Abstract

Stunting is one of the nutritional problems that can hinder the growth and development process in toddlers. Untreated stunting can lead to fatal outcomes. Previous research on the factors that exist in the incidence of stunting mostly used multivariate analysis. Previous research on stunting factors has primarily used multivariate or correlation analyses. However, this study uniquely focuses on establishing causal relationships between these factors, a crucial step in improving early diagnosis for stunting prevention and treatment. The data used in this research was 83 data on stunting incidents and consisted of eight parameters. The purpose of this study is to model the causal relationship between factors that represent the incidence of stunting. This study uses two simple causal approaches, namely the Peter-Clark (PC) algorithm to obtain the initial concept of a graph model of the relationship between variables and the Greedy Equivalence Search (GES) algorithm to refine the model by obtaining the direction of the causal relationship. There are six bi-directed relationships that have been found, namely from food variables to support; maternal knowledge with sanitation; Height/Age and Weight/Age with Child Nutrition; height/age with weight/age and stunting. In addition, both algorithms in this study have successfully obtained a causal model, by comparing performance using directional and causal densities that the GES algorithm was able to identify a relationship of 0.66 compared to the PC algorithm.

Abstract

Bullying in high school is frequent and negatively affects students' psychological well-being. The lack of effective reporting mechanisms makes students hesitant to report bullying cases for fear of their identity being exposed, which can lead to stigma or retaliation. The lack of data on bullying incidents also hampers prevention and intervention measures. The study designed and implemented a mobile application that uses natural language processing (NLP) for speech-to-text conversion, enabling anonymous and convenient reporting of bullying cases. The app ensures the anonymity of whistleblowers and facilitates the collection of accurate data on bullying incidents, helping schools respond with appropriate preventive measures. Software engineering methodologies are used with a focus on requirements analysis, system design, implementation, and application testing. NLP technology is used to interpret verbal instructions into text, with the Support Vector Machine (SVM) method for text classification, ensuring high accuracy in detecting bullying incidents. The trial application in several high schools showed the relevance and effectiveness of the application. Ethical and security considerations are top priorities, with an emphasis on whistleblower identity protection and data security. The test results showed that the application achieved 92% accuracy, 90% precision, and 88% recall, demonstrating its effectiveness in collecting bullying reports anonymously and accurately.

Abstract

The conflict between Russia and Ukraine remains one of the major international issues drawing global attention. It began in 2014 with the ousting of President Yanukovych, which triggered a political divide between pro-European Union and pro-Russian factions within Ukraine. Tensions escalated significantly by late 2021, culminating in Russia’s military aggression against Ukraine on February 24, 2022, under President Vladimir Putin’s directive. Twitter, as a social media platform, became a major outlet for the public to express their opinions regarding the conflict. This study aims to analyze public sentiment on Twitter concerning the Russia-Ukraine conflict. The methods used in this research are a combination of the Naïve Bayes algorithm and Lexicon Based Features. Naïve Bayes is utilized to classify sentiment data, while Lexicon Based Features assign weights to positive and negative sentiment words in textual data. The results show that this combined method is effective in categorizing public opinions based on their sentiments towards the conflict. This sentiment analysis provides a broader understanding of global perceptions and may serve as a reference for assessing public opinion in digital media contexts.

