The Sumatran Striped Rabbit (Nesolagus netscheri ) is  a naturally rare, which is a protected animal based on Government Regulation Number 7 of 1999 and renewal of Permen LHK No. P.106 which are categorized as Data Deficient  by the IUCN (International Union of Conservation of Nature) since 2019. Samples were obtained from Pagar Alam, South Sumatra. Most commonly found at elevations  above 600 m in montane and sub-montane primary habitat. Molecular genetic characterization of sumatran striped rabbit is to know genetic information and genetic identification of N. netscheri. Primers 12S rRNA were used in this study to characterize Sumatran striped rabbit. A 1 band were detected ranged from 900 to 1000 bp. Molecular markers represent reliable tools which may have a great impact in rabbit breeding and genetic improvement of rabbits. Molecular markers on Nesolagus netscheri is expected to tools in the identification of Sumatran striped rabbits from South Sumatra.

Sumatran Elephants (Elephas maximus sumatranus) is one of the endemic Sumatran fauna that is protected by Indonesia Law. The Remnant Forest of Acacia District Penyabungan in the landscape of Padang Sugihan is one of the elephant’s habitats in South Sumatra. Habitat degradation and fragmentation, poaching and conflicts become the major threats for the elephant population. Genetic study is one of the efforts to establish a conservation policy. It is necessary to test the quantitative and qualitative of DNA, at the extractions stage from fecal samples, in order to get the standard results on DNA concentration which will be analyzed later. The method used is through direct observation as the initial survey to determine the sampling location. Fecal samples were preserved in absolute ethanol at -20°C.  The extraction process was carried out using the Quick-DNATM Fecal/Soil Microbe Miniprep Kit. Samples were tested quantitatively using a Nanodrop Thermo Scientific, with the expectation that the concentration results were considered to be 1.6-1.8 and continued with the qualitative test of DNA through electrophoresis gel agarose and UV Transilluminator. Of the 20 samples, only 12 samples showed positive results (there were DNA bands). The results of this quantitative and qualitative test could be used to determine a viable sample to be used as a product in the genetic analysis stage of Sumatran Elephants in the Remnant Forest of Acacia South Sumatra.

Salt or sodium chloride (NaCl) is an additive to give food a salty taste. The use of salt in everyday life is difficult to avoid. Salt has both good and bad effects on the body. The electrolyte content of salt can help launch metabolism in the body, whereas if the body contains too much salt it will cause heart attacks and hypertension. The dose of salt consumption that has been set by the government is 5g/day. This study was conducted to examine the effect of consuming excessive sodium chloride (NaCl) on the ability to smell and to what extent it damages cells in the hippocampus of mice (Mus musculus). The method of this study was CRD (completely randomized design) with 6 replications, 1 group control and 3 repetitions induced by sodium chloride (NaCl) is 260mg/gBB (P1), 520mg/gBB (P2), and 780mg/gBB (P3). The parameters of this study are neurosensory coordination in the form of olfactory response of mice (Mus musculus) to ammonia and cell disruption in the hippocampus (DG & CA) which were observed by histological preparations of Hematoxylin eosin (HE) staining. The results of this study indicate the presence of olfactory disorders in mice (Mus musculus) and cell death in the hippocampus also increased due to excessive sodium chloride (NaCl) induction. The more salt is consumed in daily life, it will disrupt the cells in the hippocampus.

