Abstract

Multi-soil-layering (MSL) is well-known as an emerging technology for wastewater treatment. However, limited studies have been conducted on the crumb rubber industry. Thus, this study aims to reduce the crumb rubber industrial wastewater using MSL system. Four models of MSL conducted it. They are (1) constructed by body size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal; (2) body size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil, fine charcoal, sawdust, and iron particles; (3) tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal; and (4) tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil, fine charcoal and sawdust. The construction models were installed in the variance of the box and each of them was flowed by the Hydraulic Loading Rate of wastewater. Aeration treatment is given to the maximum hydraulic loading rate. The result showed that MSL systems significantly minimize the crumb rubber industrial wastewater under requirements that cover Biochemical Oxygen Demand (BOD), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Total Suspended Solid (TSS), Total Nitrogen (T-N) and Total ammonia (T-NH3). It also significantly neutralizes the power of Hydrogen (pH) up to 6. The highest reduction was obtained by the MSL 3 system (tube size of gravel with a mixture of andosol soil and fine charcoal). The aeration significantly decreased the BOD, COD, TSS, and ammonia from 85% to 99%. Although the aeration process enhanced the performance of MSL system, however, MSL without aeration successfully treated the wastewater to meet the required standard. This study provides new insight into the effectiveness of MSL system in reducing pollutant parameters of crum rubber industrial wastewater.

Abstract

Every year, the population continues to grow, leading to an increase in daily activities. To meet transportation needs, light motor vehicles, such as petrol motorcycles, are the main choice. Motorbikes have been widely marketed in various models. Along with the development of knowledge about motorbikes, there is a type of automatic motorbike (matic). internal combustion piston engine is a type of heat engine that transforms fuel energy into mechanical energy through the movement of a piston. It uses one or more moving pistons to convert pressure into rotational motion. Inside the engine cylinder, a fuel mixture is introduced, producing hot gases that push the piston down and drive the crankshaft. The types of fuel used include premium, pertalite, and pertamax. The combustion of these fuels has an impact on the environment. PT Pertamina (Persero) plans to discontinue premium fuel and replace it with pertalite and pertamax, which are increasingly favoured by consumers. A study revealed that pertamax fuel is more effective at improving engine performance than pertalite, as shown by dyno test results that showed the highest torque and power values with pertamax fuel at 6,000 RPM, namely 6.01 kW and 9.53 nM.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan seberapa efektif pembelajaran mesin bubut Augmented Reality yang menggunakan android terhadap hasil belajar siswa di SMK Dhuafa Padang yang diharapkan dapat menjadi solusi untuk mengatasi masalah pembelajaran dalam teknik pemesinan bubut dan hasil belajar siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Metode Kuantitatif Desain Eksperimental Quasai untuk memastikan apakah partisipan yang diteliti berbeda atau tidak. Hasil analisis rata-rata yang ditunjukkan dengan rata-rata nilai post-test kelas eksperimen sebesar 83,53 dan kelas kontrol sebesar 79,47 menunjukkan bahwa hasil belajar penerapan media Augmented Reality diperoleh sebanyak 15 siswa, menurut penelitian yang dilakukan pada hasil post-test hanya diperoleh hasil belajar dari 30 siswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran. Menurut temuan penelitian, penggunaan media augmented reality mempengaruhi seberapa baik siswa belajar.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the low learning outcomes of students in the subject of Entrepreneurship Creative Products. Teachers still cannot carry out the learning process properly and optimally. This results in student learning outcomes. This study aims to describe the making of door trellis with the Project Based Learning model in the learning process to improve the learning outcomes of Entrepreneurship Creative Products at SMK. This type of research is classroom action research (PTK) using qualitative and quantitative approaches. The subjects of this research were students of class XI SMK Dhuafa Padang with 25 students, researchers as practitioners and class teachers as observers. This research was conducted in two cycles, which consisted of planning, implementation, observation and reflection. Research data obtained from observations of the learning process, tests in the form of evaluation sheets done by students, and non-tests taken from observations of students' skills. In cycle I learning outcomes obtained a percentage of 52% and cycle II obtained a percentage of 96% completeness with very good qualifications. Thus it can be concluded that learning Entrepreneurial Creative Products making door trellis with Project Based Learning model can improve learning outcomes.

Abstract

Biodiesel is one of the various alternative energy options to replace the role of diesel or petroleum. Using the basic ingredient, namely palm oil, which is renewable and more environmentally friendly. The palm oil used is not used cooking oil because the focus of this research is to test the effect of boiler waste ash as a catalyst so that the esterification stage can be skipped and focuses on the transesterification stage. The catalyst commonly used today is a homogeneous catalyst that is produced and has a negative impact if there is too much residual substance. Currently, there is not much use for boiler waste ash so much of it is wasted as waste and it is known that boiler waste ash is alkaline and contains alkaline substances so that it can be used as a heterogeneous catalyst to replace homogeneous catalysts. At this tranesterification stage, two types of treatment are given, namely variations in temperature and catalyst concentration to see the best comparison of the several types of samples. The transesterification stage uses a 1:1 ratio of oil and methanol and the addition of 1% KOH. The results of this stage produce biodiesel with characteristics, namely a density ranging between 854-859 Kg/m3 and a viscosity in the range 3,32-4,47 mm2/s, which meets SNI biodiesel standards. From this research, it can be concluded that boiler waste ash has the potential as a heterogeneous catalyst in making biodiesel, replacing homogeneous catalysts and adding to the processing of palm oil boiler waste.

