Abstract

The concept of nafs in Islamic psychology is important to guide students' development by combining spiritual and moral values in contemporary education. This study aims to analyze the concept of nafs in Islamic psychology and its relevance to student development. This research method is qualitative with a literature study approach. The result of this research is that the conscept of nafs in Islam is very important in education and self-development. A deeper understanding of this concept opens up opportunities to understand the role of nafs in the Qur'an and its application in Islamic guidance and counseling. This concept influences the formation of character, morale, and identity of students, and helps to overcome developmental challenges. Incorporating the values of the concept of nafs in learning also helps develop 21st century skills such as creativity, communication, and critical thinking. In character education, the concept of tazkiyatun nafs combines noble values, humanity, and religion, helping students become good in morals. The positive influence of the concept of nafs is also related to the understanding of the influence of the social and cultural environment on students' religious awareness and spirituality.

Abstract

In today’s digital era, conventional teaching methods often fail to captivate students, making interactive media a promising solution. Interactive media combines visual, audio, and participatory elements, providing a more engaging and effective learning experience. The development process includes analyzing student needs and curriculum, selecting appropriate technology, creating interactive content, conducting trials, and evaluating effectiveness. This study uses a qualitative approach. Primary data sources in qualitative research are the words of the interview results obtained from primary data including respondents from teachers and students in SDMT Ponorogo. Data collection is carried out by means of snowball sampling. The data collection technique in this study is through observation, in-depth interviews and documentation. The data obtained during the study, both primary and secondary data are then processed and analyzed using Miles and Huberman model. The validity test of data in qualitative research includes tests, credibility, transferability, dependability, and confirmability. The article highlights the benefits of interactive media, including increased student motivation, improved understanding of abstract religious concepts, and the development of critical thinking skills. This approach not only modernizes religious education but also ensures that students remain interested and actively involved in learning. Through proper testing and implementation, interactive media can significantly enhance the quality of Islamic Religious Education at SDMT Ponorogo. The developed media, which consists of animated videos, interactive quizzes, and educational games, is able to make the learning process more engaging and increase student engagement.

Abstract

Spiritual intelligence is an important aspect in student development, which not only includes religious understanding, but also the ability to appreciate life values, empathize, and have a harmonious relationship with God, oneself, and the environment. The research method used was qualitative with a case study approach. Data were collected through observation, in-depth interviews with teachers, students, and parents, as well as documentation studies. The results showed that SD Muhammadiyah Ponorogo implemented Islamic education through various activities, such as congregational prayers, memorization of the Qur'an, cultivation of noble character, and integration of Islamic values into daily learning. Teachers played a key role as role models in instilling spiritual values. In addition, collaboration between the school and parents also supported the development of students' spiritual intelligence. The impact of this implementation can be seen from the increased awareness of students towards spiritual values, such as honesty, discipline, and caring for others. This study concludes that integrated and consistent Islamic education can be effective in fostering students' spiritual intelligence, which ultimately contributes to the formation of good character and noble morals.

Abstract

Poverty that occurs in Karangpatihan is one of the special concerns for the village government, especially for the people of the Unable, there are several kinds of economic development that have been carried out, namely by means of goat farming programs, catfish farming, free-range chicken farming and others. In addition to raising livestock for Tunagrahita residents, they also develop mat crafts and make splash batik typical of the residents of Tunagrahita Balong Ponorogo, this splash batik is an income program for Tunagrahita residents. Splash batik crafts in Karangpatihan Village have been running for more than 7 years, this craft is carried out at the Rumah Harapan of Karangpatihan Village, Balong Ponorogo which is carried out by people with disabilities with disabilities. This splash batik has many models with various patterns produced, this splash batik can be bought or ordered at the Karangpatihan Village Hope house with various prices of Rp.160,000 per piece and so on splash batik that has been made by the disabled becomes the flagship product of Karangpatihan Balong village Ponorogo Finished splash batik is then collected at the Karangpatihan Balong village hope house to be displayed. Splash batik is the mainstay product of the Balong ponorogo homeless community which is managed by a team of volunteers from the Rumah Harapan volunteers.

