Abstract

Pakan merupakan salah satu komponen penting yang menentukan keberhasilan akuakultur, terutama sebagai penyedia energi dalam metabolisme ikan. Namun, hingga saat ini pakan menyita 60-70% dari keseluruhan total biaya produksi, terutama sistem budidaya intensif sehingga perlu dilakukan formulasi pakan menggunakan bahan baku lokal sebagai alternatif yang memiliki kandungan nutrisi tinggi dan harga lebih terjangkau dari pakan komersial. Penelitian menggunakan tepung tulang ikan sebagai bahan utama, dengan penambahan tepung lainnya dan terbagi menjadi 4 perlakuan (P1, P2, P3 dan P4) dengan penambahan pakan pabrik sebagai kontrol. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pakan dengan perlakuan P4 memiliki karakteristik fisis dan kimiawi terbaik, dengan daya rekat, daya apung dan daya tahan dalam air yang menyerupai ketahanan pakan pabrik. Keseluruhan perlakuan pakan memiliki total energi lebih dari 1 kkal / gram dengan konversi harga lebih murah >10% dibandingkan pakan buatan pabrik, sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa formulasi pakan lokal hasil penelitian ini dapat digunakan sebagai alternatif pakan buatan komersial.

Abstract

Kondisi geografis lokasi akuakultur memegang pengaruh yang besar dalam keberhasilan usaha budidaya. Lokasi tambak bandeng dan vanemei di Desa Manyar Sidomukti berdekatan dengan zona industri mengakibatkan suhu sumber aliran air menjadi hangat. Disamping itu, substrat tanah berkapur mengakibatkan pH air terlalu basah menjadi salah satu faktor penhambat pertumbuhan baik bandeng maupun vanamei. Beberapa upaya diterapkan untuk menguatkan produksi tambak. Aplikasi kincir air mampu menguatkan oksigen terlarut hingga 10.3 mg/L. Pengurangan padat tebar benih dan memperpanjang waktu panen menjadi alternatif solusi untuk menurunkan resiko gagal panen.

Abstract

Green mussels, as one of several food source in Indonesia and cultured by stake cultures, are susceptible to barnacles Balanus sp. The purpose of this study was to analyze the population of Balanus sp. related to the amount of them attached to the clam shells in various length classes of green mussels, determine the intensity and prevalence of Balanus sp. on green mussels, and analyzed the correlation between length and total weight of green mussels Perna viridis to Balanus sp. The study was conducted at Banyuurip Beach, Ujungpangkah District, Gresik Regency in June-July 2021. The sampling interval was set once every 20 days on each stake culture. The selected stake culture was determined by purposive sampling; with the sample are green mussels and Balanus sp. The variable of this research is the number of Balanus sp. attached to the shell on various classes of mussel length, intensity, prevalence, biometry and correlation between length and weight, correlation between height and total weight, correlation of width and total weight of green mussels attached by Balanus sp. Data analysis was done by the T-test and correlation. The results showed that The 1st stake culture was dominated by barnacles Balanus sp. in class VII of green mussel length (47.7 – 55.4)mm. The 2nd stake culture was dominated by barnacles in class VII green mussel length (47.7 – 55.4)mm. The 3rd stake culture was dominated by barnacles Balanus sp. in the green mussel length class VI (39.9 – 47.6)mm. The intensity of attack by Balanus sp. on green mussels showed an average value of 7±3.54 individual/tail on 1st stake, and 8±7.78 individual/tail on 2nd stake. Both are considered to be a moderate intensity. The highest prevalence of barnacles Balanus sp. was in the 1st stake, with the score of 51%±46.67, and was included in the very frequent category. As the conclusion, this results showed that the presence of the ectoparasite Balanus sp. has a moderate effect on green mussels growth, which shown a disturbance in the length and the width of green mussels.

Abstract

Green mussel (Perna viridis) is one of the marine resource commodities with great potential that needs to be exploited in the Banyuurip Sea, owing to its ample availability throughout the year and limited exploration. The purpose of this study was to analyze biometry, class size distribution, length—weight relationship, and condition index of green mussels in the Banyuurip Sea, Banyuurip Village, Ujungpangkah District, Gresik Regency. This study employs a descriptive method, with five stake cultures chosen through purposive sampling. During the study period from June-August 2021, 20 samples (from a total 300 biota) were collected at each station for 20 days on the five stake cultures investigated. The findings of biometric measures taken during the study revealed that the value of the class size distribution variable in the Stake I had 7 classes, the Stake II had 6 classes, the Stake III had 9 classes, the Stake IV had 6 classes, and the Stake V had 7 classes. The value of 'b' morphometry and the length—weight relationship of green mussels (L-b) 0.77, (L-w) 0.39, (L-tw) 1.69, (L-ww) 1.71. The index value of the condition of the green mussels on the Stake I (30.94±2.12), the Stake II (31.45±3.24), the Stake III (31.39±5.49), the Stake IV (32.82±4.39), and the Stake V (33.44±5.48).

