Abstract

Indonesia is a country that has an area of sea three times larger than the land area. In line with the rapid development, the need for electricity is also increasing. So that Indonesia has great potential to produce alternative and environmentally friendly energy, namely Sea Wave Energy. Its continuous nature is available all the time. Many potential coastal areas in Indonesia, however, have not been utilized optimally. The purpose of this study is to see the potential of Wave Energy for electricity. For this reason, research was carried out at a location in the Central Sulawesi area, precisely in Salubomba, Central Banawa District, Donggala Regency. In this study a potential study was conducted on 3 types of PLTGL, namely Buoy, OWC, and Pasut Dam, where one will be chosen that meets the wave criteria requirements on the Beach. From the results of research, PLTGL that fulfills the requirements is the type of buoy. Data collection begins with secondary data, namely wind data from Mutiara Station. Then proceed with calculating wave forecasting using the SMB (Sverdrup Munk-Bretschneider) method. The results of this study, Salubomba beach has the potential to be built by the Buoy Type Wave Power Plant, a significant wave height of 0.52 - 3.37 meters with a ruptured depth of 3.95 meters.

Abstract

Harmonic is one of sinusoidal components, one wave period from which having multiple frequency of its fundamental frequency one, leading to electrical power quality problems. Harmonic distortion in term of voltage and current ones, generally is due to non linier impedance. Inverter is one of example of it. There are some items that will be measured. There are value ofharmonic at source and value of voltage and current harmonic when inverter does not have any load. IEEE Standard of 519-1992 as a reference in determining maximum limitation voltage and current harmonics. The result of the tests wereshowed that voltage harmonic distortion at inverter did not exceed the IEEE 519-1992 maximum limitation of 5%. Whilecurrent harmonic distortion had exceed the maximum limitation of the IEEE 519-1992. The highest results were exceeding56,55 % when inverter does not have any load.

After using passive filter that function for reducing the value of harmonic, the total harmonic distortion (THD) current w only 6,837% when inverter does not have any load.

Abstract

Heat transfer is the transfer of energy from one area to another due to the temperature difference between these areas. Wasted heat energy can be converted into electricity using (TEG) between the hot and cold sides. If the temperature difference is more significant, the efficiency may increase along with the operating temperature of the TEG-type material. So in this study, the author will calculate the heat transfer that occurs in Photovoltaic (PV), Thermoelectric Generator (TEG), and Hot Mirrors by utilizing thermal energy light produced from Muxindo LED bulbs with 10 Watt, 15 Watt, and 20 Watt power. The results of this study indicate that by using 10, 15, and 20 Watt LED bulbs for free convection heat transfer, the power generated from each point increases because it passes through several obstacles from objects that experience a decrease in temperature to PV and TEG, with the characteristics of the displacement. The movement of molecules from the medium importance follows convection heat at every point of transfer in the intermediate substance. The most significant power generated from radiant heat transfer is about 0.1873 Watt. It occurs on the surface of the fresnel lens using a 20 Watt LED bulb with the characteristic that the radiation propagates in a straight line and does not require an intermediate medium to transfer heat from one substance to another. The most significant conduction heat transfer power, 0.2453 Watt, occurs in Fresnel Lens using a 20 Watt LED bulb with heat transfer characteristics in solid objects.

Abstract

Central Sulawesi has tropical climate conditions with interconnected rivers caused each of it can experience the impact of the sudden rise of water levels if there is a heavy rainfall in upstream areas which is commonly called “a sent flood”. Therefore, it is needed an early detector flood tool that works based on the height of river water level so that the impact of floods can be minimized. Early detector flood tool can function automatically by giving early warning when water levels reach a certain limit. The detector of height levels of river streams is designed using float magnetic level gauge method. This height level of river streams detector is able to provide information in real time based on the height level of river streams by giving information in the form of warning light indicator and siren alarm as alert and danger sign.

Abstract

Voltage losses are problems that often occur in distribution systems, resulting in voltage drops to reduce the electrical power supplied to consumers. The allowable stress drop in the distribution is +5% and -10%. One way to overcome this is to place scattered power plants into account the given location and capacity (MW and MVar). In this study, optimization of generator placement using an effective method is Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). PSO is an algorithm that implements problem understanding. The sequence of news generators is carried out by directing the selection of Gbest, which has a minimum voltage drop value by increasing the number of particles. Initial simulation using a power flow study run via Matlab and ETAP. The objective function of this optimization process is drop voltage minimization with contraint function is the power loss of each bus. The final simulation found the best generator locations on buses 7, 10, and 13. After optimization, the voltage increase was obtained by 4.05%, 9.05%, and 10.15% on each bus.