Abstract

Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi mengenai pentingnya kesehatan mental dalam perspektif Islam sekaligus menumbuhkan jiwa kewirausahaan pada generasi muda, khususnya anggota Komunitas Jurnal Pelajar Ponorogo. Kegiatan dilaksanakan dengan metode penyuluhan, diskusi interaktif, dan pelatihan kewirausahaan berbasis kreativitas literasi. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman peserta terkait konsep kesehatan mental Islami yang berlandaskan nilai ketenangan hati, kesabaran dan tawakal. Selain itu, peserta mampu merumuskan ide-ide wirausaha sederhana yang dapat dikembangkan melalui keterampilan membuat produk kewirausahaan. Program ini diharapkan menjadi upaya preventif terhadap masalah psikososial remaja serta meningkatkan kemandirian ekonomi berbasis nilai Islam.

Abstract

This study aims to explore and analyze Islamic views and paradigms regarding motivation and their application in the educational environment. The research method used is a qualitative approach with a focus on text and context analysis from primary Islamic sources as well as interviews with relevant parties in the educational environment. Through in-depth analysis of classical texts, hadith, and contemporary literature, this research gains an understanding of Islamic views on motivational factors, such as life goals, spiritual satisfaction, and social responsibility. The results of the research show that in the Islamic paradigm, motivation is not only material, but also spiritual and moral. Life goals that are directed towards achieving the hereafter provide a transcendental dimension in individual motivation. Motivation is strengthened by inner satisfaction and balance between worldly and spiritual needs. Social responsibility is also a motivator, in which individuals are motivated to provide benefits to society and the environment

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the self-efficacy level of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers and identify factors that influence the implementation of deep learning-based learning at Muhammadiyah 1 High School, Ponorogo. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and documentation studies of eight PAI teachers. Data analysis was conducted using the interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña which includes the stages of reduction, presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results show that the level of self-efficacy of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) teachers is in the medium to high category with variations in three main dimensions : learning planning (high), implementation (medium-high), and challenge management (medium). The most dominant strengthening factors are mastery experience through successful experiences and social persuasion through collegial support, while inhibiting factors include administrative burden, limited practice models, and physiological fatigue due to workload. Overall, teacher self-efficacy acts as a catalyst for pedagogical transformation from conventional approaches to contextual, reflective, and character-based deep learning.

Abstract

Natural science education plays a critical role in shaping students’ understanding of the natural world and their responsibility toward environmental sustainability. Within faith-informed educational contexts, science learning is increasingly viewed not only as an empirical endeavor but also as a medium for ethical and spiritual reflection. This study aims to synthesise existing research on the integration of Islamic values into natural science education in fostering environmental awareness among elementary school students through a Systematic Literature Review guided by the PRISMA 2020 framework. Relevant studies published between 2018 and 2024 were systematically identified, screened, and analysed using a thematic synthesis approach. The findings indicate that the integration of Islamic ethical principles, including stewardship, responsibility, balance, and care for cleanliness, is consistently associated with enhanced environmental awareness at cognitive, affective, and spiritual levels. Integrated thematic learning, contextual instruction grounded in Qur’anic reflection, and experiential activities are widely reported as supportive pedagogical strategies. This review contributes a consolidated conceptual reference for values-informed science education and highlights directions for future empirical research on sustainable environmental learning in primary education contexts.

Abstract

Abstract Access to quality education is a fundamental right and an important pillar in shaping an individual’s personality, including for Indonesian migrant workers’ children in Malaysia, who face limitations in obtaining educational services. This situation requires a more flexible, engaging, and easily absorbed learning approach for students. This study was designed to improve mastery of Asmaul Husna Material through the application of the Canva platform as a learning medium for Indonesian migrant workers’ children at ICC Muar, Malaysia. This Research adopted a Classroom Action Research (CAR) approach conducted in two cycles, covering the planning, action, observation, and reflection phases. Data were collected through direct observation, learning evaluation, and documentation techniques, which were then processed using the Miles, Huberman, and Saldana analysis framework. The study findings show progress in the learning process and outcomes after integrating Canva media. The student completion rate, which was initially only 22% on the pre-test, increased to 56% in cycle I, but this figure is still below the set success standard of 75%. After improvements were made, cycle II showed a significant jump with a completion rate of 85%. Learning with Canva has proven effective as an alternative instructional medium for Islamic Religious Education. It provides empirical evidence for the development of digital-based Islamic Religious Education in the context of non-formal education in migrant communities.
