Abstract

Philosophy is the mother of all sciences that directs people to think critically, rooted and deep. In this context the author focuses on the philosophical mindset in human life. Philosophy and science are two words that are related to each other, both substantially and historically because the birth of science cannot be separated from the role of philosophy, on the contrary the development of science strengthens the existence of philosophy. The birth of philosophy in Greece on the minds of the Greeks from the point of view of methodology eventually disappeared and in turn it was ratio that was dominant. With philosophy, the mindset that always depends on God is transformed into a mindset that depends on ratios. Natural events such as eclipses are no longer considered as activities of sleeping Gods, but are natural occurrences caused by the sun, moon and earth being in parallel lines, so that the moon's shadow falls on part of the earth's surface. For this reason, this process requires a basic pattern of thinking and a pattern of thinking based on how science is used as a basis for discussing reality.

Abstract

The characteristics of the independent curriculum include the implementation of project-based learning and local content, but there are still some teachers who have difficulty implementing project-based learning with local content. This study aims to determine the need for a project-based virus enrichment module with a local issue context as additional learning media for students. This study uses quantitative and qualitative descriptive methods with the research subjects being 35 grade X students and one biology teacher. Data collection techniques through questionnaires and interviews. The questionnaire was filled out by a biology teacher and 35 grade X students. Interviews were conducted with a biology educator and four students. Data analysis techniques by describing research data in the form of percentages and opinion descriptions. The results of the needs analysis show that the virus material is considered difficult because it is abstract, learning still uses textbooks and has never been project-based, while students enjoy learning that makes them do activities in a fun way and produce work. They felt the need for additional learning resources besides textbooks, especially virus development material. Therefore, learning media in the form of project-based enrichment modules on viruses in plants needs to be developed to meet the demands of the independent curriculum and improve students' 4C skills in facing the challenges of the 21st century.

Abstract

Child discipline is a crucial parental responsibility in forming a generation of character and reverence for God, but its practice often falls into two extremes: harsh discipline potentially harming the child or an overly permissive approach that leaves children without moral guidance. This biblical exegetical research on Proverbs 19:18 aims to analyze the concept of child discipline from a biblical perspective, using a comprehensive interpretive method that considers socio-theological context. The research results show that true discipline is an educational process based on love, encompassing instruction, wise correction, and educational consequences, focusing on forming children's spiritual character from an early age through a holistic approach that avoids violence and directs children towards wisdom and obedience to God.

Abstract

This paper examines the fundamental principles of multicultural education within the philosophical frameworks of Buddhism and Islam. The significance of this subject lies in the fact that the examination of multicultural education is mostly focused on accounts of educational reform methods and movements, with very little exploration of the theoretical underpinnings and conceptual elements, particularly in relation to the philosophical foundations of multicultural education. This report compiles data from many literary sources, employing a qualitative analysis approach. This study scrutinizes the comparative analysis of multicultural education through the lens of Buddhism and Islam, utilizing a conceptual framework that emphasizes the investigation of ontology, epistemology, and axiology as key variables for comparison. The study revealed that there exist conceptual distinctions in the context of multiculturalism when comparing Buddhism and Islam. Divergences arise due to the distinct historical foundations of Islam and Buddhism. However, it is essential to note that there exist inherent similarities in the domains of ontology, epistemology, and axiology, thus indicating a convergence between Islam and Buddhism in the context of developing a multicultural framework for education. Islamic philosophy and Buddhist philosophy offer a solid foundation for the practical application of multicultural education.

