Abstract

The third trimester of a first pregnancy is a challenging period for a woman, during which various physical and psychological changes can trigger anxiety in anticipation of childbirth. These emotions are often mixed, ranging from happiness in welcoming the baby to concerns about the delivery process. Anxiety is a natural response to the body’s adaptation and the emotional demands experienced during pregnancy. Support from family, whether through attention, encouragement, or emotional presence, plays a crucial role in reducing anxiety levels among pregnant women. This study aims to empirically examine the relationship between family support and anxiety in primigravida women during the third trimester. The research employed a non-experimental approach with a correlational design using a Cross-Sectional method. The results indicate that stronger family support is associated with lower levels of anxiety among primigravida women, highlighting the essential role of family in maintaining psychological well-being throughout pregnancy.

Abstract

Sleep is a fundamental physiological need that supports adolescents’ cognitive, emotional, and physical development. However, poor sleep quality remains common among adolescents and may be influenced by biological factors such as chronotype. This study aimed to analyze the relationship between chronotype and sleep quality among adolescents at SMA Negeri 8 Jambi City. A quantitative cross-sectional design was used with 103 students selected through stratified random sampling. Chronotype was measured using the Morningness–Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ), while sleep quality was assessed using the Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI). Data were analyzed using univariate and Chi-square tests. The results showed that most respondents had an intermediate chronotype (54.4%) and poor sleep quality (61.2%). Statistical analysis indicated a significant relationship between chronotype and sleep quality (p = 0.020; Cramer’s V = 0.276). Adolescents with evening chronotype tended to experience poorer sleep quality compared with those with morning chronotype.

Abstract

Abstract

This study examined the effect of structured diabetic foot exercise on Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) values among patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) at Simpang Kawat Public Health Center, Indonesia. A quasi-experimental one-group pretest–posttest design was applied in volving 35 participants selected through purposive sampling. Participants completed two supervised diabetic foot exercise sessions over one week. ABI measurements were performed before and after the intervention using a calibrated vascular Doppler under standardized conditions. Data were analyzed using paired-sample t-tests, and effect sizes were calculated using Cohen’s d. The results showed a significant increase in mean ABI values from 0.89 ± 0.06 to 0.94 ± 0.05 after the intervention (p < 0.001). Large effect sizes were identified in both the right and left lower extremities (d = 1.39 and d = 1.28), indicating meaningful clinical improvement in peripheral circulation. These findings suggest that structured diabetic foot exercise may support circulation focused diabetes self-management and has potential to be implemented as a practical non-pharmacological intervention in primary-care settings. However, the absence of a control group and short intervention period remain important study limitations.