Abstract

Based on data from the Coordinating Ministry for the Economy, in 2022 Indonesia will contribute 52% of palm oil to the world market share and will be able to produce 40% of the world's total vegetable oil, this will encourage Indonesia to increase the use of biofuels such as biodiesel.Rice husks are still not well utilized so they only become piles of waste. This research aims to determine the effect of rice husk ash as a catalyst in making biodiesel. Rice husks contain compounds as catalyst support, namely SiO2.At this tranesterification stage, two types of treatment are given, namely variations in temperature and catalyst concentration to see the best comparison of the several types of samples. The transesterification stage uses a 1:1 ratio of oil and methanol and the addition of 1% KOH. The results of this stage produce biodiesel with characteristics, namely a density ranging from 857.2-862.4 Kg/m3 and a viscosity in the range 3.25-4.48 mm2/s which meets SNI biodiesel standards. From this research it can be concluded that rice husk ash has the potential as a heterogeneous catalyst in making biodiesel to replace homogeneous catalysts.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyse the effect of attitudes and motivation to learn on Islamic education comprehension among engineering students. It also identified the role of motivation as a mediator between attitude and Islamic education comprehension. This study employed a quantitative method with a survey study. The participants were first-year and end-year engineering students in Higher Education Institutions who were chosen by purposive sampling. Data were gathered from 250 samples by using one set of questionnaires. SmartPLS with Structure Equation Modeling was carried out to analyse data. Furthermore, path analysis at two-tailed significance (p<0.05) examines hypotheses and the effect of each antecedent on Islamic education comprehension. The findings of this study confirmed that attitude had no significant impact on Islamic education comprehension among engineering students. But attitude affects the motivation to learn. Motivation to learn affects Islamic education comprehension. These findings reveal that motivation to learn is a significant antecedent as a mediator in the relationship between attitude and Islamic education comprehension. This study is limited by a questionnaire to gather the data and area restrictions. This study involved Muslim engineering students in higher education institutions who have not been assigned to other studies on Islamic education. Generally, other Islamic education studies analyse subjects in Madrasah or other Islamic education institutions.

Abstract

Penelitian ini membahas pengaruh variasi temperatur terhadap kualitas biodiesel yang diproduksi dari minyak jelantah melalui metode transesterifikasi. Minyak jelantah dipilih sebagai bahan baku karena ketersediaannya yang melimpah serta potensinya sebagai energi alternatif ramah lingkungan. Proses transesterifikasi dilakukan pada tiga variasi suhu, yaitu 55°C, 60°C, dan 65°C, untuk mengetahui bagaimana perubahan suhu memengaruhi karakteristik biodiesel yang dihasilkan. Parameter kualitas yang dianalisis meliputi bilangan asam, densitas, dan viskositas. Selain itu, dilakukan juga uji emisi asap dengan menggunakan biodiesel terbaik pada mesin diesel dengan putaran konstan 2000 RPM dan beban 1000–4000 watt. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa variasi temperatur memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap kualitas biodiesel. Suhu optimum memberikan hasil dengan bilangan asam yang rendah, viskositas dan densitas yang sesuai dengan standar SNI 04-7182-2015, serta emisi asap yang lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan bahan bakar solar. Dengan demikian, pemanfaatan minyak jelantah sebagai bahan baku biodiesel dapat menjadi solusi dalam pengelolaan limbah rumah tangga serta sebagai alternatif bahan bakar yang lebih ramah lingkungan. Penelitian ini juga memberikan kontribusi dalam pengembangan energi terbarukan dan mendukung strategi pengurangan ketergantungan terhadap bahan bakar fosil.

Abstract

Tujuan pelaksanaan pengebadian kepada masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkakan ekonomi masyarakat petani gambir melalui efesiensi waktu, biaya, dan tenaga yang dibutuhkan dalam pengolahan getah gambir. Inovasi yang ditawarkan berada pada proses pencetakan getah gambir. Permasalahan mendasar masyarakat pada proses ini berada pada waktu dan tenaga yang dibutuhkan dalam proses pencetakan getah sehingga harus membayar upah tenaga kerja untuk proses pencetakan. Metode yang digunakan dalam pengabdian ini dengan memberikan teori pengantar, demonstrasi, praktek dan aplikatifnya secara langsung. Hasil dari kegiatan ini adanya alat pencetak getah gambir dengan mekanisme impact yang menjadikan proses pencetakan lebih cepat, mudah dan efisien. Alat pencetak telah diserah terima dengan masyarakat petani gambir melalui pemerintah kenagarian.

Abstract

Banyaknya angka pengangguran akan menimbulkan dampak sosial yang kurang baik di tengah masyarakat. Untuk itu perlu adanya upaya untuk meningkatkan keterampilan masyarakat melalui pelatihan. Artikel ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan proses pelatihan dalam rangkan peningkatan kemampuan berwirausaha pembuatan bubuk kopi bagi ikatan pemuda di desa Cubadak Air dan Sikapak Barat. Metode pelatihan yang digunakan adalah metode ceramah dan demonstrasi. Pelatihan ini diikuti oleh 10 orang peserta yang berasal dari Desa Cubadak Air dan Sikapak Barat. Metode ceramah berupa penyampaian teori tentang kopi, teknik rosting, teknik grinding, packing dan pemasaran kopi. Metode demonstrasi digunakan mulai dari cara meroasting, menggrinding dan packing kopi. Hasil pelatihan terlihat bahwa peserta sangat termotivasi dan serius mengikuti pelatihan hal terlihat dari skor tes yang diberikan telah terjadi peningkatan yang signifikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan peserta tentang kopi, teknik roasting, grinding dan packing kopi dari rata-rata skor 63,0 menjadi 84,2. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa peserta mampu menyerap dengan baik pengetahuan dan keterampilan yang diberikan selama pelatihan. Diharapkan akan muncul wirausaha-wirausaha baru dalam bidang pembuatan bubuk kopi di daerah ini.
