Abstract

Research Aim : This study aims to determine the pattern of management in the Surabaya City Government towards Surabaya city cleaning officers (street sweepers), known as yellow troops. Design/Method/Approach : Data were collected through interviews and observations. The informant was the person in charge of the yellow troop, namely the Garbage Cleaning Sub-Coordinator. Documentation data is used as secondary data to strengthen the data and support qualitative descriptive analysis. Research Finding : The author finds that financial rewards are not the only way in the management pattern carried out by the Surabaya city government for informal workers in the yellow troops. The management pattern developed by the Surabaya city government is to strengthen non-financial rewards for the yellow troops and supervision is carried out in stages so that appropriate and sustainable supervision is obtained. Theoretical contribution/Originality : OCB character research is generally carried out using quantitative research methods, not much is done with qualitative research methods, and is carried out in city and district cleaning workers as informal workers. Practitionel/Policy implication : The findings show that city and district governments in Indonesia need to understand in building and maintaining OCB character in informal workers, especially yellow troops or street sweepers by implementing appropriate and sustainable non-financial rewards and supervision. One of the non-financial rewards is the existence of a career path and punishment because of supervision. Research limitation : The research conducted was limited to the management of street sweepers in Surabaya city.

Abstract

The purpose of the program is to increase the capacity of Warung Nasi Bu Susi MSME actors through product derivative innovations as well as market and digital marketing strategies. Warung Nasi Bu Susi's business, which was pioneered in 2017, experienced a significant decrease in turnover after moving its location into a village area, so consumer access became limited. One of the potential opportunities that can develop is pecel chili sauce, but it has not been marketed professionally. The main problems of partners include three aspects, namely: (1) production that does not have standards and packaging, (2) marketing that is still conventional, has not made optimal use of digital media, and (3) limited business legality, including the absence of halal certification. The program implementation method is designed in a participatory, adaptive manner in a collaborative atmosphere, with stages including socialization, business mentoring and coaching, product innovation and packaging design training, introduction to digital marketing, sales and branding simulation, to assistance in managing business legality. The results of the activity show an increase in the capacity of partners in developing ready-to-sell chili sauce derivative products with packaging power, brand identity, and digital marketing strategies. Partners obtain the development of business legality, in the form of expanding NIB (Entrepreneurial Identification Number) and halal certification so that there is an increase in the market outside Keboan Hamlet and outside the city that is oriented towards business sustainability. Partners have also experienced an increase in the marketing turnover of sambel pecel from non-existent to 30%.

Abstract

The problem of waste management at the village level is a critical issue that directly impacts the environment, health, and economy of the community. Sukoreno Village, Prigen District, Pasuruan Regency, produces 2–2.5 tons of waste per day, mostly from households and home industries, but its management is still carried out conventionally without sorting. This condition causes environmental pollution and closes the opportunity to utilize waste as a resource. This community service activity aims to increase environmental awareness and literacy among residents, build local institutions in the form of a waste bank and 3R TPS, introduce appropriate technology, and encourage the creation of small waste-based business units towards an independent and sustainable village. The method used is Participatory Action Research (PAR) through five systematic stages: problem identification, socialization, core program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and strengthening sustainability. The results of the activity show increased community participation in waste sorting, the establishment of a waste bank and 3R TPS, the implementation of plastic shredding machines, as well as the development of composting businesses, maggot cultivation, and creative products from plastic waste. This program has successfully established a participatory, productive, and efficient waste management ecosystem, enabling it to be replicated in other villages as a model for integrated waste management based on a circular economy.
