Abstract

The dimensional accuracy of the workpiece might be impacted by geometric variations that machines frequently experience. The geometric shape of the workpiece as a result of the machining process can be used to quantify machine quality and can take the form of cylindricality, smoothness, roundness, and other geometric shapes. The results of the workpiece surface's cylindricality will depend on machining parameters such engine rotation, feed speed, and feed depth. For the design of the research experiment and the data analysis, this study employs the Box Behnken Design in Response Surface Method that is figuring out the trial variation using 3 stages. The specimen used was ST 42 steel, and a DNMG 150404 carbide insert tool was used on a Pinacho L-1/260 conventional lathe to perform a total of 15 experimental modifications on the specimen. Furthermore, the cylindricity test was carried out using a dial indicator. The research results on the effect of parameters on surface cylindricity, namely engine speed with a Pvalue of 0.068, depth of feed with a Pvalue of 0.784, and feed speed with a Pvalue of 0.839, the three parameters were declared not to have a significant effect. The engine rotation parameter provides a contribution effect of 26.87%, the depth of feed is 0.52% and the feed speed is 0.28%.

Abstract

The lifting process is needed, among other things, to move goods and maintain the position of the equipment. In this lifting process, spreader bars are needed because the size of the equipment being lifted is too large, but the sling must not hit the equipment. This spreader bar will work with high intensity due to repeated or cyclical load treatment, so fatigue in the structure is likely to occur. Thus, it is necessary to analyze the strength of the structure and estimate the life of the spreader bar. The design method used is the Ulrich method, which involves creating three design concepts from which the best design will be selected according to the selection criteria. Modeling is done with Fusion 360 software, and strength and fatigue life analysis is done using ANSYS Workbench 2023 R1 software with the aim of knowing the amount of stress from the loading received by the structure. The strength analysis of the spreader bar structure in the selected design concept obtained a maximum stress value of 154.71 MPa; this value is still at a safe limit because it is below the maximum allowable stress value of 166.667 MPa, and the safety factor obtained is 5.6026. This value is safe because it is greater than 1. The total estimated material cost required for this spreader bar is IDR 21,866,910.67.

Abstract

A large material removal rate and minimal surface rigidity are the desired objectives of this study with the right process parameters to obtain a large material response rate and a minimum surface hardness. The parameters used are spindle speed, feed rate and depth of cut. The experimental design is based on the response surface methodology of a box behnken design. The trials were randomized in three replications to produce a more optimal result. The results of the research showed that the influence of the parameter on the material removal rate is spindle speed with 0.442, feed rate with 0,000 and depth of cut with 0,000. parameter feed rate and deep of cut are stated to be significantly influenced. On the other hand, the influence of the parameter on the surface rigidity is that spindle speed with a of 0.017, feed rate with a of 0,000 and depth of cut has a of 0.074. Furthermore, the combination of the most optimal parameters for the material response variable removal rate and surface rigidity is the spindle speed of 2006 RPM, the feed rate of 252 mm/min and the depth of cut of 0.1965 mm.

Abstract

CNC TruLaser Tube 5000 TRUMPF machine is used to perform cutting process in PT. Dempo Laser Metalindo. The quality of the cut product produced is required to have minimum roughness value, but in every cut result especially on Square Pipe St 37 material there is cutting defect. Cutting defect in the product result is surface roughness. Surface roughness can affect the cutting rate on the material, the solution to get cutting quality with minimal roughness and maximum cutting rate is to analyze the parameters that affect the response by optimizing the parameters. The parameter variables to be optimized are focus point, cutting gas pressure, nozzle distance, and laser power. This study uses Square Pipe St 37 material and the experimental design uses Taguchi Method combined with Grey Relational Analysis using orthogonal matrix L9 (34). From the results of the research that has been conducted, it was obtained that the most optimal combination of parameters for cutting rate and surface roughness is the focal point at level 2 which is 2 mm, nozzle distance at level 3 which is 1,1 mm, and laser power at level 3 which is 2700 W. The focal point parameter provides a percentage contribution of 38.60%, while the nozzle distance parameter provides a percentage contribution of 6.42%, and the laser power parameter provides a percentage contribution of 35.92%.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi industri menuntut tenaga kerja yang tidak hanya mahir dalam keterampilan teknis manual, tetapi juga mampu menguasai perangkat lunak desain teknik seperti AutoCAD. SMK sebagai pencetak tenaga kerja siap pakai memiliki peran penting dalam membekali siswanya dengan kompetensi digital yang relevan dengan kebutuhan dunia industri. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital siswa SMK PGRI 4 Surabaya dalam bidang gambar teknik melalui pelatihan penggunaan AutoCAD. Metode yang digunakan mencakup pelatihan berbasis praktik langsung, demonstrasi, serta pendampingan proyek sederhana. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh 35 siswa kelas XI dari jurusan Teknik Gambar Bangunan dan Teknik Pemesinan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam menggunakan AutoCAD, khususnya dalam menggambar objek 2D dan memahami perintah dasar desain. Selain itu, kegiatan ini juga meningkatkan motivasi siswa untuk mengembangkan diri dalam bidang desain teknik berbasis digital. Program ini diharapkan dapat menjadi bagian dari strategi peningkatan mutu pendidikan vokasi yang adaptif terhadap perkembangan teknologi industri