Abstract

Jahe (Zingiber officinale) merupakan komoditas biofarmasi yang tidak hanya penting dalam dunia kuliner,tetapi juga memiliki nilai ekonomis yang tinggi di pasar internasional. Selain sebagai bahan baku rempah, jahe banyak dimanfaatkan dalam industri farmasi dan kosmetik berkat kandungan bioaktifnya yang memiliki manfaat kesehatan.Namun, dalam proses budidayanya, tanaman jahe sering kali dihadapkan pada berbagai masalah penyakit yang dapatmerugikan petani, seperti layu bakteri, rimpang busuk, bercak daun, dan penyakit lainnya. Penyakit-penyakit ini dapatmenyebabkan kerugian yang besar, baik dalam hal kualitas hasil panen maupun jumlah produksi. Kendala utama dalampengendalian penyakit tanaman jahe adalah minimnya pengetahuan serta terbatasnya akses petani terhadap informasiyang akurat mengenai cara mendeteksi dan mengobati penyakit tanaman. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untukmerancang sebuah sistem pakar berbasis web yang memanfaatkan metode certainty factor untuk mendiagnosispenyakit tanaman jahe. Dengan sistem ini, petani dapat dengan mudah mendiagnosis penyakit berdasarkan gejala yang ditemukan, sehingga mereka dapat mengambil langkah pengendalian yang lebih tepat dan efektif. Selain itu,penggunaan black box testing akan memastikan bahwa sistem ini berfungsi dengan baik, dan pengujian dengan ahli pertaniandiharapkan dapat meningkatkan akurasi dan presisi dalam proses diagnosis penyakit tanaman jahe.Kata kunci black box, certainty factor, jahe, sistem pakar

Abstract

The incidence of type 2 diabetes mellitus among children is rising due to poor dietary habits and lack of physical activity from an early age. Health education remains suboptimal, especially in areas with limited access to health information. This community service activity aimed to raise awareness and understanding among elementary school children and their parents regarding early diabetes prevention through multimedia-based educational technology. The method used included interactive counseling, sugar content demonstrations in food, introduction of the Diabetes Detective educational app, and blood glucose screening using a digital glucometer. The activity took place in Muntang Village, Purbalingga, involving 30 children and 25 parents. Results showed an increase in children’s understanding from 49.5% (pre-test) to 85.5% (post-test), while 92% of parents stated the media was easy for children to understand. Children’s average blood glucose level was normal (92.5 mg/dL), while four parents were in the prediabetic range. The activity demonstrates that an interactive, contextual educational approach can enhance health literacy and promote healthy habits in families. This model can be replicated as a preventive strategy using digital technology in other regions.ABSTRAKKasus diabetes mellitus tipe 2 pada anak-anak meningkat seiring pola makan buruk dan kurangnya aktivitas fisik sejak dini. Edukasi mengenai gaya hidup sehat masih belum optimal, terutama di daerah dengan akses informasi kesehatan terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kesadaran dan pemahaman anak-anak sekolah dasar serta orang tua mengenai pencegahan dini diabetes melalui media edukasi berbasis teknologi multimedia. Metode yang digunakan adalah penyuluhan interaktif, demonstrasi kandungan gula pada makanan, pengenalan aplikasi edukatif Diabetes Detective, dan pemeriksaan gula darah menggunakan glukometer digital. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Desa Muntang, Purbalingga, dengan melibatkan 30 anak dan 25 orang tua. Hasil menunjukkan peningkatan pemahaman anak dari rata-rata 49,5% (pre-test) menjadi 85,5% (post-test), dan 92% orang tua menyatakan media mudah dipahami. Rata-rata kadar gula darah anak normal (92,5 mg/dL), sedangkan empat orang tua berada pada kategori prediabetes. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pendekatan edukatif yang interaktif dan kontekstual dapat meningkatkan literasi kesehatan anak dan keluarga serta dapat direplikasi sebagai strategi preventif berbasis teknologi di wilayah lain.

Abstract

Proper classification of diabetes is a significant challenge in contemporary healthcare, especially related to early detection and clinical decision support systems. This study aims to optimize the Extreme Learning Machine (ELM) model with a metaheuristic approach to improve performance in diabetes classification. The data used was an open dataset containing the patient's medical attributes, such as age, gender, smoking status, body mass index, blood glucose level, and HbA1c. The initial process includes data cleansing, one-hot coding for categorical features, MinMax normalization, and unbalanced data handling with SMOTE. The ELM model was tested with four activation functions (Sigmoid, ReLU, Tanh, and RBF) each combined with three metaheuristic optimization strategies, namely Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO), Genetic Algorithm (GA), and Bat Algorithm. The results of the evaluation showed that the combination of the Tanh activation function with GA optimization obtained the highest accuracy of 87.98% and an F1-score of 0.5489. Overall, GA optimization appears to be superior to all other measurement configurations in consistent classification performance. The main contribution of this study is to offer a systematic approach to select the best combination of activation functions and optimization algorithms in ELM, as well as to provide empirical evidence to support the application of metaheuristic strategies to improve the accuracy of disease classification based on health data. This research has direct implications for the development of a more precise and data-based medical diagnostic classification system for diabetes.

