Abstract

COVID-19 is a highly contagious disease. People who travel in this situation, including air travel, can increase the risk of transmitting or being transmitted by COVID-19. The attack rate of COVID-19 during air travel is 4.8%. It is necessary to form a new behaviour regarding good health preparation before travelling to prevent the spread of COVID-19. A person's behaviour can be affected by knowledge and attitude. This research aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitude towards the travel health preparation behaviour of air travellers during the COVID-19 pandemic. This research is an observational analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. The population in this study was people who travelled by air from Soekarno-Hatta International Airport during the COVID-19 pandemic, with inclusion sample criteria of people who travelled by air in June – October 2021 and were aged 15–64 years old. The sample was collected using a purposive sampling technique using social media, and 104 respondents were obtained. The data was collected using an online questionnaire via a Google form. The result shows that the majority of respondents have good knowledge (44.2%), a positive attitude (59.6%) and good behaviour (76%). There was no significant relation between knowledge and behaviour (p=0.066) and a significant relation between attitudes and behaviour (p=0.000). This result can be caused by several factors influencing behaviour, such as other predisposing factors (besides knowledge and attitudes), enabling factors, and reinforcing factors, such as easy access to massive information about the COVID-19 pandemic and strict government regulation.

Abstract

The problem of stunting remains a prevalent health issue in Indonesia. Stunting not only affects typically developing individuals but can also occur among persons with disabilities. The suboptimal prevention of stunting is largely due to insufficient knowledge regarding its control and prevention within the disability community. Based on this concern, the Community Service Team of UPNVJ conducted an outreach activity with the aim of educating persons with disabilities about stunting prevention. The implementation method of this activity consisted of three stages: firstly, the pre-activity phase involved preparing the necessary resources and conducting location surveys. Secondly, the execution phase included checking for stunting among participants followed by providing educational sessions on stunting prevention. Lastly, there were discussions on stunting prevention strategies and distribution of support packages to the participants. The result of this activity is that participants gain an understanding of the methods and steps for controlling and preventing stunting among individuals with disabilities, and they are able to create balanced meal patterns or portions to prevent stunting.

Abstract

Introduction: Fear of getting COVID-19 has led to an upsurge in mental health problems, particularly among those who deal directly with others, such as cabin crew. A regulation has been established requiring travelers to attach the results of a COVID-19 test to prevent the transmission of the virus during flight. While the number of confirmed COVID-19 cases continued to rise, the regulations were subsequently repealed in early 2022. The marital status of an individual is one factor that can influence the level of anxiety. Studies regarding the correlation between marital status and anxiety levels of cabin crew during the COVID-19 pandemic in Indonesia are still lacking. This study aims to determine the correlation between marital status and anxiety levels of Indonesian cabin crews in 2022. Methods: In November 2022, a cross-sectional offline survey was conducted using a written questionnaire. Using consecutive sampling with inclusion and exclusion criteria, a final sample of 79 was analyzed. The independent variable is classified as either married or unmarried based on Indonesia Law Act No. 1 of 1974. Anxiety levels, the dependent variable, were collected using a Hamilton Anxiety Rating Scale (HARS) questionnaire and a personal data questionnaire. Results: A correlation was observed between the marital status of Indonesian cabin attendants in 2022 and their anxiety levels (p=0.025), according to the findings. Conclusion: Increased anxiety levels about cabin personnel's marital status are driven by the worry of catching COVID-19, which will result in feelings of loneliness, particularly for cabin crew with unmarried marital status

Abstract

Introduction: Hypoxia is a condition characterized by insufficient oxygen supply to tissues which causes body tissues to fail to get adequate oxygen supply. Hypobaric hypoxia is generally recognized as the most serious physiological hazard during high-altitude flight. This puts active crew members at risk for hypoxia and so they rely on effective performance time (EPT) or time useful consciousness (TUC) to take appropriate corrective and protective actions when hypoxia occurs. This study aimed to describe TUC scores and hypoxia symptoms experienced by active flight crew at dr. Saryanto Health Institute of Aeronautics and Space in 2021. Methods: A descriptive research design using medical record data from 99 flight crew with simple random sampling. The variables in this study consisted of hypoxia symptoms and TUC scores. This study uses univariate analysis to see the frequency distribution of the variables of hypoxia symptoms and TUC score. Results: The results showed that 18.2% experienced cognitive symptoms, 4% experienced psychomotor symptoms, 16.2% experienced visual symptoms, 3% experienced psychological symptoms, 54.5% experienced non-spesific symptoms, and 37.4% did not feel any symptoms. Most of the flight crew (68.7%) had sufficient EPT/TUC scores (3-4 minutes). Conclusion: Active flight crews feel symptoms of hypoxia and have sufficient TUC scores.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze occupational hazards and health risks among Paper Core factory workers, with a particular focus on occupational diseases, especially hypertension. The research is grounded in Government Regulation No. 88 of 2019 concerning occupational health and the relevance of work-related diseases to worker safety and productivity. The study employed the Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment (HIRA) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) approaches, with risk analysis based on the AS/NZS 4360:2004 standard. Data were collected through observation, interviews, blood pressure measurement, and source triangulation. The findings indicate that workers are exposed to multiple risk factors, including workplace temperatures exceeding 30°C, noise levels up to 103.7 dB, dust exposure, adhesive chemicals, and heavy physical workloads. Among the 74 workers examined, 20 were diagnosed with hypertension. The analysis suggests that prolonged exposure to heat and noise significantly contributes to hypertension risk, although lifestyle factors and individual health history also play a role. Furthermore, suboptimal production facility layout was found to increase ergonomic and occupational safety risks. The study concludes that hypertension can be classified as an occupational disease among Paper Core factory workers. Implementation of risk management, improvement of facility layout, consistent use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and routine application of JSA are recommended to reduce occupational hazards and enhance both worker safety and productivity.
