Abstract

Di era digital ini banyak para guru mengeluhkan dekadensi moral dari peserta didiknya, baik etika yang kurang sopan maupun bahasanya yang kurang santun juga. Fenomena ini membuat para guru resah terhadap kondisi siswanya. Usaha para guru untuk menjadi panutan siswanya sudah diterapkan, para guru bila berbicara kepada peserta didiknya dengan berbahasa yang santun dan lembut, namun hasil perubahan belum signifikan yang ditunjukan oleh siswanya. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut kami tim pelaksana pengabdian masyarakat memberikan sosialisasi kesantunan berbahasa kepada para guru SMP Ibnu Syina Cileungsi Kabupaten Bogor. Tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat adalah memberikan strategi-strategi kesantuanan berbahasa agar para guru dapat menerapkan strategi tersebut kepada siswanya dengan harapan ada perubahan terhadap siswanya dalam beretika dan berbahasa. Metode pelaksanaan yaitu ceramah, kami memberikan materi-materi strategi kesantunan berbahasa teori Brown dan Levinson. Hasil dari evaluasi yang kami berikan kepada mitra berupa kuesioner yaitu indikator santun 90%, pujian 87%, simpati 84%, senyum 75% dan senda gurau 74%. Hasil dari pelaksanaan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini adalah para guru merasa senang, antusias dan bertambah wawasannya mengenai strategi kesantunan berbahasa.

Abstract

Branding tidak hanya diterapkan pada produk, tetapi juga pada individu melalui konsep personal branding. Dalam konteks demokrasi, terutama pemilihan umum, personal branding menjadi strategi penting bagi kandidat untuk memperoleh dukungan publik. Berbagai media digunakan, mulai dari alat peraga konvensional hingga media sosial. Namun, Instagram menjadi salah satu platform utama karena mampu menjangkau audiens luas, khususnya generasi muda. Penelitian ini bertujuan menganalisis strategi personal branding calon presiden 2024 di Indonesia melalui akun Instagram resmi mereka. Dengan metode deskriptif, penelitian ini menelaah konten aktivitas dan program tiga capres: Prabowo Subianto, Anies Baswedan, dan Ganjar Pranowo. Hasil analisis menunjukkan perbedaan pendekatan. Prabowo Subianto menampilkan citra “gemoy” yang menarik pemilih muda sekaligus menggambarkan kedekatan dengan semua kalangan. Anies Baswedan menekankan citra intelektual, religius, dan humanis, serta menunjukkan kedekatan dengan keluarga. Ganjar Pranowo menampilkan diri sebagai pemimpin merakyat (wong cilik), aktif berbaur dengan masyarakat, serta menonjolkan pengalaman dua periode sebagai gubernur. Kesimpulannya, ketiga capres memanfaatkan Instagram sebagai sarana personal branding dengan karakter berbeda. Dari hasil analisis, strategi Prabowo Subianto dinilai paling efektif dalam menarik perhatian publik, terutama generasi muda.

Abstract

Language variation is an important linguistic phenomenon because it can show the social diversity of speakers and the function of language in social interaction. In the context of film, language variation can be a mirror of existing social and cultural dynamics and provide comprehensive sociolinguistic insights. The purpose of this study is to describe the forms of language variation found in the dialogue of Sobat Ambyar movie in order to understand the relationship between language variation and the social context behind it and its contribution to strengthening local cultural identity and authenticity of the film. This research approach uses a qualitative approach. The data were obtained by using listening and note-taking techniques, content analysis with descriptive presentation. The results of this study obtained six language variations namely acrolek, basilek, vulgar, colloquial, jargon, and ken in Indonesian and Javanese. The dominant findings of this study were vulgar, basilek, and acrolek, with 18, 13, and 14 findings, severally. The use of these language variations enriches the viewing experience and strengthens local cultural identity, making the film more authentic and close to the audience.

Abstract

This study highlights the importance of the application of heutagogy in online EFL learning in higher education, which is still rarely studied in the Indonesian context. There is a gap between heutagogy theories that emphasize learning autonomy and EFL teaching and learning that tend to be lecturer-centric. This study aims to analyze cultural challenges and opportunities in the application of heutagogy from the perspective of lecturers and students. Using a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with participants from Universitas Pamulang and analyzed using thematic analysis. The results of the study show that there are cultural barriers such as lecturer-centered learning, a hierarchical educational structure, cultural views related to respect and obedience to lecturers, and language proficiency barriers. However, opportunities were also found in the form of increased autonomy, engagement, communication, collaboration, critical thinking skills, and fostering a lifelong learning mindset. This study concludes that heutagogy has the potential to enrich EFL pedagogy in Indonesia with the need for contextual implementation strategies and sustainable lecturer capacity development.

