Abstract

The elderly will experience changes both biologically, psychologically, socially, and spiritually. Spiritual needs are the need to find meaning and purpose in life, the need to love and be loved and the sense of attachment and the need to give and get. This study aims to determine the relationship between the spiritual level with the incidence of depression in the elderly in the Surabaya Social Service Work Area. The design of this research was analytic observational design with cross sectional approach. Samples were taken using Probability Sampling Technique with Simple Random Sampling approach and obtained a sample of 113 elderly people at UPTD Griya Werdha Jambangan and 18 elderly people at UPTD Liponsos Keputih Surabaya. This research instrument uses DSES (Daily Spiritual Exercise Scale) and GDS (Geriatric Depression Scale) Data analysis using Spearmen's Rho Test with the level ρ <α = 0.05. The results showed that the relationship between the spiritual level with the incidence of depression in the elderly with the Spearmen's Rho test results ρ = 0.00012 (ρ <0.05) and the correlation coefficient r = +0.372 which means that there is a low relationship (0.60 - 0.80) between the spiritual level variables with the incidence depression in the elderly. Results of the study. So it can be concluded that there is a relationship between the spiritual level with the incidence of depression in the elderly in the work area of the Surabaya Social Service.Keywords: Elderly, Spiritual, Depression

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic has a psychological effect on people with anxiety. In terms of individual psychological suffering, a major factor that is important is psychological resilience. The purpose of this study is to determine the relationship between the level of anxiety and the level of resilience of families who have the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Ketajen Village, Gedangan District. The design of this study used a cross-sectional design with a sample of 171 respondents. The sampling technique was selected by using simple random sampling. Reference levels are measured using a Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC) and anxiety levels are measured using a Hamilton Rating Scale for Anxiety (HRS-A) with a spearman rho analysis test (p< 0.05). The results showed that most families had moderate levels of resilience as many as 121 respondents (70.8%) and most families experienced mild anxiety levels as many as 121 respondents (70.8%). Spearman Rho test shows that the value of r = -0.313 with a value of ρ = 0.000 (ρ%). The results show that there is a relationship between the level of resilience and the level of anxiety of families who have the elderly during the Covid-19 pandemic at the Ketajen Village, Gedangan District. The implications of this study suggest that high levels of resilience allow for lower levels of anxiety. So, with the ability of a person's resilience will be able to take the meaning of failure and try better than he ever did, thereby reducing the risk of anxiety.

Abstract

Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB) berfungsi meningkatkan oksigenasi jaringan sehingga berpotensi mempengaruhi kualitas tidur. Kualitas tidur yang baik bagi penderita diabetes melitus berperan dalam pengendalian kadar gula darah, pemulihan tubuh, serta peningkatan sistem imun. Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menggambarkan kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB). Desain penelitian menggunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Sampel diambil secara keseluruhan dari penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbatik (TOHB) di LAKESLA Drs.Med. R. Rijadi, Phys sejumlah 29. Variabel dalam penelitian ini adalah kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani TOHB dan diukur menggunakan kuesioner Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa penderita diabetes melitus yang menjalani Terapi Oksigen Hiperbarik (TOHB) pada frekuensi terapi oksigen hiperbarik dalam jumlah sesi relative rendah, mayoritas responden masih berada pada tahap/sesi awal atau pertengahan program terapi. Kualitas tidur pasien yang menjalani terapi oksigen hiperbarik berada pada kualitas tidur sedang hingga baik. Implikasi penelitian ini adalah perlu komitmen dan keaktifan responden dalam menyelesaikan serangkaian sesi TOHB sehingga dapat meningkatkan kualitas tidur penderita diabetes melitus

Abstract

Background: The Relationship between Parenting Styles and Adolescent Social Development. Adolescent social development is the process of growing the ability to interact and understand social rules. Parenting styles play an important role in shaping children's attitudes and behavior in their social environment. This study aims to analyze the relationship between parenting styles and adolescent social development. Purpose: This study aims to analyze the relationship between parenting styles and adolescents’ social development. Methods: The research is a quantitative descriptive study with a cross-sectional approach. A sample of 165 students from class 11 at SMA Hang Tuah 5 Sidoarjo was selected using simple random sampling technique. The research was conducted on January 23-30, 2025. The questionnaire exploring Parenting styles were measured using the Parenting Styles and Dimensions Questionnaire-Short Version (PSDQ), and Adolescent Social Development Questionnaire (Rahmawati, 2021) for measured the social development. Data analysis used the Spearman rank correlation with alpha 5%. Results: The results showed that most parents applied democratic parenting styles (49.70%) and the majority of adolescents had fairly good social development (55.15%). The Spearman Rho test showed r = 0.323 with ρ = 0.01 (ρ < 0.05), indicating a weak relationship between parenting styles and adolescent social development. Conclusion: Adolescent social development does not always follow the same pattern because it is influenced by various factors, such as parenting styles, stimulation, health conditions, and child motivation. The ideal parenting style is one that balances supervision and freedom, supported by fulfilling needs and good communication. Therefore, parents are advised to apply a balanced parenting style to support optimal social development in adolescents.

Abstract

Background, Mental health of school-age children will be achieved by individuals who are able to develop physically, intellectually, and emotionally. However, because of the magnitude of infectious diseases that occur, mental health problems are not too taken into account. School-age children who have mental health problems like vulnerable emotional and behavior in the functioning of daily life, even experiencing difficulties in learning and socialization functions. The problem is often not responded to in time so that school-age children come to the consultation in conditions that are quite severe and require appropriate treatment. The purpose of this activity is to improve students ' knowledge related to mental health problems in school-age children. Methods, Community service consists of three stages, Education, Student Assistance and ended by the evaluation of health education activities on mental health problems in school-age children at SD Muhammadiyah 9 Surabaya. These activities involve the head of School, teachers and students. Results and discussion, the results of posttest conducted obtained 78% of participants were able to correctly answer questions about mental health problems in school-age children. Conclusion, it is expected that school students can become the successors of the nation who have an understanding and knowledge of mental health problems in school-age children in order to form self-awareness of the understanding and knowledge that has been obtained by students.