Abstract

The mangrove ecosystem is home to various coastal biota, including the mangrove crab (Scylla spp.). This crab is found practically in all coastal water overgrown with mangroves and can adapt well to high salinity. Banyuurip’s mangrove features environmental characteristics as well as a relatively large diversity of mangrove species, making it suitable for silvofishery farming. In this study, line transects and remote sensing analyses utilizing Landsat 8 satellite imagery were employed at 5 research sites using the ArcGIS v.9.0 and ENVI v.11.0 map processing appliations. The ImageJ program was used to determine the percentage of mangrove coverage data. The results revealed a dominance of Avicennia marina, Bruguiera cylindrica, Rhizopora stylosa, Rhizopora mucronata, Ceriops tagal, and Sonneratia alba mangroves scattered at least at two stations along the waters of Banyuurip Beach, where mangrove crabs preferred the leaf litter of these mangrove species. The percentage of coverage in the mangrove region at stations 1-5 is medium to tight, ranging from 23.56±8.75 – 68.14±7.77%. Stations 1-3 were found to be good for cultivating adult crabs, whereas stations 4-5 were found to be excellent for immature crabs. The amount of mangroves is expected to rise from 1249.578 Ha to 1546.215 Ha between 2018 and 2022. The overlay findings demostrate that there is potential mud crab cultivation using the silvofishery method, with the total area available for early stage development is 342.603 Ha.

Abstract

Pondok pesantren Al-Muniroh terletak di Kecamatan Ujungpangkah dan memiliki suatu kegiatan yang tergolong unik, yaitu pembudidayaan ikan koi. Namun Selama pemeliharaan 2-3 tahun, Koi yang dipelihara pertumbuhan cenderung lambat dengan warna yang kurang menarik, sehingga tidak memiliki nilai ekonomis. Salah satu upaya yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan dan perbaikan warna ikan dapat dilakukan dengan pemberian pakan tambahan yang berasal dari Spirulina spp. Jenis alga cyanophyta ini dikenal memiliki karotenoid yang cukup tinggi sehingga diharapkan dapat memperbaiki warna ikan koi menjadi lebih cerah merata dalam waktu yang singkat. Melalui Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat internal yang dilaksanakan oleh program studi Budidaya Perikanan Fakultas Pertanian Universitas Muhammadiyah Gresik para santri pondok akan mendapatkan pengetahuan cara budidaya spirulina secara lengkap. Kegiatan pertama adalah pemberian materi cara budidaya spirulina secara laboratorium, semmi massal dan massal. Kegiatan Kedua berupa Demplot Budidaya Spirulina Skala Semi Massal Sebagai Pakan Tambahan pada ikan Koi (Cyprinus rubrofuscus. Kegiatan bertujuan dapat meningkatkan daya jual ikan koi milik pondok pesantren Al-Muniroh pada masyarakat lokal, terutama area Gresik Utara.

Abstract

Green mussels (Perna viridis) in Banyu Urip Village, Ujung Pangkah Gresik District, have great potential to be developed due to the abundant availability of seeds in nature, easy cultivation methods, namely using floating net cages and step nets, and high market demand. One of the issues with green mussels is the high content of the heavy metal Lead (Pb) in their flesh, which is caused by heavy metal accumulation in the waters. The goal of this study was to isolate, characterize, and test the ability of heavy metal Lead-Pb bacteria to biosorb heavy metal Pb in post-harvest green mussels from sediments and green mussels in the Banyu urip Ujung Pangkah Gresik Sea. The stages of the research included sampling, isolation, macroscopic and microscopic characterization, in vitro testing of Pb heavy metal absorbent. The results showed 6 bacterial isolates, namely two from green mussels coded K1 and K2 and 4 bacterial isolates from marine sediments coded S1, S2, S3 and S4. The six bacterial isolates obtained macroscopic and microscopic characteristics and have been shown in vitro to be able to grow in Nutrient agar enriched 0.8 mg/L Pb(NO3)2.