Abstract

Puskesmas Banyumudal is a health care facility in Pemalang Regency, located at KM 1, Banyumudal, Jalan Raya Moga-Karangsari, Moga District, Central Java. This health center aims to improve the standard and equity of health services for all levels of society. one of the main obstacles that is often faced is the lack of management of patient queues that still use manual systems, causing long and irregular queues resulting in inefficient and ineffective patient waiting times. this research was conducted to build a more efficient and effective Banyumudal Health Center queue service system. by using the waterfall method, through this system, it is hoped that service efficiency will increase by reducing the duration of patient queues and improving better service quality. This method involves clear stages, starting from analyzing needs, designing designs, and testing. The results of the study show that the application of the waterfall method in the development of the Banyumudal health center queuing service system is able to improve queue management efficiently and effectively and provide information to patients regarding queue status, as well as facilitate health center officers and doctors in monitoring the queuing process. blackbox testing results show that all systems function properly according to predetermined specifications. thus, the queuing system designed is expected to have a positive impact on improving the quality of queuing services at the Banyumudal Health Center.

Abstract

Childhood diabetes is an increasing health concern that requires early prevention strategies through education and health literacy. Conventional educational methods are often less engaging for children, leading to low effectiveness in delivering health information. This community service program aimed to improve children’s health literacy on diabetes through the innovation of EduDiabetes AR, an interactive educational media that combines Augmented Reality (AR) with Smart Flash Cards. The implementation consisted of media development, volunteer training, socialization sessions, and evaluation through pre-test and post-test. The program was carried out at Limbah Pustaka, Muntang Village, Purbalingga, involving 70 children from elementary and kindergarten levels and 20 volunteers. The results showed a significant improvement, with participants’ health literacy increasing by more than 90% after using EduDiabetes AR. Children expressed greater interest in learning through AR-based media, while volunteers considered the media effective in supporting health education. This program concludes that EduDiabetes AR is an effective interactive learning media to enhance children’s health literacy in the early prevention of diabetes. Future development may focus on expanding the scope of educational content and integrating the system into broader digital learning platforms.ABSTRAKDiabetes pada anak merupakan masalah kesehatan yang semakin meningkat dan membutuhkan strategi pencegahan dini melalui pendidikan serta literasi kesehatan. Metode edukasi konvensional sering kali kurang menarik bagi anak-anak sehingga efektivitas penyampaian informasi rendah. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi kesehatan anak terkait diabetes melalui inovasi media EduDiabetes AR, sebuah aplikasi berbasis Augmented Reality (AR) yang dipadukan dengan Smart Flash Card interaktif. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi perancangan media edukasi, pelatihan relawan, sosialisasi kepada peserta, serta evaluasi literasi kesehatan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di Limbah Pustaka, Desa Muntang, Purbalingga, dengan melibatkan 70 anak dari tingkat SD dan TK serta 20 relawan. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman yang signifikan, dengan tingkat literasi kesehatan peserta meningkat lebih dari 90% setelah menggunakan media EduDiabetes AR. Anak-anak merasa lebih tertarik belajar dengan media berbasis AR, sedangkan para relawan menilai media ini efektif dalam membantu edukasi kesehatan. Kegiatan ini menyimpulkan bahwa EduDiabetes AR merupakan media edukasi interaktif yang efektif untuk meningkatkan literasi kesehatan anak dalam upaya pencegahan dini diabetes. Ke depan, program ini dapat dikembangkan lebih lanjut dengan memperluas cakupan materi dan integrasi ke dalam platform pembelajaran digital yang lebih luas.

