Abstract

This research wants to see how religious figures play a role in cases or control the actions of teenagers who are considered to violate the values ​​of decency, propriety and various kinds in the village of Onan Lama, Dairi Regency. The method used is qualitative research. The research location was carried out in Onan Lama Village, Dairi Regency, Sidikalang City. In this case, to obtain the data in question, researchers carried out observations, interviews and documentation. The techniques used in data analysis are data collection, data reduction, data presentation and drawing conclusions. The results of this research show that religious leaders carry out their role in preventing juvenile delinquency in Onan Lama Village through several activities such as: (1) religious activities (2) alcohol and drug education (3) discussions and collaboration with parents. Furthermore, Onan Lama Village religious leaders carry out social control to prevent juvenile delinquency by: (1) approaching individuals (2) participating in religious activities (3) religious practices

Abstract

This study examines the development and initiatives of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in Medan City from 2016 to 2023, highlighting its significant role in the region's social and religious dynamics. Employing historical research methods, including heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography, data were collected through observations, interviews, and documentation at the Muhammadiyah Regional Leadership (PDM) office. Findings reveal significant progress in Nasyiatul Aisyiyah's activities, with regular events despite challenges during the Covid-19 pandemic, which led to temporary disruptions. Nonetheless, the organization remained active in disaster relief efforts, fundraising, and mask distribution. Plans for 2022-2023 include resuming programs and introducing new initiatives such as parenting classes, disaster response, leadership training, international symposiums, PASHMINA, and TOT entrepreneurship. The study explores the contributions and growth trajectory of Nasyiatul Aisyiyah in fostering community welfare and religious education, employing qualitative methodologies, including interviews and organizational document analysis. The research identifies challenges such as resource limitations and sociopolitical constraints but highlights the organization's adaptive strategies and community-centric approach in overcoming obstacles and advancing its mission. This research contributes to a deeper understanding of the role of women’s organizations in regional development and offers insights into the potential for similar initiatives in other contexts.

Abstract

The purpose of this research is to describe the professional ethics of librarians in the library of Universitas Islam Negeri (UIN) Sumatera Utara in terms of an Islamic point of view and explain the form of professional ethics based on Islamic values applied by librarians at the Library of the State Islamic University of North Sumatra. The method of this research is used a descriptive research method with a qualitative approach. This research was used data collection techniques of observation, interviews, and documentation. The ethics of the librarian profession from an Islamic point of view are being fair to library visitors, cooperating and helping each other among colleague librarians, and being responsible for the mandate of the tasks carried out. Describe the implementation of librarian professional ethics in the library of the UIN Sumatera Utara in terms of an Islamic point of view. The forms of professional ethics applied by UIN Sumatera Utara’s librarians are ethics about recognizing users and paying attention, ethics being flexible and polite, and ethics about being communicative and being honest.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah: 1) Untuk mengetahui strategi guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IPS di SMA Swasta Darussalam Medan. 2) Untuk mengetahui faktor pendukung dan penghambat guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa kelas IPS di SMA Swasta Darussalam Medan. Metodologi penelitian menggunakan penelitian kualitatif dengan jenis deskriptif. Dalam penelitian ini para peneliti mengumpulkan data deskriptif yang diperoleh dari pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Informan dalam penelitian ini adalah Siswa kelas 11 IPS setelah penetapan jurusan IPS terutama yang tidak memilih jurusan IPS, Guru-guru IPS yang mengajar dikelas IPS dan Wakil kepala sekolah bidang kurikulum dan kesiswaan. Hasil penelitian strategi guru dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar dilakukan dengan cara merubah pandangan siswa bahwa belajar IPS menarik dan menyenangkan, mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang bervariasi, memperhatikan kondisi mental siswa, melibatkan siswa secara aktif, desain kelas yang dinamis, mendalami latar belakang siswa dan persoalan hidupnya, memberikan apresiasi/hadiah. Faktor pendukung dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa ada 2 yaitu faktor internal dan eksternal. Faktor internal berasal dari diri siswa itu sendiri dan faktor eksternal berasal dari orangtua, guru, teman sekelas dan lingkungan. Faktor penghambat dalam meningkatkan motivasi belajar siswa karena adanya rasa malas didalam diri yang siswa tidak ingin ubah, guru sebagai motivator tidak bisa melihat kondisi dan keadaan kelas, kurangnya pemahaman guru dalam mengembangkan strategi pembelajaran yang menarik untuk siswa.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui dampak penerapan model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD terhadap hasil belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran Mobilitas Sosial di kelas VIII MTs PAB 4 PATUMBAK II. Penelitian yang dilakukan adalah penelitian kuantitatif dengan menggunakan rancangan penelitian quasi eksperimen. Sampel penelitian ini adalah tiga puluh siswa kelas VIII-A yang mengikuti model pembelajaran kooperatif tipe STAD dan tiga puluh siswa kelas VIII-2 yang mengikuti model pembelajaran konvensional. Uji t sampel berpasangan menunjukkan bahwa rata-rata hasil belajar kelas eksperimen pada materi mobilitas sosial jauh lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelas kontrol. Setelah adopsi pembelajaran kooperatif STAD, kelas eksperimen mampu mencapai hasil belajar rata-rata yang lebih tinggi dibandingkan dengan kelas kontrol.Hasil uji t-sampel independen menunjukkan bahwa kelompok eksperimen memiliki skor rata-rata 78,67 dengan simpangan baku 7,871 poin. Dengan skor rata-rata 72,73 dan simpangan baku 5,994, kelompok kontrol mencatat skor rata-rata tertinggi. Jika dibandingkan dengan model pembelajaran tradisional, hal ini menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran kooperatif STAD menghasilkan peningkatan rata-rata hasil belajar siswa yang lebih besar daripada model pembelajaran konvensional.