Abstract

Bawean Island is a sheltered and clean coastal waters that can be exploited for mariculture, particularly seaweed. Due to its enclosed environment, the presence of different wastes, particularly microplastics, is deemed negligible. The purpose of this research is to investigate the prevalence of microplastics in numerous seaweeds on Bawean Island's southwest shore, as well as the viability of seaweed production. At a depth of 1-6 meters, samples of red, green, and brown seaweed were obtained and examined for microplastics by destroying the cell walls. At the two observation sites, water characteristics such as current, pH, salinity, TDS, DO, substrate, temperature, depth, and brightness were also monitored. Based on the results, the southwest coastal waters of Bawean were suitable for seaweed cultivation. Furthermore, the lowest-highest microplastic concentration was discovered in Gracillaria sp. 44±18 particles/100g, Halimeda sp. 52±16 particles/100g, Caulerpa sp. 94±31 particles/100g, and Sargassum sp. 251±59 particles/100g, with a form of microplastic found in fragments, fibers, and films. Various colors of microplastics were found. According to this study, seaweed can act as a vector for microplastics to infiltrate the food chain. This is indicated by the substantial accumulation of microplastics in cultivation potential zones of seaweed where there are fewer human activities. This microplastic accumulation could then occur at a higher trophic level, thus seaweed in nature must be quarantined and cleaned after cultivation to reduce the concentration of microplastic contamination.

Abstract

Permasalahan gizi buruk serta stunting merupakan hal yang perlu ditanggulangi di Indonesia. Pengetahuan bahan makanan yang bergizi masih berperan dalam pencegahan kenaikan angka stunting. Beragam pangan dapat diaplikasikan ke dalam olahan makanan untuk balita. Ketidaktahuan orang tua bayi dalam penyajian makanan sehat dan bergizi baik menjadikan ketersediaan makanan bagi balita hanya berdasarkan jumlah saja tanpa melihat komposisi gizi makanan tersebut. Oleh karena itu, tujuan dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahanan masyarakat terkait pencegahan stunting dan peningkatan status gizi anak melalui diversifikasi olahan berbasis pangan yang memiliki protein tinggi. Hasil dari kegiatan diskusi adalah peserta secara keseluruhan dapat mengetahui beragam bahan makanan sehat bergizi yang dapat digunakan dalam pencegahan stunting, mampu mengolah ekado secara sederhana dengan tepat, hingga pengemasan dan penyimpanan. Berdasarkan hasil survey, didapatkan 21.75% peserta menyatakan sudah pernah memperoleh penyuluhan stunting dan 67.25% peserta belum pernah memperoleh penyuluhan tentang stunting, serta seluruh peserta (100%) menyatakan puas dan memeroleh manfaat dari kegiatan PKM.

Abstract

Desa Sungai Teluk, Kecamatan Sangkapura, Kabupaten Gresik, merupakan daerah pesisir di Pulau Bawean yang memiliki potensi wisata dan marikultur yang tinggi. Mayoritas masyarakat setempat mengandalkan sumberdaya di wilayah pesisir sebagai mata pencaharian, terutama sebagai pembudidaya lobster, nelayan, maupun penggerak wisata alam pesisir. Desa ini memiliki potensi budidaya komoditas perikanan cukup tinggi, salah satu diantaranya adalah rumput laut, yang merupakan produk bernilai ekonomis sebagai bahan baku industri farmasi-kosmetik yang sangat dibutuhkan di pasar global. Namun demikian, hingga saat ini, masyarakat Bawean masih memandang sebelah mata akan komoditas rumput laut ini. Masyarakat masih belum tahu manfaat hingga tata cara pembudidayaan rumput laut. Mereka masih mengambil langsung ke perairan dalam jumlah yang besar dengan harga murah. Jika hal ini dilakukan terus menerus dapat menyebabkan kelangkaan stok. Padahal, telah ditemukan berbagai cara pembudidayaan rumput laut untuk meningkatkan potensi komoditi tersebut sehingga menjadi komoditas penting untuk menopang tingkat perekonomian masyarakat. Hal ini didukung dengan pertimbangan kondisi perairan yang baik, teknologi budidaya yang mudah, waktu pemeliharaan relatif singkat, pasar global yang cukup tersedia, serta tawaran harga yang kompetitif. Metode yang digunakan yaitu FGD (Fokus grub diskusi) meningkatkan produksi dengan sistem lepas dasar, pengolahan pascapanen dan pemasaran hasil panen rumput laut bernilai jual tinggi.