Abstract

Waste banks are a form of circular economy initiative that increase the added value of inorganic waste while empowering local communities. However, their operations often face limitations such as inadequate production facilities, high energy costs, and manual record-keeping systems. This community service program aimed to strengthen the capacity of the “Sampah Sahabatku” Waste Bank in Muntang Village through the application of appropriate technology based on solar panels and IoT sensors, as well as by enhancing women’s roles in management. The implementation methods included situation analysis, solar panel installation, technical and managerial training, mentoring, and evaluation using pre-test and post-test assessments. The results showed that solar panels successfully reduced electricity costs and supported the operation of plastic and paper shredding machines, while IoT sensor integration improved the accuracy of record-keeping. The average knowledge level of participants increased by +58% after training. The community’s response was highly positive, reflected in improved technical skills and greater confidence among women in waste bank management. In conclusion, the combination of appropriate technology and renewable energy has strengthened the independence, efficiency, and sustainability of community-based waste banks.ABSTRAKBank sampah merupakan salah satu instrumen ekonomi sirkular yang dapat meningkatkan nilai tambah sampah anorganik sekaligus memberdayakan masyarakat. Namun, pengelolaan bank sampah sering menghadapi keterbatasan sarana produksi, tingginya biaya energi, dan sistem pencatatan yang masih manual. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas Bank Sampah “Sampah Sahabatku” di Desa Muntang melalui penerapan teknologi tepat guna berbasis panel surya dan sensor IoT, serta penguatan peran perempuan dalam pengelolaan. Metode pelaksanaan meliputi analisis situasi, pemasangan panel surya, pelatihan teknis dan manajerial, pendampingan, serta evaluasi melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa panel surya mampu mengurangi biaya listrik dan mendukung operasional mesin pencacah plastik maupun kertas, sementara integrasi sensor IoT meningkatkan akurasi pencatatan. Nilai rata-rata pemahaman mitra meningkat sebesar +58% setelah pelatihan. Respon mitra juga positif, ditandai dengan meningkatnya keterampilan teknis dan kepercayaan diri perempuan dalam pengelolaan bank sampah. Kesimpulannya, kombinasi teknologi tepat guna dan energi terbarukan mampu memperkuat kemandirian, efisiensi, serta keberlanjutan bank sampah berbasis komunitas.

Abstract

Telkom University Purwokerto merupakan salahsatu perguruan tinggi di Indonesia yang berfokus padabidang teknologi informasi dan komunikasi. Namun,pengelolaan peminjaman ruangan masih sering dilakukansecara konvensional, yaitu melalui sistem pemesananmanual yang melibatkan proses administratif yangmengharuskan mahasiswa untuk menemui pihak logistikdan akademik terlebih dahulu. Meskipun proses tersebutrelatif cepat, sistem manual memiliki keterbatasan sepertiketergantungan pada jam kerja dan belum adanyadokumentasi historis peminjaman yang terpusat. Selain itu,user juga tidak dapat secara langsung mengetahuiketersediaan ruangan tanpa menghubungi pihak terkait.Sebuah website diperlukan untuk mengelola peminjamanruangan di kampus agar dapat terorganisir dengan baik.Sistem peminjaman ruangan yang dapat diakses melalui situsweb melayani user yang ingin menggunakan ruangan untuktujuan akademik dan non-akademik. Tujuannya adalahmerancang website peminjaman ruangan yang berfungsiuntuk mengelola peminjaman ruang di Telkom UniversityPurwokerto. Website peminjaman ruangan ini telah dibuatdengan menggunakan metode prototype dan frameworkLaravel. Hasilnya adalah website peminjaman ruangan diTelkom University Purwokerto yang memiliki fitur untukmelihat daftar ruangan yang tersedia, proses peminjamanruangan, serta riwayat dan daftar peminjam ruangan.Berdasarkan hasil pengujian blackbox testing didapatkantotal presentase keberhasilan fungsi sebesar 96,45%.Kata kunci— framework Laravel, manajemen ruangan,peminjaman ruangan, prototype, website