Abstract

Renewable energy is an alternative energy to reduce the use of fossil energy, one of the renewable energy used today is photovoltaic. photovoltaic converts solar energy into electrical energy. The efficiency of photovoltaic is very low, so a method is needed to get the maximum power. The method for getting maximum power from photovoltaic is called Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT). MPPT is a method to track the power point of an energy source to produce maximum power. There are various methods and ways to realize MPPT control, one of which is the Modified Hill Climbing Algorithm (MHC) . The algorithm determines the duty cycle setting on the SEPIC Converter. It is intended that the converter work at maximum power. In testing using measurement and calculation data, the average tracking efficiency value = 99.99486%, the average tracking speed value = 0.189978s and the average tracking power value = 50.56408 Watt. Modified Hill Climbing Method provides better tracking power and efficiency when compared to simple Hill Climbing, but makes the Steady state response time 0.1s longer.

Abstract

Indonesia dan federasi Jerman memiliki perjanjian berupa program Innovation and Investment for Inclusive Sustainable Economic Development (ISED) program ini dilaksanakan oleh Bappenas dan Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) GmbH dengan pelaksana kegiatan PT. Entec Indonesia. Tujuan program untuk mempromosikan dan memastikan lapangan kerja hijau di sektor energi, Pelatihan ini sudah direformasi secara inovatif, untuk memfasilitasi peningkatan kerangka kelembagaan dan peraturan jangka panjang. Metode pelatihan digunakan kombinasi pelatihan mulai dari pre test, introduksi, siklus hidrologi, bangunan air, studi lapangan, sistem mekanikal, elektrikal, biaya, penjadwalan, penyusunan dokumen laporan perencanaan PLTMH, simulasi unit turbin simulator, studi lapangan pembangkit Gunung Halu dan post test. Hasil dan pembahasan kegiatan dilaksanakan pada tanggal 19-23 Desember 2022 di Hycom BBPPMPV BMTI, Cimahi, Jawa Barat, peserta memiliki latar belakang majemuk diberikan pelatihan perencanaan PLTMH peserta diberikan materi, simulasi dan praktik menyusun perencanaan PLTMH. Kegiatan yang terselenggara terbukti dapat memberikan pengalaman bagi peserta merencanakan dan menyusun dokumen perencanaan.

Abstract

Implementasi program ISED mendukung pasar kerja inklusif dan berkelanjutan, mempromosikan lapangan kerja hijau sektor energi terbarukan. Pelatihan perencanaan PLTMH Program ISED, penyelenggara kegiatan Bappenas, GIZ dan PT. Entec Indonesia pada 19-23 Desember 2022 di laboratorium hidro HYCOM BBPVMPV BMTI. Hari kedua dilakukan pengujian performa simulator turbin untuk mengetahui daya dan efisiensi. Metode pengujian performa diterapkan pada simulator turbin crossflow offgrid. Penyimpangan disebabkan kurangnya volume air pada kolam. Saran untuk penyelenggara agar dapat memperhatikan kesiapan alat, sehingga hasil yang diperoleh dapat mendekati literatur.

Abstract

Network reconfiguration is a very economical technique that can improve electrical system performance. The development of semiconductor electrical equipment technology to meet human needs and work, known as nonlinear loads, has had a negative impact in the form of the spread of harmonic distortion which can accelerate the aging process and even damage equipment. In this paper, the effect of the optimization results of network reconfiguration techniques on the Sungguminasa 165-bus Executive Unit Service or Unit Layanan Pelanggan (ULP) electrical system is contaminated with harmonic distortion due to the use of nonlinear loads. This technique was optimized using the particle swarm optimization (PSO) method with a multi objective function in the form of minimizing %THDv and total losses with several limitations. Simulation results from the optimization process of several study cases are shown by activating the five tie switches from the network reconfiguration process on the Sungguminasa 165-bus ULP system which is able to improve power quality by reducing the average %THDv by 3.89% and total losses by 8.19%.
