Abstract

Training in preparing student thesis proposals is a very strategic activity to improve students' abilities in designing relevant and quality research and of course has many positive benefits for students. The method used in this service activity is to deliver material directly and provide assistance to Jambi University History Education Study Program students in designing a quality thesis proposal. The results of this training have been said to be successful because the participants were able to prepare research proposals well and in accordance with the thesis writing guidelines at Jambi University. With an average score of 82 in the A category.

Abstract

Abstrak: The problem that occurs among students in the history education study program is that the level of student entrepreneurial creativity is still low, and the minimal output of students who take part in the student entrepreneurship program (PMW). This is because the learning process, especially those that support entrepreneurship values, is still limited to theory and minimal practice. This service activity aims to increase the entrepreneurial creativity of history education students through assistance in preparing business plans. This is in line with the vision of the history education study program, namely to become an entrepreneur based on historical skills. This service activity was carried out in two sessions, the first session was the delivery of material by the resource person and the division into groups guided by the moderator. Next, the second session was the practice of preparing business plans and presentations for each group which were monitored by the team. The result is that there are several draft business plans and product prototypes from each group that have been shared

Abstract

The Islamization process that occurred in Jambi coincided with the growth and development of the Islamic kingdom of Jambi around the 15th century AD. This article explains the history of Islamization which has had an influence on the culture of the Jambi people to this day. The method used in this research is a historical research method which is divided into four parts, namely Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The entry of Islam into the Jambi community was brought by adherents of the Islamic faith who came from Arab ethnicity, through trade that passed through waterways by sailing along the Batanghari river. The Islamization process in Jambi has had a big influence on the cultural development of the local community. The influence of Islamization on culture in Jambi can be seen from religious ceremonies commemorating Islamic holidays, marriage practices, art, social systems and architectural styles.

Abstract

This research was carried out with the aim of finding out more deeply about the historical development of Islamic culture in Kerinci. People in Kerinci still don't know much about the historical and cultural heritage of Islam in Kerinci. This type of research uses qualitative descriptive techniques. Research findings show that the construction of mosques is a fundamental aspect of Islamic society. However, the process of building a mosque involves a combination of Islamic, indigenous and foreign cultural elements. Based on the mosque's use at that time, apart from being a place of worship, this mosque also functioned as a place for religious discussions.

Abstract

The history of Prince Wiro Kusumo or Al-Habib Sayyid Idrus bin Hasal Aljufri left traces of Islamic heritage through the Olak Kemang Stone House in Sebrang City, to be precise, Olak Kemang Village, Jambi. It was there that Prince Wiro Kusumo and his colleagues preached to the public to spread Islam, whose development is still being felt today. This research is used to identify the role of Prince Wiro Kusumo in spreading Islam in Jambi and what was used as a medium of preaching at that time. This study employed a descriptive qualitative methodology. The study findings suggest that Prince Wiro's participation and services had a significant impact on the advancement of Islam, especially in Jambi Province itself, which is a history that must be known by the public, not only in Jambi Province but also abroad.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui dampak Tritura yaitu pembubaran PKI beserta ormas-ormasnya yang berakibat adanya perlakuan diskriminatif pada keluarga dan keturunan mantan anggota PKI. Kebijakan Orde Baru yaitu secara tegas bertentangan dengan UUD 1945 yang tidak menghargai persamaan hak warga Negara dalam kehidupan berbangsa dan bernegara. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini ialah metode penelitian kualitatif dengan menggunakan pendekatan penelitian deksriptif. Batasan spasial pada penelitian ini adalah Kota Madiun dan Blitar. Hasil penelitian ini untuk memperoleh informasi mengenai kebijakan-kebijakan yang dianggap diskriminatif dan mengintervensi keluarga dan keturunan eks anggota PKI. Bentuk diskriminasi terlihat dalam kehidupan sehari-hari seperti bidang politik, ekonomi, dan lain-lain. Pada akhirnya kebijakan-kebijakan yang dinilai diskriminasi tersebut penting untuk dipertimbangkan untuk dikaji dan diuji. Karena hal tersebut dinilai tidak relevan  dengan Hak Azasi Manusia dan makna yang terkandung dalam UUD 1945.Kata kunci: Orde Lama, Orde Baru, PKI dan Keturunan.

