Abstract

This study analyzes the impact of exports, inflation, investment, and exchange rates on Indonesia's Gross Domestic Product (GDP) from 1986 to 2022 using the Error Correction Model (ECM). This method examines both long-term and short-term effects. The results show that exports have a positive but insignificant impact on long-term economic growth, while in the short term, the impact is negative and insignificant. Inflation has a significantly negative effect on economic growth in both the short and long terms. Investment has a positive and significant effect on growth in both periods. Exchange rates have a significant negative effect on long-term economic growth, while in the short term, they have a significant negative impact at the 10% significance level. The contribution of this study lies in expanding the understanding of Indonesia's macroeconomic dynamics through a comprehensive analysis over a 36-year period. It provides valuable insights for economic policymakers, recommending stabilizing inflation, increasing investment, and maintaining exchange rate stability. The empirical findings of this study are expected to help formulate more effective economic policies to promote growth in Indonesia. A limitation of this research is the lack of variables addressing external factors, including global fiscal and monetary policies.

Abstract

Data play an important role in mapping problems, potentials, and long-term plans of an institution, including Islamic boarding schools. This Community Service (PKM) activity aims to socialize the importance of computer-based data management through the use of Microsoft Excel, Google Forms, and Bitly. This community service activity was carried out at the Darul Ilmi Islamic boarding school, Meteseh Village, Semarang. Community service was conducted through three approaches: (i) field observation, (ii) interactive socialization, and (iii) mentoring/training. Field observations were applied to collect problems that existed at the location and potential that could be developed. Socialization was carried out by providing material on "the importance of computer-based data management" to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the use of student data. Interactive socialization was employed directly to provide space for all participants to express their opinions. The results of this PKM were three things: (i) mentoring the use of M.S. Excel for data management; (ii) training in the use of Google Forms to collect student data according to certain objectives, for example, biodata and future career plans; and (iii) educating the application of Bit.ly as a device to shorten and manage URLs.

Abstract

This research investigates the relationship between the Islamic Human Development Index (I-HDI), Unemployment, Population Growth, and their impact on Poverty in G20 countries from 2010 to 2021. A purposive sampling method was used to select eight countries: the United States, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Italy, Germany, Canada, France, and Turkey. The I-HDI was calculated using five Maqasid Shariah indicators. Unemployment was measured by the national unemployment rate, and Population Growth was represented by the annual population growth rate. A total of 384 panel data points were analyzed using the Fixed Effect Model (FEM) regression technique. The findings reveal a robust negative relationship between I-HDI and the Poverty Rate, indicating that improvements in human development are key drivers in alleviating poverty. In contrast, Unemployment shows a significant positive association with the Poverty Rate, meaning that an increase in unemployment leads to a rise in poverty levels. However, Population Growth does not exhibit a significant effect on the Poverty Rate, suggesting that demographic changes alone are not adequate to explain fluctuations in poverty across the G20 countries. These results offer valuable insights for policymakers focused on enhancing human development and addressing unemployment to effectively combat poverty.

Abstract

Faktor kemiskinan bersifat multidimensi. Abstract

The development of Islamic banking assets in OIC countries requires performance evaluation, but conventional financial ratios are still used. This study aims to explore the relationship between Good Corporate Governance variables (Board of Commissioners, Independent Commissioners, Sharia Supervisory Board, and Audit Committee) and Maqaṣid-based Sharia banking performance. Using the Maqaṣid-Based Performance Evaluation Model (MPEM), data from 22 Islamic banks in 7 OIC countries (2018-2022) with a fixed securities model were analyzed. The findings indicate that the Board of Commissioners and Independent Commissioners influence Maqaṣid-based performance, whereas the Sharia Supervisory Board and Audit Committee do not have a significant impact. The majority of banks have a low Maqaṣid performance index, indicating a reliance on conventional systems despite Sharia compliance.
