Abstract

This study aims to describe the differences in student's GPAs at the Mathematics and Natural Science Education (PMIPA) Department of Tadulako University who enter through the Joint Selection to Enter State Universities (SBMPTN) pathway with the Print-Based Written Test (UTBC) in 2018 and Computer-Based Writing Examination (UTBK) systems in 2019, describe the relationship of external motivation of students in choosing majors with GPA based on the SBMPTN (UTBC and UTBK) pathway. The samples used were all students at the PMIPA Study Program of Tadulako University who entered through the UTBC SBMPTN pathway in 2018 as many as 134 students and 130 students of UTBK 2019. There is an insignificant difference in the students' GPA through the UTBC and UTBK SBMPTN pathway. The students of UTBK have a higher GPA in the second semester than the students of UTBC, with the average GPA of UTBC students is 3.407, and the average GPA of UTBK students is 3.525. There is no relationship between students' external motivation in choosing a major against students' GPA at the PMIPA department of Tadulako University, but factors of interest and self-will influence it.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning learning model on student learning outcomes in the matter of reaction rates at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo. The population in this study were all students of class XI IPA at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo, academic year 2022/2023, totaling 150 people consisting of 5 classes. This type of research is a type of quasi-experimental research with a research design using the pretest and posttest of the experimental group and the control group. Sampling was carried out based on special considerations (purposive sampling) with a research sample of XI IPA E totaling 30 students as an experimental class using the Project Based Learning learning model, XI IPA A totaling 30 students as a control class using conventional learning models. Data collection techniques using test techniques, Based on the results of the study it can be concluded that there is an influence of the learning model on the material on the reaction rate on student learning outcomes at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo. This is based on the results of calculations using the SPSS Version 26 application where the value of Sig (2-tailed) = 0.007 <0.05 then Ha is accepted and Ho is rejected, meaning that there is a significant influence between the use of the Project Based Learning learning model on the reaction rate material on learning outcomes students at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo.

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the effect Google Classroom and WhatsApp Group applications on the interest and learning outcomes in chemistry during the Covid-19 pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo. It was a quasi-experimental study. The sample was students of class X MIA D and X MIA E for the 2021/2022 academic year, totaling 66 students. The interest in learning and learning outcomes were tested statistically using analysis t-test two parties. The results of data analysis showed that the mean score of student learning outcomes in the experimental class was 78.5, while in the control class was 86. The data analysis of questionnaires on students’ learning interest showed that the experimental class was in a "Undecided" attitude with a positive category of 63, 2% and the control class is in the "Strongly Agree" attitude with a positive category of 82.1%. The results of the normality test for each data set revealed that all data groups of interest and learning outcomes in both the experimental and control classes were normally distributed, as indicated by a significant probability value> (0.05). Similarly, the homogeneity assumption test results revealed that all data groups in observation variables were homogeneous, with a significant probability value> (0.05). Thus, there was an effect of using the Google Classroom and WhatsApp Group applications on students’ interest and learning outcomes in chemistry during the Covid-19 Pandemic at SMA Negeri 1 Ampibabo.

Abstract

The Islamic conception of knowledge does not limit knowledge about reality to that obtained through experimentation and theoretical reasoning only. Natural knowledge that is understood does not just answer human desires if we can accommodate revelation and intuition, including the spiritual and physical aspects of humans and the cosmos. Understanding the integration of Islamic values in natural science (science) learning is implied in the Qur'an. The Koran does not conflict between science and religion. In fact, in many of His verses it is emphasized that humans should always think about events in nature to strengthen their religious beliefs. Science in this case is also not a separate part of religion. Science is an integral part of the Islamic religion. The Koran states that science, like the science of human life, is an integral part of religion. Science teaches humans how to manage nature, carry out various processes, and produce things for life's needs. Meanwhile, religion teaches humans about value systems. Religion teaches the value of piety towards the Khaliq and the value of kindness towards others.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the problem-based learning model on science process skills and metacognitive awareness of class XI MIPA students at SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. This type of research is quasi-experimental by using the Pretest-Posttest control group design. The study population was (N = 129) students of class XI MIPA SMA Negeri 1 Dampal Selatan. The sampling technique is simple random sampling. Class XI MIPA 1 (n = 32) students as the experimental class and class XI MIPA 4 (n = 32) students as the control class. The research data was collected by using an essay test to measure science process skills and questionnaires to measure the metacognitive awareness of students on the salt hydrolysis materials. Data were analyzed descriptively with the statistic application. The science process skills of students with the problem-based learning implementation model had (M = 71.84, SD = 7.956) with an effect size value of 8.92 while the discovery learning model had (M = 72.34, SD = 7.872) with an effect size value of 8.33. Metacognition awareness of students with problem-based learning implementation model has (M = 77.03, SD = 3,961) with an effect size value of 5.56 while the discovery learning model has (M = 77.62, SD = 2.738) with an effect size value of 6.46. Research result show that: (1) the problem-based learning model affects the science process skills of students on the salt hydrolysis materials; (2) the problem-based learning model affects the metacognitive awareness of students on the salt hydrolysis materials; (3) there is a positive relationship between science process skills and metacognitive awareness of students on the salt hydrolysis materials. Key words: Problem-based learning, science process skills, metacognition awareness

Abstract

The study aims to describe the impact of the use of audiovisual media in the form of video learning on the learning results of students at Sigi District State High School 10. The research method is quantitative research with a type of quasi-experimental research or experimental experiment with a design pretest-posttest control group design. The differences in learning results on reaction speed between experimental and control classes are shown by the results of Wilcoxon and Mann Whitney's statistical analysis tests. The results of the Wilcoxons and Mann whitney statistical analytics tests on the post-test values of experimental classes and the control classes both show the significance values Asymp.Sig.(2-tailed) = <0,000. Because of the signification values Asymp.Sig.(2-tailed) = 0,000 < 0,05. Then from the two results of these statistical analyses it can be concluded that there is an influence of the use of audiovisual media in the form of video learning on the learning outcomes of students in SMAN 10 Sigi.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the improvement of student learning outcomes by applying the Think-Pair-Share (TPS) cooperative learning model on hydrocarbon material in class XI SMA Negeri 2 Sigi. This study's research type is pre-experimental with a one-group pretest posttest design. This study utilized purposive sampling. The sample consisted of two classes: class XI IPA 3 as the experimental class 1 (n = 22) and class XI IPA 4 as the experimental class 2 (n = 24). Student learning outcomes data are processed using the learning improvement test (N-gain). The application of the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model to improve student learning outcomes on Hydrocarbons can be seen from the average N-gain value in the two experimental classes, including in the high category, namely 0.77 and 0.78. Therefore, applying the Think Pair Share (TPS) cooperative learning model can improve student learning outcomes on average greater than 75 (KKM) of SMA Negeri 2 Sigi students in Class XI on hydrocarbon material.
