Abstract

Curiosity is a form of character education that must be improved for students in order to achieve life values to continue to be developed in one's personality, so that it becomes a habit in the behavior of students' daily lives. The results of pre-observations conducted on class VI students at SD Supriyadi Semarang showed that students' curiosity was not good with the following indicators: (1) students who actively asked were the same person, (2) there were some students who were not actively looking for good answers independent and group assignments (3) students are not active in group discussions, (4) students are less enthusiastic about the learning process, (5) students do assignments at will. The results of these pre-observations led the researcher to make an analysis of Curiosity in Grade VI students at SD Supriyadi which aims to find out the extent of students' curiosity in thematic learning theme 5 about Entrepreneurship. This study used a descriptive qualitative method with data collection techniques using the results of observations, interviews and questionnaires for students and then drawing conclusions. The results of this study indicate that the value of the curiosity character of class VI students at SD Supriyadi Semarang on theme 5 shows quite well. This can be seen from the most prominent indicator is the indicator of attention to the observed object which reaches a percentage of 59.4% while for the less prominent indicator in this study is the indicator asking about the material being studied which reaches a percentage of 28.1%.

Abstract

Critical thinking is one of the important competencies in the twenty-first century that should be acquired. Therefore, there is a need to facilitate the students with the teaching approach and learning model that could improve this skill. One of the learning approaches that provide the students with the opportunity to think creatively is STEM-PjBL. Therefore, the purpose of the study is to describe the application of STEM-PjBL able to increase the critical thinking skills of the student. The SLR or Systematic Literature Review method was chosen to present a comprehensive and balanced summary of primary research results. The literature review was conducted through Google Scholar, Crossref, and Scopus. From 100 works of literature, 15 articles showed that PjBL STEM learning was able to improve critical thinking skills. This study examined 15 articles that were analyzed based on research methods, and the findings revealed that the application of STEM-PjBL could enhance the critical thinking skills of the student with the literature review method. Based on the existing data collection, it is analyzed through case studies that are the subject of discussion. The findings of the study revealed that: 1) the use of STEM-PjBL had a positive and significant impact on the critical thinking skills of students in each educational unit, including primary school, secondary schools, and high school; 2) the use of STEM-PjBL can help students improve their mathematical critical thinking skills; 3)  interpretation, analysis, inference, evaluation, explanation, and self-regulation are among the indicators recommended for use as a reference for students' mathematical critical thinking skills.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the problem-solving abilities of female students with moderate cognitive levels in function relations. The subjects of this study were students in grade 8 of junior high school who were taken purposively. Two female students with moderate cognitive levels were obtained. Data collection techniques using written methods and interviews. The data analysis technique uses three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusions drawing. Checking the validity of the data using the triangulation method by comparing the written test data and interviews. In this study, management and data analysis used the NVivo software. This study shows that female students with a moderate cognitive level can carry out systematic problem-solving procedures, including understanding problems, planning, implementing plans, and checking back properly. However, these students have not been able to solve the problem correctly.