Abstract

This research explores innovative business models for commercializing Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) in the Indonesian market. By analyzing existing case studies and conducting interviews with industry experts, this study identifies potential business models such as ROV-as-a-Service, technology licensing, and joint ventures. The findings highlight the importance of tailoring business models to specific market segments and leveraging digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This research explores innovative business models for the commercialization of Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROVs) in the Indonesian market. Through case study analysis and interviews with industry experts, this research identifies and evaluates the potential of business models such as ROV-as-a-Service, technology licensing, and joint ventures. The research results show that the ROV-as-a-Service model has the most promising potential, with higher adoption rates among MSMEs due to the flexibility and cost efficiency it offers. In addition, this research also found that the integration of digital technology such as IoT and data analysis can increase ROV operational efficiency and provide added value for customers. These findings provide important implications for companies wishing to enter the ROV market in Indonesia, as well as for policy makers in supporting the development of the marine industry. The ideal number of case studies and interviews in a research depends on several factors, including: Depth of analysis: The deeper you want to dig into a phenomenon, the more cases need to be researched. Case variety: If you want to see a variety of business models or challenges faced by different ROV companies, you need to choose a variety of cases. Availability of resources: Time, cost, and accessibility to data will limit the number of case studies and interviews that can be conducted.

Abstract

AutoCAD is a vital computer-aided design (CAD) tool widely used in civil engineering, architecture, and manufacturing. Mastery of AutoCAD programming significantly enhances the industrial competitiveness of vocational high school (SMK) graduates. This study aims to implement AutoCAD programming training for students at SMK PGRI 4 Surabaya to improve their technical competence and efficiency in using AutoCAD. Employing a project-based learning model, the research evaluated student outcomes through pre- and post-tests. The results indicate a 45% improvement in students’ technical proficiency, particularly in automating repetitive tasks and developing structured design templates using AutoLISP and VBA. The training also enhanced students' ability to create complex technical models and improved their overall design efficiency and problem-solving skills. In addition to technical gains, the training fostered the development of essential soft skills, including teamwork, communication, and creativity, through collaborative, real-world design projects. These findings highlight the effectiveness of integrating AutoCAD programming into vocational curricula to better align with industry needs. Key contributions of this study include: the application of a structured, project-based training model combining CAD and automation programming; empirical evidence of AutoCAD programming’s impact on student readiness for engineering and manufacturing careers; and the dual emphasis on technical and soft skill development, an area often underrepresented in prior research. The study offers practical recommendations for vocational schools to embed programming into CAD instruction, ensuring graduates possess industry-relevant competencies aligned with Industry 4.0 demands

Abstract

Asesmen Kompetensi Minimal (AKM) merupakan salah satu asesmen nasional yang digunakan pada tahun 2021 oleh Kementerian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan untuk menggantikan ujian nasional tingkat SMA. AKM fokus mengukur kemampuan literasi dan numerikal melalui kemampuan logika dan pemahaman baca siswa. Berdasarkan laporan hasil tes PISA pada tahun 2018, kedua kompetensi ini menjadi masalah mendasar siswa di Indonesia. Untuk memicu peningkatan kemampuan logika siswa MAN 2 Madiun, maka diberikan pengetahuan tambahan di luar kurikulum. Salah satunya melalui kegiatan workshop pembuatan automatic mobile robot. Kegiatan ini juga mampu meningkatkan kompetensi dalam literasi digital, teknologi dan manusia pada era revolusi industri 4.0 karena workshop pembuatan automatic mobile robot banyak digunakan dibidang otomasi industri. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode luring melalui tatap muka di Aula MAN 2 Madiun untuk menciptakan ruang pembelajaran interaktif. Dari pelaksanaan kegiatan, didapatkan hasil quiz peserta pada setiap pokok materi menunjukkan hasil sangat memuaskan dengan nilai rata-rata 81 dan hasil tes peserta pada akhir pembelajaran juga menunjukkan hasil memuaskan dengan nilai rata-rata 79. Selain itu, dari hasil kuisioner peserta sebagai bentuk respon dari pelaksanaan kegiatan menunjukkan hasil sangat baik. Dengan adanya kegiatan ini, pembuatan automatic mobile robot dapat dijadikan sebagai salah satu kegiatan ekstrakurikuler untuk meningkatkan kompetensi siswa MAN 2 Madiun.

Abstract

This paper proposes an improved Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) algorithm for photovoltaic (PV) systems under partial shading conditions. The proposed method enhances the widely used Incremental Conductance (IC) algorithm by incorporating an incremental fuzzy control technique. The conventional IC algorithm suffers from limitations in adapting to rapidly changing irradiation conditions due to its fixed step size. The proposed Inc-Fuzzy algorithm dynamically adjusts the step size based on the change in power and voltage, enabling it to better track the Global Maximum Power Point (GMPP) under partial shading. Simulation results demonstrate that the Inc-Fuzzy algorithm achieves an average accuracy of 98.29% under constant irradiation and outperforms the conventional IC algorithm by 1.69% in terms of captured power during sudden irradiation changes. This improvement highlights the effectiveness of the Inc-Fuzzy approach in enhancing the performance of MPPT for PV systems under challenging operating conditions.
