Abstract

The need for land has increased every year, and this increase is caused by the rate of population growth, resulting in changes in land use. Uncontrolled land use conversion has led to catastrophic flooding in the Antokan watershed. The purpose of this study was to determine the direction of land use change policies in the Antokan Watershed, West Sumatra Province. To determine land use change using the GIS method with the overlay technique of land use maps for the period 2000-2020. Furthermore, to determine the policy direction using the ISM method involving 20 experts. Research results in the Antokan watershed have shown changes in land use of 4,178 hectares during the 2000-2020 period. Changes occur in forest areas, mixed gardens, shrubs, and rice fields which have decreased, on the other hand, settlements, plantations and open land have expanded. Furthermore, there are two sub-elements that are the priority for policy direction to reduce the rate of land use change, namely making regulations and firm sanctions on land use errors (E3) and consistency in enforcing land use laws (E4).

Abstract

Indonesia has a huge potential in the development of marine tourism, because it has many islands and very beautiful coastal areas. The Mandeh area has enormous potential in developing marine tourism, due to its beautiful coastal areas and islands. The purpose of this study was to evaluate land suitability and determine constraints for the development of marine tourism in the Mandeh area. To determine the evaluation of land suitability using the Geographical Information System (GIS) method using ten indicators, namely: depth, beach type, beach width, basic material, current velocity, coastal independence, beach brightness, land use, hazardous biota, and availability of fresh water. Furthermore, to determine the constraints using the Interpretative Structural Modeling (ISM) method, the ISM method involves stakeholders from tourism experts, community leaders, tourism businesses, local governments. The results of research on the evaluation of the land suitability of marine tourism in the Mandeh area are mostly or about 35% very suitable (S1) for marine tourism, while the unsuitable area (N) is only 20% of the total area. Based on the analysis of the obstacles to developing marine tourism in the Mandeh area, namely the lack of investment capital and professional personnel in the development of marine tourism.

Abstract

River condition that experiences change is not apart from the utilization of river boarder for human life needs. Beside the effect of built land development, river morphology changes because of erotion and deposition. Therefore, it needs detection of river morphology change, one of which is by utilizing remote sensing data with Modification Normalized Difference Water Index. Modification Normalized Difference Water Index can separate between water and land sharply until river morphology analysis can be clearer. This research aims to detect the change of Siak River morphology in Pekanbaru City caused by abrasion and deposition by using Modification of Normalized Difference Water Index on landsat temporal data of 2008 and 2018. Data used in this research were Landsat 7 image of 2008 and Landsat 8 year of 2018. The research results show that morphology changes of Siak River in Pekanbaru City is caused by erotion and deposition. The erotion area reaches 12.133 ha and deposition 4.488 ha in the period of 10 years

Abstract

Education is a long life need. Every human being needs education, when and wherever he is. Education is very important because without human education it will be difficult to develop and even be retarded. Education is a conscious endeavor and aims to develop quality. The definition of education according to the Law (UU) of the National Education System No. 20/2003 is a conscious and planned effort to create a learning atmosphere and learning process so that students actively develop their potential to have religious-spiritual strength, self-control, personality, intelligence, noble character, and skills needed by themselves, society, nation, and state. With education, it is hoped that humans will know all the advantages that have the potential for a better quality of life than before. Based on the findings obtained, it can be concluded that learning outcomes are the abilities possessed by students after receiving their learning experiences and these results can be used by teachers to be used as measures or criteria in achieving an educational goal and this can be achieved if students understand learning with accompanying learning by changing behavior for the better.