Abstract

This study explores the integration of financial literacy into education curricula, with a particular focus on Indonesia’s Merdeka Curriculum, using a bibliometric review of 316 peer-reviewed articles from the Scopus database (2016–2025). Through bibliometric mapping via VOSviewer, the research identifies five thematic clusters: policy development, behavioral outcomes, student knowledge and attitudes, digital financial literacy, and interdisciplinary education strategies. Key findings reveal a global surge in financial literacy research post-2016, largely driven by policy mandates and the rise of digital finance, with the United States leading in scholarly output. However, research remains heavily concentrated in high-income countries, while regions like Indonesia are underrepresented despite clear policy interest. The study uncovers several implementation barriers in educational settings, including limited teacher training, inadequate resources, and a lack of standardized evaluation metrics. Promising practices—such as project-based learning, the integration of financial literacy into mathematics, and digital tools—have demonstrated improved student engagement and financial behavior. In Indonesia, six core studies suggest a growing awareness of financial education but underscore the need for contextualized curricula and community-based support. The study recommends more inclusive policies, cross-disciplinary collaboration, and longitudinal impact assessments to ensure financial literacy becomes a core competency in global education systems.

Abstract

The research examines the Buddhist perspective on food consumption, by exploring the understanding of the concepts of halal and haram in Buddhism. This research was conducted using a literature study approach, by examining Buddhist scriptures and relevant literature such as books, journals, scientific articles, to compare the Buddhist perspective on eating etiquette with the concepts of halal and haram in Islam. The findings show that halal and haram refer to foods that are and are not allowed to be consumed. Although Buddhism does not have specific terms similar to halal and haram, Buddhism has a set of moral and ethical principles that have the same function as the concepts of halal and haram, which guide humanity to determine what is permissible and what is not. Buddhism has the term "bhojana Sappāya" or "supportive food" which can be understood as a food that is suitable for the body, can improve the health of the body, is easy to eat and digest. In principle, Buddhism views the good and bad of a food not only in terms of the content in it, but also includes the way it is eaten and the way it is obtained. Eating should be obtained in a way that does not violate Buddhist morality. Meats that should not be consumed are human flesh (manussamaṃsaṃ), elephants (hatthimaṃsaṃ), horses (assamaṃsaṃ), dogs (sunakhamaṃsaṃ), snakes (ahimaṃsaṃ), lions (sīhamaṃsaṃ), tigers (byagghamaṃsaṃ), leopards (dīpimaṃsaṃ), bears (acchamaṃsaṃ), and hyenas (taracchamaṃsaṃ). Etiquette when it comes to eating has been set out in sekhiyavatta, which allows one to have a polite and respectful way of eating.

Abstract

This article evaluates the policy of Special Autonomy (Privileges) in the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY), which has been in place since 2012 and focuses on institutional strengthening based on local cultural values. Although designed to strengthen local governance and cultural institutions, the impact of such policies on poverty alleviation remains limited. Using a qualitative descriptive approach, this study explores the perceptions of stakeholders and the public, as well as examines policy documents and budget allocation reports. The findings reveal that the implementation of the five privileged affairs has gradually shifted from land and space affairs to institutional and cultural development. The changing nomenclature of the government’s organisation has been allowing the further distribution of special funds to the kalurahan office, as it is part of the institutional development of the government. This program will hopefully have a leverage effect the the surrounding society to participate in the application of cultural values in the region. However, most programs remain bureaucratic and top-down, limiting their potential to improve social welfare. The study concludes that a reorientation towards community-based programs rooted in cultural empowerment is necessary to realise the constitutional mandate of prosperity and tranquillity. This article contributes to the discourse on asymmetric decentralisation and its alignment with the effectiveness of public policy in culturally distinct regions.

Abstract

This study aims to understand the efforts of SMK N 1 Karanganyar in fostering entrepreneurial skills in students. Entrepreneurial skills are an important aspect to learn at this time given the unstable unemployment rate in Indonesia and the limited job opportunities. This research uses a case study approach with qualitative methods. Data were collected through interviews with principals, teachers, and students involved in the entrepreneurship skills development programme at SMK N 1 Karanganyar. The results showed that the school has made various innovations in providing entrepreneurship programmes. However, there are shortcomings in the implementation of Loket Medio, where not all students get practical experience in application-based services. This condition has the potential to cause knowledge inequality among students. In addition, the school does not have an alternative programme to overcome this obstacle. These findings emphasise the importance of improvements in the entrepreneurship programme to produce graduates who excel in entrepreneurship and are able to contribute to addressing the unemployment problem in Indonesia.
