Abstract

Three-phase induction motors are the main drivers of the industrial world because of their low price and good reliability. However, this type of motor does not have built-in speed control. These problems can be overcome by utilizing the Variable Frequency Drive (VFD) inverter. This research investigates the induction motor's characteristics in every load condition and combines a VFD inverter with an external speed controller based on Arduino. The motor is mounted on a Prony brake testbed frame to measure the motor's torque and mechanical power. The test results show the highest torque value obtained is 0.57 Nm, and the highest output power value is 0.042 kW. The motor cannot maintain the setpoint speed after loading in the open-loop control system. Meanwhile, the closed-loop control system has been successfully implemented, and the motor can return the speed to the setpoint value after loading, with an average settling time of 14.67 seconds.

Abstract

In this digital age, most aspects of life require an electric supply. The availability of electrical power is very critical to maintaining the continuity of the system in various applications. To maintain system continuity, the Energy Monitoring and Control of an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) between the Grid and Solar Panel is proposed. The system consists of an Automatic Transfer Switch, Home Solar Power Plant, and Automatic Charging. The function of the monitoring system is to monitor the voltage, current, and power across the device, the operation mode of the ATS, and the State of Charge (SoC) of the battery. The control system is to control the operation mode of ATS according to the energy source selected by the user on the Internet of Things (IoT) interface. The results show that the system can successfully monitor solar panel conditions, AC output, and battery's State of Charge through Blynk IoT. The ATS works automatically with a switching delay of 20ms to 26ms, while on the user's command, the average switching delay is 303.33ms to activate the relay and 185ms to deactivate the relay.

Abstract

The development of technology at this time has an important role for all human needs and needs. One of the technologies that are currently developing is technology in the field of transportation. The development of electric vehicles is very relevant to be developed. However, in electric vehicles on the market, the control system used is less than optimal to respond to the load given to electric vehicles, resulting in a decrease in performance and waste of electrical energy. In general, BLDC motors which are often used as control systems use a position sensor (Hall effect sensor) in determining driver commutation. The use of position sensors often results in errors in configuration with the controller, difficulty in installation in case of damage, sensitivity of the sensor to temperature increases and the price of the sensor is relatively expensive. The use of sensorless method with Back EMF detection is an alternative solution to determine inverter commutation on BLDC motors. In this thesis, a BLDC motor speed control is developed which provides optimal, efficient and safe performance. This control system uses driver IC IR2101 and power switching MOSFET IRFZ44N. As a prototype, a 1000KV BLDC motor is used, controlled by an Arduino microcontroller and an ESP32 which is monitored by Blynk. The result achieved is that this system is able to control the rotation of the motor and stabilize the speed when there is a change in load. The efficiency of the no-load system reaches 46.48% and at maximum loading it reaches 36.98%, the best efficiency is obtained in the propeller II loading variation with an efficiency of 86.34%.

Abstract

This research enhances Smart Home Systems by integrating an Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) for seamless power source switching between the grid and a backup battery, ensuring uninterrupted operation during power disruptions. An Automatic Battery Charging (ABC) system optimizes battery charging based on its condition, improving energy storage and efficiency. The system provides on-site electrical equipment control and sensor data access via a Human Machine Interface (HMI). Remote monitoring and control through the Blynk app offer convenience. Additionally, an energy consumption estimation feature allows users to estimate billing costs, with the Battery State of Charge (SoC) indicating the remaining battery capacity. Hardware testing showed the system's reliability with a 2-4 second ATS response and ±2-second ABC response. This research offers homeowners reliable power continuity and energy optimization. It contributes to IoT-based smart home systems, demonstrating ATS and ABC effectiveness, advancing both theory and practice for modern smart living.

Abstract

Electric vehicles provide a solution for using alternative fuels, namely, electricity. Electric vehicles are used for short distances and intercity travel over long distances, increasing the risk of accidents. Cruise Control is a technology embedded in vehicles to maintain stable speeds; this system will automatically adjust the vehicle's speed when motion changes cause changes in vehicle speed. This study aims to apply lidar sensors to detect distance in the Intelligent Cruise Control (ICC) system using the Fuzzy-PID control method. Testing results were obtained at safe distance inputs of 5, 6, and 7 meters with various object distances. All the tests were carried out; the response systems were obtained with an average settling time of 5 seconds and an average overshoot of 1.53%. Therefore, the proposed Fuzzy-PID method works well for controlling Intelligent Cruise Control systems in autonomous electric vehicle prototypes.

Abstract

This literature review comprehensively explains the role of sentiment analysis as a policymaking solution in companies, organizations, and individuals. The issue at hand is how sentiment analysis can be effectively applied in decision making. The solution is to integrate sentiment analysis with the latest NLP trends. The contribution of this research is the assessment of 100-200 recent studies in the period 2020-2024 with a sample of more than 5,000 data, as well as the impact of the resulting policy recommendations. The methods used include evaluation of techniques such as Deep Learning, lexicon-based, and Machine Learning, using evaluation matrices such as F1-score, precision, recall, and accuracy. The results showed that Deep Learning techniques achieved an average accuracy of 93.04%, followed by lexicon-based approaches with 88.3% accuracy and Machine Learning with 83.58% accuracy. The findings also highlight the importance of data privacy and algorithmic bias in supporting more responsive and data-driven policymaking. In conclusion, sentiment analysis is reliable in areas such as e-commerce, healthcare, education, and social media for policy-making recommendations. However, special attention should be paid to challenges such as language differences, data bias, and context ambiguity which can be addressed with models such as mBERT, model auditing, and proper tokenization.