Abstract

Abstract: Various technological advances in the education make it easier for students to get various reference sources to help with the learning process. This research aims to analyze the use of ChatGPT by students of the History Education Study Program at Jambi University. As well as looking at the potential risks in using ChatGPT in history learning. In this research, quantitative approach was used. The data were collected by surveys and literature studies. We distributed questionnaires to students. analyzed the results referring to the findings from literature review that have been carried out by researchers. Based on the findings and discussions, it can be concluded that: all students know about the existence of the ChatGPT. The majority of them (45.5 percent) use ChatGPT to obtain information related to learning. The intensity of students using this application is included in the frequent category (50.9 percent). By using ChatGPT students feel helped in learning and obtaining information with a percentage reaching 81.8 percent. Apart from its many benefits, in fact the use of ChatGPT in education also poses various kinds of potential risks. So there needs to be supervision for students when using this application, so that academic ethical and moral values are maintained and upheld so that what they do brings benefits. Abstrak: Berbagai kemajuan teknologi di bidang pendidikan memudahkan mahasiswa untuk mendapatkan berbagai sumber referensi untuk membantu proses pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis pemanfaatan ChatGPT oleh mahasiswa Program Studi Pendidikan Sejarah Universitas Jambi. Serta melihat potensi risiko dalam menggunakan ChatGPT dalam pembelajaran sejarah.  Pada penelitian ini akan digunakan pendekatan kuantitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui survei dan studi literatur. Kami membagikan kuesioner kepada mahasiswa. Hasil analisis mengacu pada temuan dari tinjauan pustaka yang telah dilakukan peneliti.Berdasarkan temuan dan pembahasan dapat disimpulkan bahwa seluruh mahasiswa mengetahui keberadaan ChatGPT.Mayoritas dari mereka (45,5 persen) menggunakan ChatGPT untuk memperoleh informasi terkait pembelajaran. Intensitas mahasiswa menggunakan aplikasi ini termasuk dalam kategori sering (50,9 persen).Dengan menggunakan ChatGPT mahasiswa merasa terbantu dalam belajar dan memperoleh informasi dengan persentase mencapai 81,8 persen. Selain banyak manfaatnya, nyatanya penggunaan ChatGPT dalam dunia pendidikan juga mempunyai berbagai macam potensi resiko. Maka perlu adanya pengawasan bagi mahasiswa dalam menggunakan aplikasi ini, agar nilai etika dan moral akademik tetap terjaga dan dijunjung tinggi agar apa yang dilakukannya membawa manfaat.

Abstract

This article aims to discuss the richness of Islamic cultural heritage in the magnificent Land of Jambi. Through exploration of the history, heritage, values, and influence of Islam in Jambi, readers are invited to explore the rich and deep cultural footprint. From the history of the entry of Islam, the beauty of Islamic architecture and art, to the values upheld in local society, this article reveals the diversity and splendor of Islam in the area. The method used in this study is a historical method consisting of 4 parts, namely Heuristics, Source Criticism, Interpretation, and Historiography. The type of source used in this study is collecting secondary sources, which are obtained through the process of document study which in this case can be in the form of data archives that discuss the richness of Islamic cultural heritage in the magnificent Land of Jambi, as well as scientific journals that discuss Islamic cultural heritage in Jambi Land. The result of this research is that Islam entering Jambi has a very much influence on the lives of Jambi people. This can be seen from the many changes in the order of social life, Islamic cultural relics, and even traditions that were present after Islam entered Jambi.

Abstract

Culture is emotion, creativity and intention. Culture is the result of human production itself. Culture always coexists with tradition. This research aims to determine the symbolic meaning of wedding traditions in the Malay community in Jambi, Mersam District. Garudo riding is a community tradition in Mersam District, Mersam District, Jambi City. We can see the Naik Garudo tradition at weddings or during the procession of the bride and groom during the day. The research methodology used in writing this research consists of four stages, namely elicitation, source criticism, interpretation, and historiography. The types of sources used in writing this research are library research and technical historical analysis using interpretation of historical facts which include books, documents and journals related to Jambi Malay customs. The results of this research are that "garudo" or "garuda" in Indonesian is a palanquin in the shape of an eagle decorated as a bridal carriage. Garuda is carried by male and female family members. Naik Garudo has a symbolic meaning. Garudo which appears in the Jambi Malay tradition has a symbolic meaning. Garudo means strength, courage and justice. During the wedding process, using Galudo can bring blessings and good luck to the bride and groom.

Abstract

This research aims to identify Islamic culture in Jambi City. The method used in this research is a method that contains 4 stages of research types, namely, Heuristic, Source Criticism, Interpretation and Historiography. The type of source used in writing the research is secondary sources obtained from the results of library studies using historical analysis techniques using interpretation in history which includes books, documents and journals related to Islamic Culture in Jambi City. The results of this research show that Islam entered this area in 1460 AD, or around the 15th century AD. The bearer was an Arab merchant named Ahmad Salim, who later became known as "Datuk Paduka Berhala". He married a Jambi king named Mama, who was known as "Princess Selaras Pinang MasakHistory records that several Islamic boarding schools have been established since the early 20th century AD. Not only Islamic boarding schools, the legacy and culture of Islamic influence in Jambi City include religious ritual traditions in the form of commemorations of Assyura (Syuro), Burdah, Nginau, Nuak Ketan, and so on.