Peronema canescens, often known as sungkai, is widely used and can be found all around Indonesia. The public believes that the leaves may reduce fever and strengthen the immune system. However, the effectiveness of sungkai fruit has not been thoroughly investigated. In this research, we looked at endophytic fungus extracts from sungkai fruit’s that have antioxidant and antibacterial properties. The study’s results will serve as the foundation for further investigation into the development of potential natural chemicals with antioxidant and antibacterial properties. Morphologically, the endophytic fungi isolated from sungkai fruit were identified. The antioxidant and antibacterial properties of endophytic fungal extracts were studied using the DPPH technique and the paper disk diffusion method. By employing molecular identification and column chromatography to separate the active compounds, the most likely endophytic fungal isolates were found based on the results of the bioactivity tests. Using 1D NMR spectroscopic methods, the chemical’s structure was determined, and the results were compared to NMR data for the same compound published in the literature. Fruit of sungkai had 8 strains of endophytic fungus (RBH1-RBH8). Strong antibacterial and very strong antioxidant activity were shown by the RBH5 isolate (IC50 < 20 μg/mL). Pythium periplocum was determined to be the RBH5 isolate based on molecular testing. Pure chemical compound extracted from RBH5 isolates shown highly potent and potent antibacterial and antioxidant effects. The chemical compound was identified by spectroscopy as 3-hydroxy-4(hydroxy(4-hydroxyphenyl)methyl)-γ-butyrolactone. Endophytic fungi extracts have various biological and pharmacological activities as natural antioxidants which have the potential to be developed in the pharmaceutical. Drugs made from natural substances frequently work best when they are present in large quantities. This may result in unfavorable side effects from using more of one substance at a time. This limitation can be overcome by using a combination of the extracts/pure compounds that allow synergistic interactions with strong antioxidant properties at fairly low concentrations. The purpose of this research was to determine the combined effect of endophytic fungi extracts and its pure compounds on their antioxidant activity. This research was initiated by rejuvenating eight selected endophytic fungal isolates from Sungkai leaves and morphological characterization was carried out. Each fungus was cultivated in PDB medium for 4 weeks under statistical conditions. Ethyl acetate was used to extract the endophytic fungi’s liquid culture, which was then evaporated. Each endophytic fungal extract (PD1-PD8) and their five pure compounds were tested for antioxidant activity by the DPPH method. Then a combination of two and three extracts was carried out with a ratio of 1:1. The results show that the interaction of the mixture of endophytic fungi extracts and their pure compounds can be classified as synergistic (combined effect of the extracts > individual effects), additive (combined effect of the extracts = individual effect), and nothing is antagonistic (combined effect of the extracts < individual effects). The best combination in this study was PD4+PD5+PD6 (1:1:1) which could be used as a formula for further research into in vivo immunostimulant tests. Another conclusion from this research is that the pure compounds contained in the extracts have lower antioxidant activity than the extracts and do not have a synergistic effect on the combination.

Endophytic fungi coexist without harms in the host in some parts or all parts of its lifecycle. Endophytic fungi excrete specialized bioactive compounds beneficial for of its host; the compound itself can be different from what can be found on their host. Endophytic fungi are capable to excrete biologically significant secondary metabolites acting as antidiabetic, antioxidant, antimicrobial, and cytostatic agents. Endophytic fungi existence are common across different plants; including Syzygium zeylanicum that can be found in Indonesia. This study aims to isolate endophytic fungi found in leaves of Syzygium zeylanicum, L., to elucidate their characterized morphologically, and to examine its antimicrobial and antioxidant properties in addition to their chemical structures. Characterization of endophytic fungi was conducted by their macroscopic and microscopic features, followed by molecular characterization of highly bioactive metabolites. Antimicrobial activities were measured by disc diffusion method. Antioxidant properties were measured with DPPH. Secondary metabolites were chromatographically isolated and identified with spectroscopy techniques (NMR ID and 2D). Four endophytic fungi isolates were obtained: Penicillium citrinum (SZ1), Colletotrichum lindemuthianum (SZ2), Aspergillus nidulan (SZ3), Scopulariopsis asperula (SZ4). Penicillium citrinum (SZ1) showed antimicrobial activities against four different bacteria (71.3% against E. coli; 74.1% against S. aureus; 76.2% against S. typhi; and dan76.9% against B. subtilis). Antioxidant activity ini all ekstrak of endophytic fungi showed very activity (IC50 SZ3 extract = 3.85 µg/mL). Potential endophytic fungi SZ1 was molecularly identified as Penicillium citrinum. Extracts from SZ1 fungi contains bioactive 4-hydroxy-2-(4-hydroxyphenyl)-ɣ-butyrolactone-3-yl) methyl acetate. The newly obtained substance could be developed into antimicrobial and antioxidant agents in further studies.

Regional property (BMD) is very important for government operations, especially in terms of providing services to the community. The government must re-examine the management of regional property assets to ensure that they are in accordance with applicable laws and regulations and have good financial reports. This study aims to evaluate the use of the regional property management system in the financial statements of the health department of Musi Banyuasin Regency. This study was designed as an analytic survey with a cross-sectional design. This study involved all employees in the health sector. The results showed that there was a relationship between knowledge, attitude, information technology, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and supervision on the financial statements of the Health Office of Musi Banyuasin Regency. In addition, the information technology variable is the most dominant variable on financial reports. Finally, this study suggests that the Health Office should provide complete facilities and infrastructure, including SOPs and supporting information technology, and provide training to staff.
