Abstract

Office ergonomics talk about how to make the work area in the office suitable for people who work and support the work activities they do. Meanwhile, 5S (Seiri, Seiton, Seiso, Seiketsu, and Shitsuke) is a system that makes work activities better and of higher quality. If these two principles are applied properly to an office activity, it will certainly increase the efficiency and effectiveness of the work being carried out. The introduction of the two principles was carried out for Kelurahan X employees. Information was provided through an interactive webinar format through the Zoom Meeting platform. The purpose of this activity is to provide an understanding of the importance of Ergonomics in the office and the importance of implementing 5S to the employees of the X Village office. In the early stages of implementation, information is provided through the lecture method and collects data related to the knowledge that participants currently have using a questionnaire using Google Form, then in the next stage, participants are asked to actively participate in the application of the material that has been presented previously. In the final results of data collection, it was proven that participants had understood the benefits of applying these principles by increasing the percentage of participants' understanding obtained from the final questionnaire

Abstract

UMKM (micro, small and medium enterprises) in Indonesia are growing in a better direction. The government also supports the development of UMKM to recover Indonesia’s economy since the Covid-19 Pandemic. Community Service activities are carried out to provide direction and suggestions for problems experienced by Seblak Basreng business actors. The method used is descriptive research with a qualitative approach. Data collection was carried out by conducting semi-structured interviews, observation, and social media analysis used by Seblak Basreng Teh Dini. The findings from the activities that have been carried out are that the people of Bandung do not know about Seblak Basreng Teh Early, locations that are difficult for new customers to find, product photos on pages on Grab Food and Gofood are less attractive, and do not yet have a cashless payment method. The proposal that has been implemented is to expand customers for Seblak Basreng Teh Early, it is necessary to carry out promotions to promote their wares using Instagram, Facebook, and Tiktok; make banners and road signs; improvement of product photos on Grab Food and Gofood pages; and making QRis. The recommendation that can be conveyed is the continuation of the mentoring program for other business actors so that they can implement and manage digital media optimally.

Abstract

Abstract

Cycling has health benefits, but factors such as timing and music can affect performance and fatigue levels. There is still debate about the optimal time for cycling and the effects of music on endurance and perceived fatigue. In addition, the physiological responses of men and women to cycling have not been studied. This study used four indoor cycling scenarios, namely: (1) morning–without music, (2) morning–with music, (3) afternoon–with music, and (4) afternoon–without music. The objectives of this study were to analyze the effects of time and music on physiological responses, evaluate differences in fatigue between men and women, and assess the correlation between energy (Ecost) and heart rate while cycling. The parameters observed included heart rate, blood pressure, fatigue level (IFRC), and heart rate variability (%CVL). The results showed that the four scenarios did not produce significantdifferences in heart rate, blood pressure, route completion time, or fatigue levels. Blood pressure after activity tended to be higher in men, while heart rate was higher in women. The %CVL classification showed that most respondents were in the “non-urgent improvement” category (women 57.14%; men 78.57%). IFRC scores also showed that most respondents were at a moderate level of fatigue. Spearman's rank test confirmed a very strong correlation between Ecost and heart rate in all scenarios, both in men and women. These findings provide an overview of physiological responses and fatigue in indoor cycling under different time and music conditions.

Abstract

Optimal laundry room design is essential for efficiency and comfort in washing, drying and ironing clothes. This research identifies people's need for a functional and comfortable laundry room, along with increasingly busy lifestyles. Non-ergonomic designs can reduce efficiency and comfort. Therefore, this research aims to provide a design solution that suits the preferences of users in Indonesia. A total of  123 respondents participated in the survey, of which 100 met the inclusion criteria through purposive sampling. The design thinking and jobs-to-be-done approaches were applied to explore an in-depth understanding of user needs. The results show that all respondents (100%) agreed that the proposed laundry room design is comfortable, functional, and ergonomically suitable, particularly in the height arrangement of the washing machine, accessibility of the drying area, and ironing layout. Dry room integration was also identified as a significant need. Based on the analysis, the recommended minimum size for an ergonomic laundry room is 220 cm x 300 cm, which supports efficient workflow and user comfort. This study emphasizes the importance of a user centered and ergonomic approach in residential space design to enhance daily comfort and productivity.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the efficiency and functionality of the public kitchen layout in ST Village by integrating the design thinking method with the work triangle concept. Design thinking was applied to explore user needs and guide solution development through a user-centered, iterative process. The work triangle concept was used to assess movement efficiency across three primary kitchen zones: storage, washing and preparation, and cooking and serving. User needs were identified through interviews and observations, which led to the creation of two layout alternatives. The work triangle analysis evaluated movement efficiency across these zones. A concept scoring method assessed the alternatives based on space efficiency, ease of movement, occupational safety and health, and process flow. Alternative 1 emerged as the optimal design, scoring 5, compared to 7 for Alternative 2, with a reduced work triangle perimeter of 540.98 cm. The design improved accessibility, posture, and task coordination while minimizing unnecessary movements. Additional improvements included optimized lighting, achieving 500 lux with two 36-watt luminaires, and better ventilation. User feedback confirmed increased comfort, safety, and efficiency. This study demonstrates how user-centered design and ergonomic principles can optimize shared kitchen spaces in rural communities, addressing gaps in research on private or commercial kitchens.
