Abstract

Waste is a by-product of human activity that has the potential to pollute the environment. Waste is a common problem in almost all conventional markets in Indonesia. If waste is not disposed of properly and accumulates in one location, it can cause air pollution, aesthetic problems and health risks. Organic waste, in particular, can cause the rapid spread of germs and disease vectors due to its potential for contamination. The aim of this research is to assess waste management practices at the Terong Traditional Market located in Makassar City. The type of research used is a cross-sectional study with a descriptive analytical observational approach to evaluate the condition of waste management at the Terong Traditional Market at a certain time. The sampling technique for this research is Simple Random Sampling with a sample size of 200 respondents.  The data analysis technique was carried out using statistical tests, namely, Chi Square. The results of the research show that the Chi Square Test value obtained was ρ = 0.001 < 0.05 for the waste storage, collection and transportation variables so it can be concluded that there is a relationship between waste storage, waste collection, waste transportation and waste management at the Terong Traditional Market in Makassar City.  Waste management at the Terong Traditional Market in Makassar City is considered inadequate according to Minister of Health Regulation No. 17 of 2020. It is recommended that traders and market managers be actively involved in sorting organic and inorganic waste to make the waste processing process at the landfill more effective. Abstract

Remote areas in Indonesia rely on diesel power plants with high costs, environmental impacts, and limited electricity access. Battery-based solar power offers a sustainable solution for 24-hour electricity while supporting digital economic growth. This study analyzes the combined capacity of PLTD and PLTS in providing continuous power in Sigapokna Village, Mentawai Islands. This study used comparative analysis methods, which compares conditions before and after PLTS operation. Results show that integration of 45 kW PLTD and 30 kWp PLTS increases customer operating hours from 7 hours to 10 hours per day, and planned PLTS expansion up to 170.8 kWp has potential to extend operating hours to 14 hours, even up to 24 hours with 319 kWp capacity. However, this capacity increase also impacts increased fuel oil consumption (BBM), demanding better energy efficiency strategies. These findings not only contribute to technical aspects of energy provision but also have significant implications for creative economy development and digital business in remote areas. Sustainable electricity access opens opportunities for Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) to utilize digital platforms, e-commerce, and digital financial services, while encouraging the birth of new digital-based energy business models (digital green business model) through Internet of Things (IoT) utilization, smart metering, and energy consumption data analysis. Thus, 24-hour electricity provision based on renewable energy not only improves community quality of life but also becomes a catalyst for digital economic transformation and social inclusion in Indonesia's 3T regions.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of criminal sanctions against online gambling perpetrators based on the Electronic Information and Transactions Law (UU ITE) in the jurisdiction of the Denpasar Police (Polresta Denpasar). This normative-empirical legal research uses statutory and conceptual approaches. Data was collected through interviews with law enforcement officials and analysis of primary and secondary legal materials. The findings indicate that the proliferation of online gambling in Denpasar is driven by a confluence of economic pressures, technological accessibility, psychological addiction, social normalization, and weaknesses in supervision and law enforcement. In response, Polresta Denpasar implements a holistic strategy combining repressive, preventive, and collaborative measures. Repressive efforts focus on applying Article 27 paragraph (2) of the UU ITE, although challenges persist in reaching overseas operators and limited digital forensic capacity. Preventive actions involve public education on the dangers of gambling and the promotion of local cultural values. Collaborative synergy is established with institutions like the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) for site blocking and the Financial Transaction Reports and Analysis Centre (PPATK) for financial flow tracking. The study concludes that effective eradication requires an integrated approach beyond mere law enforcement, addressing root causes such as economic inequality and the dynamic nature of cybercrime

Abstract

This paper began with concerns about the lacks of sharp rhetorical styles in writing, the methods of citing references, and the formulations of theories and arguments within the conceptual framework in thesis reports written by students of the English Language Education Department. The study was carried out to explain the rhetorical styles of students’ theoretical framework in their thesis report, to reveal weaknesses or the lack of strong arguments in conveying ideas in a straightforward and structured manner, and to suggest actions to prevent the problem form reoccurring in the future. The data were collected from the final project manuscripts written by students of the English Education Study Program, totaling 110 works. The analysis followed the stages of data collection, data display, data reduction and drawing conclusions. The general results of the research showed that the students did not include too many elements of critical thinking in their thesis literature review. In general, they used attribution quite excessively (78%), followed by elements of establishing links between sources (15%), and comparing their own findings or interpretations with other sources 4%. Meanwhile, the elements of application, evaluation, and statement of use had the smallest portion, each 1%. Problems found in the sample were listed based on the comparison between the data and the standard commonly used to regulate the procedure of writing a scientific paper. Recommendations were then formulated which can be used as guidelines for final project writers or any other parties related to writing scientific papers in general; they are training students of the importance of using all rhetorical styles in their citation when preparing a strong conceptual framework.

Abstract

This study critically examines the psychometric properties of measurement instruments for key constructs in digital Islamic communication research, focusing on micro-dai phenomena. The analysis reveals fundamental methodological flaws, with Cronbach’s α (-0.072 to 0.090) and validity metrics (0.108–0.127) failing to meet acceptable thresholds. Discriminant validity assessment through Fornell-Larcker criterion demonstrated systematic measurement invalidity, while anomalous negative correlations between authenticity and donation behavior (-0.305) challenge theoretical assumptions. The findings necessitate reconceptualization of digital religious authority, authenticity, and audience engagement constructs, emphasizing context-sensitive instrumentation. This research provides crucial methodological insights for future studies in digital religion, highlighting the imperative for interdisciplinary approaches integrating communication theory, psychometrics, and digital culture studies to advance the field’s methodological rigor.

Abstract

Islamophobia remains a pervasive global challenge, necessitating innovative counter-strategies. This study provides a comprehensive bibliometric analysis of 1,028 Scopus-indexed publications (2014-2024) examining digital storytelling by the Indonesian Diaspora as a counter-narrative against Islamophobia. Through performance analysis and science mapping using VOSviewer, the research reveals distinct intellectual foundations through co-citation analysis, identifying four key clusters: psychological behavior antecedents, social media marketing, SME digital empowerment, and technology acceptance models. Concurrently, bibliographic coupling analysis uncovers three emerging research fronts focusing on digital technology adoption in education, interdisciplinary sustainability pathways, and e-learning success models. While these frameworks provide valuable theoretical foundations, significant limitations persist, particularly the dominance of technocratic approaches that overlook socio-political complexities in Islamophobic discourse. The study concludes by proposing six critical research agendas: platform-specific algorithm optimization, psychological message framing, cultural brokerage roles, sustainable business models, computational social science applications, and digital diplomacy synergies. These findings not only map the current scholarly landscape but also advocate for more integrated, critical approaches to understanding diaspora-led digital counter-narratives in combating global Islamophobia.
