Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of tailor communication style and Instagram content clarity on customer loyalty toward the @jahitkebaya_bdl account. Instagram has become a primary platform for digital marketing strategies, especially for small and medium enterprises like @jahitkebaya_bdl. In maintaining and increasing customer loyalty, two key factors examined in this research are the way tailors communicate with customers and the clarity of information conveyed through digital content on Instagram. This research employs a quantitative approach using a survey method through questionnaires distributed to Instagram followers of @jahitkebaya_bdl who have used its services more than twice. Data analysis is conducted using multiple linear regression to assess the relationship between the independent variables (communication style and content clarity) and the dependent variable (customer loyalty). The findings indicate that the tailor’s communication style significantly affects customer loyalty, particularly in terms of responsiveness, discussion ability, and professionalism. Content clarity on Instagram also plays a crucial role, as engaging visuals, easily understandable information, and transparency in pricing and ordering procedures enhance customer attachment to the brand. These findings contribute to digital marketing communication strategies, particularly in enhancing customer loyalty through optimized direct interactions and informative social media content.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the role of citizen journalism in strengthening journalistic practices on the Instagram account @lampuung. Citizen journalism allows the public to actively participate in the collection, dissemination, and verification of information. The @lampuung account, as an example of a social media platform applying the concept of citizen journalism, serves as a channel for distributing information involving direct contributions from the public, such as photos, videos, and narrative reports on various issues. This study uses a qualitative approach with a case study method, collecting data through in- depth interviews with citizen journalists who contribute to @lampuung. The results of the study indicates that citizen journalism on the @lampuung account enhances journalistic practices through three key contributions : accelerating the dissemination of local information, enriching the diversity of perspectives in reporting, and increasing public engagement in the information sharing process. In addition, the role of admin is crucial in maintaining the credibility and validity of the content through layered verification processes. Despite challenges such as low media literacy, technical limitations, and the risk of spreading hoaxes, @lampuung has managed to effectively manage public participation, creating a participatory, adaptive, and responsible digital information ecosystem. This research contributes to the understanding of how social media particularly Instagram can serve as a collaborative space between the public and the media in strengthening local journalistic practices in the era of new media.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the representation of toxic positivity in the Clash of Champions broadcast on the Ruangguru YouTube Channel (Case Study at SMA Negeri 1 Tumijajar). The research method used was qualitative with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through interviews, observations, and documentation with students at SMA Negeri 1 Tumijajar. The data were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis. The results show a representation of toxic positivity. According to students of SMA Negeri 1 Tumijajar, the message that appears in the Clash of Champions broadcast on the Ruangguru YouTube channel is manifested through a narrative that emphasizes the importance of always thinking positively, not giving up, and continuing to fight without a balanced depiction of emotional realities such as sadness, failure, or fatigue. The broadcast tends to simplify the process of achieving success, as if it only requires passion and motivation, without considering social, psychological, or economic obstacles. The meaning contained behind the narrative and visuals of the broadcast Clash of Champions represents toxic positivity in the form of pressure to always appear strong, cheerful, and never give up under any circumstances. According to some students, these messages can be uplifting, but can also be burdensome when under pressure, because they feel they are not allowed to show vulnerability or failure. The consistent visuals of success and happiness reinforce the construct that negative emotions are a form of weakness that must be avoided. The responses of students at SMA Negeri 1 Tumijajar to the representation of toxic positivity in the Clash of Champions show varied. Some students accepted the motivational messages as constructive (dominant-hegemonic), others interpreted them critically (negotiated), and still others felt the messages actually created emotional pressure (oppositional)

Abstract

The development of digital technology today has brought forth various new forms of entertainment that not only function as a means of relaxation, but also create alternative social spaces for their users. One form of digital entertainment that has become increasingly popular among young people is virtual roleplay. This activity involves roleplaying in a digital environment designed to closely resemble everyday reality, whether in terms of appearance, interaction, or social dynamics. The phenomenon of roleplay becomes even more intriguing because player involvement is not limited to entertainment alone, but also extends to the formation of identity, social relations, and even influences emotional life in the real world. This indicates that virtual spaces no longer merely serve as reflections of reality, but have transformed into alternative worlds that significantly shape how individuals perceive themselves and others. Based on this background, this study aims to examine the phenomenon of hyperreality experienced by members of the roleplay group The Seasons. Jean Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and hyperreality is employed as the main analytical framework to explain how digital representations can transform into realities that are perceived as more authentic and meaningful than reality itself. To achieve this objective, a qualitative approach was applied with data collected through semi-structured interviews conducted both online and offline, direct observation of player activities, and documentation related to their interactions within the roleplay world as well as outside the game. The research subjects consist of group administrators as key informants, group members who are actively involved and exhibit signs of hyperreality as primary informants, and family or friends in the real world who serve as supporting informants. The collected data was analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing in order to obtain an in-depth understanding of the phenomenon under study. The findings indicate that the roleplay world within The Seasons group has reached the stage of the Third Order of Simulacra as explained by Jean Baudrillard. At this stage, representations no longer refer to real-world reality, but instead create a new reality that is fully lived by the players. The conclusion of this study emphasizes that roleplay is not merely a digital game, but has evolved into a genuine social space in which hyperreality fully operates in shaping identity construction, communication, and interpersonal relations. Thus, this research contributes academically to the understanding of digital simulation phenomena and enriches the study of the relevance of Baudrillard’s theory of simulacra and hyperreality to contemporary digital cultural practices.

Abstract

This study explores public perceptions of the Chinatown development in Teluk Betung Selatan, which has generated a range of responses, including both support and opposition. Perception in communication refers to the absorption of information through the senses, influenced by external stimuli, and can result in either positive or negative attitudes toward a given situation. In this context, community perceptions are shaped by the extent of their involvement, access to information, and experience of the development’s impact either directly or indirectly. This research employs a qualitative approach, using data collection techniques such as in-depth interviews with informants from various backgrounds, direct field observation to capture the ongoing social dynamics, and documentation of relevant records and literature to strengthen the empirical data. Data validity is ensured through source triangulation, which aims to confirm the accuracy, consistency, and credibility of information obtained from multiple sources. The collected data is analyzed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing to provide a comprehensive picture of community perceptions. The findings indicate that the Chinatown development is perceived by some community members as an opportunity to boost the local economy, promote tourism, and revitalize the Teluk Betung Selatan area, which was previously considered underdeveloped. However, the study also reveals concerns among parts of the community regarding the potential loss of local identity due to the dominance of external cultural symbols that lack inclusive narratives. Additionally, the public highlighted the limited community involvement in the planning and decision-making processes, creating the impression that the project was executed in a top-down manner. This has contributed to negative perceptions of the development. These findings emphasize the importance of transparent communication, active community participation, and efforts to balance the preservation of local identity with urban development.
