Abstract

This research aims to explore the relationship between marketing mix, memorable tourism experience (ME), destination image, tourist satisfaction, and intention to return to the destinations of Oetune Beach, Oehala Waterfall, and Bu'at Recreation Park. The research method uses a quantitative approach by distributing questionnaires to a sample of tourists visiting the destination. The results of the analysis show that marketing mix, ME, and destination image have a significant effect on tourist satisfaction. Apart from that, destination image also has a direct influence on intention to visit again, while tourist satisfaction acts as a mediator between the marketing mix, ME, and destination image variables and intention to visit again. The practical implication of these findings is the need for holistic destination management, with a focus on improving the quality of tourism experiences and building a positive destination image through effective marketing strategies.

Abstract

International trade is a key component in enhancing welfare and economic growth, as well as generating foreign exchange needed for development. East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), with its significant potential in the oil and gas, as well as non-oil and gas sectors, has considerable export opportunities to Timor Leste. However, the effectiveness of NTT's exports is heavily influenced by various macroeconomic factors, such as exchange rates, per capita income, and government spending in both Indonesia and Timor Leste. The variation in resources and production capacity in NTT offers opportunities to meet Timor Leste's demand, but changes in macroeconomic conditions play a critical role in determining the competitiveness of NTT's export products. This study employs a quantitative approach with multiple linear regression analysis to examine the impact of macroeconomic variables on the demand for oil and gas, as well as non-oil and gas exports from NTT to Timor Leste. The sample used consists of annual time series data from 2021 to 2023, including the Rupiah exchange rate against the US Dollar, Timor Leste's per capita income, and government spending in Timor Leste. The results show that the exchange rate has a significant negative impact on export demand, while government spending has a positive effect. Timor Leste's per capita income does not significantly affect export demand. These findings are expected to contribute to policymakers in improving NTT's export competitiveness and volume, ultimately having a positive impact on the region's economic welfare.ipsum

Abstract

This study explores the interplay between packaging variety, perception of sustainable packaging, price, and consumer purchase intention regarding lontar packaging. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were gathered from an online survey of 153 environmentally conscious consumers in Kupang City, selected through convenience sampling. The analysis employed Structural Equation Modeling—Partial Least Squares (SEM-PLS). Key findings reveal that the perception of sustainable packaging significantly influences consumer purchase intention. Conversely, while packaging variety does not directly affect purchase intention, it impacts product pricing. Price is a mediator in the relationship between packaging variety and purchase intention. However, the perception of sustainable packaging does not mediate this relationship. The managerial implications emphasize the need for integrating sustainability perceptions into packaging design and developing pricing strategies that align with consumer preferences. Additionally, effective marketing strategies should leverage the mediating role of price to enhance product appeal. This research contributes to understanding market dynamics related to packaging and consumer behavior, particularly in the context of sustainability.

Abstract

Scavengers are a group of urban poor who work in the informal sector, with their main activity being the collection of used goods every day to sell in order to meet their living needs. This condition places the management of income and expenditure as a key factor in efforts to improve the welfare of scavenger households. The income earned by scavengers at the Alak Landfill includes cash as well as goods and services. From an economic perspective, cash income contributes to an increase in household spending budgets, while income in the form of goods and services helps reduce expenses, which indirectly expands their spending capacity. A deep understanding of the dynamics of the lives of scavenger households in Alak District is crucial in designing effective strategies to improve their income and welfare. Therefore, a comprehensive study is needed to identify the challenges faced by scavenger families and find practical solutions, so that it can serve as the foundation for the implementation of this service program at TPAS Alak, Kupang City. The service team at TPAS Alak held a socialization event related to financial management, focusing on two main aspects. First, providing financial education to scavengers to help them manage household income and expenses more efficiently. Second, providing access to financial counseling services that support scavengers in budgeting and overseeing various financial challenges. This program has a positive impact on the scavengers at the Alak Landfill Site, including improved welfare for them and their families, increased access to financial services, as well as enhanced economic independence and a better understanding of financial management.

Abstract

In the modern era, environmental issues have become a global concern due to the rising impacts of pollution and climate change. One solution is sustainable packaging to reduce waste and environmental damage. This study examines the relationship between environmental awareness, perceived environmental knowledge, perceived ease of use, and purchase intention, with trust in sustainable packaging as a mediating variable. The novelty lies in adding trust in sustainable packaging and utilizing local potential, namely lontar materials, as eco-friendly alternatives to recycled cloth, paper, and plastic. Using the Theory of Planned Behavior, a quantitative approach, and purposive sampling, the study collected 192 samples, with 170 valid responses. Results show that purchase intention is influenced by trust in sustainable packaging, environmental awareness, environmental knowledge, and ease of use. Trust is shaped by environmental awareness, environmental knowledge, and ease of use. Trust mediates the effect of environmental knowledge and ease of use on purchase intention but does not mediate the effect of environmental awareness. These findings are valuable for producers using lontar-based packaging, suggesting they target environmentally conscious consumers who value knowledge and usability.
