Abstract

ABSTRACTRasau and Selempaya riveris one of the Pelalawan village. However, the information about these kinds of fish in the area is still limited. To understand the types of fish present in the rasau and selempaya river, a study has been conducted in March  2019. Catching is carried every day for two weeks until there is no longer found a new species of fish. Fish catching was done by using line fishing’s, “langgi” and “togun”. Fish sampled were then identified based on Kottelat et al. (1993) and Saanin (1968). Results shown that the caught fish consistsof  3 orders, 11 families, 13 genera and  21 species. The condition of the water quality at rasau and selempaya river shows that temperature of  28oC-31oC, brightness of 30-76.5 cm, depth  1,6-4 m, flow velocity 0.010-0.017 m / sec, pH of 5-5.5, dissolved oxygenof 3,7-4,4 mg/L and carbondioxide 16-17 mg/L. Keywords: Identification, Rasau River, Selempaya River

Abstract

AbstractResearch of the relationship between growth pattern and feeding habits of snakehead fish (Channa striata) was conducted in November-December 2020. This study aims to determine the growth pattern and feeding habits of snakehead fish. he method used in this research is a survey method. Fish samples were caught using bamboo fish trap in Teluk Petai Lake, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. Catching fish is carried out every two weeks with 4 replications. The sample consisted of 88 fish, 50 male and 38 female. The gravimetric method was used to observe the eating habits of snakehead fish. Meanwhile, to determine the percentage of the largest amount of food in the stomach of the fish used the IP (Index of Preponderance) method. The results of the analysis of the growth pattern of snakehead fish are allometric positive (b = 3.059).Meanwhile, the analysis of feeding habits shows that snakehead fish are classified as carnivore fish with the main food being fish (IP 75.28%), insects (IP 20.64%) and plants (IP 4.07%). Keywords: Feeding habits, Gravimeritc, Growth Pattern,Index Of Preponderance, Snakehead fish.

Abstract

Abstract               Seagrass beds have a variety of important functions in the seagrass ecosystem, including nursery areas, feeding grounds, and protected areas. To find out the fish that live in seagrass ecosystem, gillnet and bubu trap are used. The results of the identification of fish species that live in the seagrass ecosystems in the Mie Strait waters found 30 species of fish. From the calculation of species dominance. The type of seagrass in the Mie Strait seagrass is one type of seagrass. One type of seagrass is Enhalus accoroide. The water quality of the noodle strait waters is as follows: temperature 30-30.5 0C, brightness 2.5-3 m, pH 7-8, salinity 30-31 ppt, dissolved oxygen 6.1-6.5 mg / L Keywords : Types of fish, seagrass, strait of noodles

Abstract

Abstract Thynnichthys thynnoidesis one of freshwater fishes that inhabit the Teluk Petai lake.A research aim to understand the information on stomach content and it’s relationship with size, sex and environmental condition. This research has been done on March to April 2019. Fish samples were captured using sempirai and nets. Sampling was conducted 4 times in two months. Type of food present in the stomach content of fish was analyzed using a volumetric method and the IP (Index of Preponderance) was calculated. There were 95 fish captured. Result shown the feed of T. thynnoidesphytoplankton (Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae, Cyanophyceae) and Zooplankton (Rotifera). The main food of T. thynnoideswasBacillariophyceae(57.62%). There was no differences in the main food of males and female fishes. The water quality parameter were as follows: temperature 30.5 0C, brightness 76.25 cm, pH 6, DO 6.44 mg/L, CO2 9.75 mg/L. Based on data obtained, it can be concluded that theT. thynnoides is an plankton feeder. Keywords:Thynnichthys thynnoides, StomachContentAnalysis, Index of Preponderance, TelukPetaiLake

Abstract

Sail River is a sub-watershed of the Siak River in Pekanbaru City with various community domestic activities that cause the waters to be polluted by waste. One of the organisms that is tolerant of poor water quality is microalgae. The aims of this research to determine the potential microalgae in the Sail River. This research was conducted in September-December 2021 using a survey method. There were 4 sampling areas and in each sampling area there were 3 sampling points. Sampling were taken once/week for 3 weeks. Water quality parameters observed were temperature, transparency, pH, DO, CO2, nitrate and phosphate. The microalgae found were then isolated and culture in the laboratory, cultured in water media with Walne fertilizer added and their growth was observed. The results of this study shown that the microalgae found consisted of 2 classes, namely: Chlorophyceae (16 species) and Cyanophyceae (5 species). The isolated microalgae were: Chlorella vulgaris, Coelastrum microporum, Scenedesmus quadricauda, Pediastrum biradiatum and Merismopedia punctata. Microalgae isolates reached peak growth on the 7th to the 8th day. Meanwhile, the harvested biomass ranged from 0,05 g/L to 0,3 g/L. Based on the results of this research, it can be concluded that these five types of microalgae isolates are potential to be utilized.