Abstract

Pelatihan Media Pembelajaran dan Kecerdasan Buatan (AI) bagi guru matematika di MGMP Matematika SMA Kabupaten Demak bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi dan kinerja guru dalam proses pembelajaran. Melalui pemanfaatan teknologi terkini. Pelatihan ini mengedukasi guru tentang penggunaan media pembelajaran interaktif dan aplikasi AI yang dapat membantu dalam merancang strategi pengajaran yang lebih efektif dan menarik. Melalui sesi praktik dan diskusi praktik mengenai cara pembuatan media pembelajaran matematika berbasis ChatGPT dan Gamma-App, Wolframe Mathematica, Canva, dan Class Point guru dapat mengimplementasikan pengetahuan yang diperoleh sehingga meningkatkan kualitas pendidikan matematika di Kabupaten Demak. Berdasarkan hasil monitoring dan evaluasi, kepuasan guru yang mengikuti pendampingan pelatihan media pembelajaran dan AI yang dilakukan oleh Tim pengabdi melalui evaluasi yang diberikan dengan google form yaitu sebesar 53,6% menyatakan sangat puas dan 46, 4% menyatakan puas. Dari hasil evaluasi tersebut menunjukkan peserta sangat baik dalam mengikuti kegiatan pelatihan dan merasakan kebermanfaat dari AI untuk mendukung dalam proses pembelajaran.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi penerapan dan keefektifan penggunaan media Earthquake Simulator dalam pembelajaran IPAS pada siswa kelas V di SDN Gayamsari 02 Kota Semarang. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain pre-eksperimen dengan one group pretest-posttest. Subjek penelitian adalah 30 siswa kelas V. Teknik pengumpulan data meliputi observasi, tes, dan dokumentasi. Data yang diperoleh dianalisis melalui uji normalitas dan homogenitas, yang menunjukkan distribusi data normal, diikuti dengan uji t untuk uji hipotesis. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa media Earthquake Simulator memiliki pengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan hasil belajar siswa. Sebelum menggunakan media ini, siswa kesulitan memahami proses terjadinya gempa bumi, namun setelah menggunakan Earthquake Simulator, pemahaman mereka meningkat. Hasil uji t menunjukkan nilai signifikansi (p-value) sebesar 0,000, yang lebih kecil dari 0,05, mengindikasikan adanya perbedaan signifikan antara hasil pretest dan posttest. Secara keseluruhan, penggunaan Earthquake Simulator terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan hasil belajar IPAS siswa kelas V SDN Gayamsari 02 Kota Semarang.

Abstract

This research aims to analyze the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model with Wordwall media in fifth grade Natural and Social Sciences subjects at SDN Mlatiharjo 02. This research is qualitative research with a descriptive approach. Data collection was carried out through observation, interviews and documentation. Data analysis uses an interactive model which includes data reduction, data presentation, and drawing conclusions. The results of research conducted on 26 fifth grade students showed that the implementation of the PBL model with Wordwall media in fifth grade natural and social science subjects at SDN Mlatiharjo 02 had been implemented well. The teacher has implemented the stages of the PBL model, namely orienting students to problems, organizing students to learn, guiding individual and group investigations, developing and presenting work results, and analyzing and evaluating the problem solving process. Wordwall media has also been used effectively to visualize problems, present questions, and help students understand learning material. The application of the PBL model with Wordwall media can increase student activity and learning outcomes in fifth grade natural and social science subjects at SDN Mlatiharjo 02.

Abstract

This study aims to identify how the process of critical thinking of prospective teachers in solving mathematical problems in the Department of Mathematics Education, Faculty of Science and Technology, Walisongo State Islamic University, is viewed from a qualitative learning style. The purposive sampling method was used to determine six prospective teachers as research subjects. Each visual, auditory, and kinesthetic learning style is represented by 2 subjects. The auxiliary instruments in this study consisted of a learning style questionnaire, a critical thinking ability test, and an interview guide. Critical thinking indicators were developed through consideration of the main elements of FRISCO, the level of cognitive thinking according to Bloom and the Steps of Problem Solving According to John Dewey. Data processing through the stages of data collection, data reduction, and data verification with the triangulation method. The results of the study show that auditory and kinesthetic learning styles have lower critical thinking process characteristics than visual learning styles in solving math problems. From the interview process it was revealed that the ability to argue based on valid and logical facts, all types of learning styles is still quite low. However, all three have strong potential to develop critical thinking skills through stimulation from educators.