Abstract

The Professional Learning Community (PLC) serves as a means of contextual teacher professional transformation that aligns with the school environment, particularly in addressing instructional challenges. This study examines the gap between the conceptual framework of PLCs as defined in the literature and their practical implementation in schools. The research aims to analyze how the management of Professional Learning Communities (PLCs) can promote teachers’ professional transformation in educational settings. Using a literature review approach, this study synthesizes national and international research findings concerning the effectiveness of learning community management in enhancing teachers’ pedagogical competence, collaboration, and professional reflection. The synthesis reveals that effective and sustainable management of learning communities significantly contributes to improving teacher professionalism, especially when implemented through an iterative cycle of initial reflection, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Proper management not only strengthens teachers’ ability to design and conduct contextual learning but also fosters a culture of collaboration and collective responsibility among educators. Nevertheless, a gap remains between the ideal concept of PLCs and their actual practice in schools, particularly regarding management and program sustainability. Therefore, this study emphasizes the importance of applying cyclical management principles and institutional support to ensure that teacher learning communities truly function as strategic mechanisms for professional development that positively impact teaching quality and student learning outcomes.

Abstract

Keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran merupakan salah satu aspek keterampilan dasar mengajar yang penting untuk dikuasai oleh guru. Tujuan penelitian untuk memberikan gambaran implementasi keterampilan dasar mengajar guru khususnya dalam membuka dan menutup pelajaran pada guru SD Swasta di Kota Depok. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah deskriptif kualitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data melalui angket dan wawancara dengan sampel 8 orang guru pada SD Swasta di Kota Depok yang menjadi nara sumber dalam penelitian. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian keterampilan membuka dan menutup pelajaran terhadap guru SD Swasta di Kota Depok dapat diketahui bahwa keterampilan guru dalam membuka pelajaran mendapat kriteria sangat baik dengan rata rata nilai 96,87% dan dalam keterampilan menutup dengan rata rata nilai 94,75%. Guru sudah berusaha melaksanakan kegiatan membuka dan menutup pelajaran sesuai dengan  standar yang sudah ditentukan oleh sekolah meskipun masih menghadapi kendala seperti pengkondisian siswa diawal untuk siap belajar dan adanya keterlambatan siswa saat akan dimulainya pembelajaran. Sedangkan kendala dalam menutup yaitu menyiapkan siswa untuk duduk rapi mengikuti sesi penutupan. Dalam hal ini solusi yang dilakukan guru yaitu dengan mengingatkan atau mengarahkan siswa dan melakukan game bermain tepuk atau yang lainnya.

Abstract

Perkembangan Iptek memengaruhi cara berinteraksi di masyarakat. Penyimpangan bahasa membuat pola interaksi yang tidak selaras dengan kesantunan para penutur Bahasa Indonesia. Bahasa Indonesia juga memiliki nilai luhur yang berperan membentuk budaya sopan santun dalam interaksi keseharian masyarakat. Penggunaan bahasa Indonesia merepresentasikan tata krama dan budi pekerti yang menjadi identitas dalam bermasyarakat. Tujuan dalam hal ini merupakan penanaman kesadaran dalam pengoptimalan dan perbaikan kesadaran anak dalam menerapkan kesantunan berbahasa di lingkungan keluarga dan masyarakat. Metode ceramah dan edukasi langsung (direct learning) melalui pemaparan konsep, pendekatan dari penerapan kesantunan berbahasa anak, praktek dalam penerapan kesantunan berbahasa dan pemanfaatan media dalam memupuk kesantunan berbahasa anak. Hasil kegiatan ini yaitu: 1) Peran orang tua dalam pendidikan bahasa, 2) Memahami konsep kesantunan berbahasa di lingkungan masyarakat.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning media and cultural intelligence on Maritime English literacy through a quantitative meta-analysis approach. A total of 28 journal articles published between 2012 and 2025 were systematically reviewed based on the PRISMA protocol, involving a combined sample of 3,164 participants from various educational levels and maritime training institutions. Statistical synthesis was conducted using JASP software to obtain pooled effect sizes and assess heterogeneity across studies. The results revealed that both variables had a positive and significant impact on Maritime English literacy. Learning media demonstrated a strong effect size of 0.782 (p < 0.001) with high heterogeneity (I² = 89.59%), reflecting diverse contexts of media implementation. Cultural intelligence showed a moderate effect size of 0.523 (p < 0.001) with very high heterogeneity (I² = 96.99%), indicating contextual variations across studies. These findings affirm that digital and interactive media, as well as cross-cultural competence, play a vital role in enhancing maritime learners’ English proficiency and global communication readiness. The study contributes to both theory and practice by providing a comprehensive quantitative synthesis of the determinants of Maritime English literacy. The results offer a strong empirical foundation for developing technology-based and culturally responsive teaching strategies, aligned with the Standards of Training, Certification, and Watchkeeping for Seafarers (STCW) and International Maritime Organization (IMO) standards.
