days. However, from the cost perspective, the shotcrete method results in higher total expenses, amounting to Rp15.526 billion compared to Rp15.187 billion for the retaining wall method, or approximately 2.24 percent more expensive. Additional analysis of indirect costs shows that the longer duration of the retaining wall method increases monthly overhead expenses, while the shotcrete method requires higher technical and equipment costs. Conclusion: Therefore, the retaining wall method is considered more economical, whereas the shotcrete method is superior when project acceleration is prioritized. The findings of this study provide practical guidance for project managers and decision makers in selecting the most appropriate method based on project objectives, budget limitations, and time constraints. Novelty/Originality of this article: This study uniquely combines cost, time, productivity, and CPM analysis to provide an integrated evaluation of masonry and shotcrete retaining wall methods, offering practical decision-making guidance for complex construction projects.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze and compare the regulation of marital agreements as instruments of legal protection within the family law systems of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore. The study departs from the transformation of the classical Islamic law concept of taklik talak into modern positive legal constructions that accommodate the need to protect the rights and obligations of spouses. This research employs a normative legal method using statutory, conceptual, and comparative approaches. The legal materials consist of statutory regulations, classical and contemporary fiqh doctrines, academic literature, and relevant court decisions. The results of the study show that in Indonesia, the regulation of marriage agreements is contained in Undang-Undang Nomor 16 Tahun 2019, Kompilasi Hukum Islam, and Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Perdata, characterized by increased flexibility following a Constitutional Court decision allowing agreements to be concluded after the marriage has taken place. In Malaysia, the regulation is more systematically structured under the Akta Undang-Undang Keluarga Islam (Wilayah-Wilayah Persekutuan) 1984, which positions taklik as an integral component of Islamic family law administration. Meanwhile, in Singapore, the regulation falls within the framework of the Administration of Muslim Law Act 1966, which institutionally integrates Sharia principles into the national legal system. Comparatively, the three countries share similarities in recognizing marital agreements as preventive instruments of legal protection, yet they differ in terms of formation procedures, validation mechanisms, and binding force. The study concludes that the effectiveness of marital agreements is significantly influenced by each country’s normative design and institutional legal structure. Therefore, strengthening regulatory frameworks and harmonizing legal protection principles based on justice and legal certainty are urgent necessities for the development of Islamic family law in Southeast Asia.