Abstract

The "Implementation of Numeracy in Mathematics Learning" training was designed for members of the Mathematics MGMP with the aim of strengthening skills in applying numeracy concepts in the learning process. This training introduces various practical methods for integrating numeracy in mathematics learning, including the application of numeracy in the STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) curriculum. Technology is also introduced in this training, with the use of software such as Wolfram Mathematica. This software provides sophisticated tools for data visualization and manipulation, which can enrich the mathematics learning experience interactively and deeply (Wolfram, 2020). In addition, this training discusses effective numeracy assessment methods to measure student understanding and progress, such as practical assignments, tests, and constructive feedback (Shute, 2008). During the training, participants discuss challenges and solutions in implementing numeracy, as well as sharing best practices and experiences between participants (Sowder, 2007). Group activities are also carried out to design and test numeracy-based lesson plans, allowing participants to apply the concepts learned in real learning situations (Tharp & Gallimore, 1988). The purpose of this training is to improve the effectiveness of mathematics teaching, support the development of students' numeracy, and facilitate the application of numeracy in daily learning. The Community Partnership Program (PKM) focuses on two main activities: first, providing training to teachers on the application of numeracy in learning, and second, training teachers to design learning tools that integrate numeracy. Thus, this training is expected to optimize mathematics teaching and strengthen students' numeracy skills through an approach based on interactive teaching, technology, and effective assessment.

Abstract

Pelatihan "Implementasi Numerasi pada Pembelajaran Matematika" dirancang untuk anggota MGMP Matematika dengan tujuan memperkuat keterampilan dalam menerapkan konsep numerasi dalam proses pembelajaran. Pelatihan ini memperkenalkan berbagai metode praktis untuk mengintegrasikan numerasi dalam pembelajaran matematika, termasuk penerapan numerasi dalam kurikulum STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). Teknologi juga diperkenalkan dalam pelatihan ini, dengan penggunaan perangkat lunak seperti Wolfram Mathematica. Software ini menyediakan alat canggih untuk visualisasi dan manipulasi data, yang dapat memperkaya pengalaman belajar matematika secara interaktif dan mendalam. Selain itu, pelatihan ini membahas metode asesmen numerasi yang efektif untuk mengukur pemahaman dan kemajuan siswa, seperti tugas praktis, tes, dan umpan balik konstruktif. Selama pelatihan, peserta berdiskusi mengenai tantangan dan solusi dalam implementasi numerasi, serta berbagi praktik terbaik dan pengalaman antar peserta. Kegiatan kelompok juga dilaksanakan untuk merancang dan menguji rencana pelajaran berbasis numerasi, memungkinkan peserta untuk menerapkan konsep yang dipelajari dalam situasi pembelajaran nyata. Tujuan dari pelatihan ini adalah untuk meningkatkan efektivitas pengajaran matematika, mendukung perkembangan numerasi siswa, dan memfasilitasi penerapan numerasi dalam pembelajaran sehari-hari. Program Kemitraan Masyarakat (PKM) ini berfokus pada dua kegiatan utama: pertama, memberikan pelatihan kepada guru mengenai penerapan numerasi dalam pembelajaran, dan kedua, melatih guru untuk merancang perangkat pembelajaran yang mengintegrasikan numerasi. Dengan demikian, pelatihan ini diharapkan dapat mengoptimalkan pengajaran matematika dan memperkuat kemampuan numerasi siswa melalui pendekatan yang berbasis pada pengajaran interaktif, teknologi, serta asesmen yang efektif.

Abstract

The purpose of this research in general is to develop statistics teaching materials in the form of e-modules by applying Microsoft excel in it. The implementation of the use of statistics teaching materials in lectures is still not optimal. This research offers solutions for the use of teaching materials in the form of e-books that are easy to understand in statistics courses to increase student learning independence. This activity emphasizes more on measuring the achievement of e-modules clearly in their application and implementation in learning. This research uses  the Borg & Gall research and development pattern method  with 10 steps. The results showed that the assessment of media aspects in the form of E-books by media expert validators covering general aspects, aspects of material substance, aspects of language feasibility, and aspects of graphic feasibility obtained a percentage of 88.7% were in very good qualifications. Assessment on the material aspect found that the percentage of product feasibility of 95% was in very good qualification. From the assessment of media experts and material experts, the products in this study are feasible or valid to use. In the readability test by students, the average percentage is 80.6%, meaning that it is very easy to understand.