Abstract

This article discusses the Public Relations (PR) strategies implemented by the Department of Communication and Informatics (Diskominfo) of Binjai City to enhance the positive image of the Binjai City Government. This study adopts a qualitative approach, analyzing primary data from interviews with the head of the news and audiovisual division and the IKP (Public Communication and Information) team members of Diskominfo Binjai, along with secondary data from related documents. The analysis reveals that Diskominfo Binjai has employed various PR strategies, including information campaigns, social media activities, public events, and collaboration with local mass media. It was also found that the use of information and communication technology (ICT) is an integral part of their PR strategy. This study highlights the importance of PR in building and maintaining a positive image of local government in the current digital era, particularly concerning sensitive issues.

Abstract

This study examines the Utilization of the Statue Building Museum as a Learning Resource for Batak Literature. The purpose of this study is as a medium to find out the usefulness of museums as a source of learning. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive method. The informants in this study are museum heads, academics, students/students. Data collection is carried out through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study show that the history of the establishment of the North Sumatra State Museum located on Jl. H.M. Joni No.51 Daoed Joesoef, Minister of Education and Culture, on April 19, 1982. However, President Ir. Soekarno laid the first stone, a pair of ceremonies, in 1954. Since then, the museum has also been called the Sculpture Building. The building of this museum is shaped like a traditional house of North Sumatra. The front roof is decorated with ornaments from the Batak Toba, Simalungun, Karo, Mandailing, Pakpak, and Nias tribes. The use of the collection at the North Sumatra State Museum as a source of learning about Batak Literature for researchers can be seen from the use of these historical sources as the main source and has the main goal, namely to improve previous research. The collections in the museum contribute greatly to research, so that many meanings are revealed about the study of Batak literature.

Abstract

Globalization and the development of information and communication technology (ICT) have brought significant changes in the world of education. However, in learning certain subjects such as Fiqh, there are still challenges in increasing student interest and understanding due to less varied teaching methods and limited attractive learning media. This study aims to develop learning media based on Android educational games that integrate the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) approach to increase student engagement and understanding in learning Fiqh. This research uses the Research and Development (R&D) method with the ADDIE development model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Data were collected through interviews, observations, and questionnaires to measure the effectiveness of the developed media. The analysis was conducted qualitatively and quantitatively to assess aspects of student engagement, concept understanding, and learning experience. The results showed that the Android-based educational game developed was able to increase students' learning motivation and help them understand Fiqh material better. The application of the PBL approach in this game allows students to engage in active problem solving, thus improving critical thinking and problem solving skills. In addition, the integration of the Technological Pedagogical Content Knowledge (TPACK) model in the design of learning media maximizes students' learning motivation.

Abstract

This study explores the inculcation of values and food security within the Turun Sawah tradition in Denai Lama Village, Pantai Labu District. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation. The findings indicate that the Turun Sawah tradition plays a crucial role in preserving local culture, maintaining food security, and enhancing the community’s economy through its agrotourism potential. As part of the agrarian heritage, this tradition not only reflects gratitude to God but also fosters values of solidarity, mutual cooperation (gotong royong), and cultural identity among younger generations. Despite significant challenges in engaging the younger generation—particularly in the face of globalization and shifting societal values—various creative approaches can be employed to ensure the sustainability of this tradition. Integrating traditional practices with modern technology, such as cultural festivals and agrotourism development, can enhance the interest of younger generations and the broader community. Furthermore, the Turun Sawah tradition significantly contributes to food security through crop diversification, supporting sustainable agriculture at the local level.

Abstract

This research will discuss how to use digital collections at the Willmar Bisnis Indonesia Polytechnic library located on Jalan Warakauri, Percut Sei Tuan District,DeliSerdangRegency,NorthSumatra.Inthemidstofthewidespreaduse of digital access today, libraries are also affected by the creation of digital collections by libraries as products for today's developments. The research uses qualitative methos and uses 3 ways as data sources, namely interviews, observation, and documentation. Thento determinethesourcesof this researchusingpurposivesampling,namelythesourcesaresoughtbasedonpeople who are considered to understand the object of research the most. The results of this study by interviewing informants can be concluded that users in the wilmar bisnis Indonesia polytechnic library have made good use of digital collections. Penelitian ini akan membahas bagaimana pemanfaatan koleksi digital di perpustakaan Politeknik Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia yang terletak di Jalan Warakauri, Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan, Kabupaten Deli Serdang, Sumatera Utara. Di tengah maraknya penggunaan akses digital saat ini, perpustakaan juga ikut terpengaruh dengan terciptanya koleksi digital oleh perpustakaan sebagai produk untuk perkembangan zaman sekarang ini. Penelitian menggunakan metode kualitatif dan menggunakan 3 cara sebagai sumber data yaitu wawancara, observasi, serta dokumentasi. Kemudian untuk penentuan narasumber dari penelitian ini dengan purposive sampling yang digunakan, yakni narasumber dicari berdasarkan orang yang dianggap paling mengerti tentang objek penelitian. Hasil dari penelitian ini dengan mewawancarai narasumber dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemustaka di perpustakaan Politeknik Wilmar Bisnis Indonesia sudah memanfaatkan koleksi digital dengan cukup baik.
